However, Yue Fei was not angered by those things. Instead, he was bothered by some of the later analyses of the reasons for the fall of the Song Dynasty. In fact, the reason is very clear: a weak country has no diplomacy. When you are at the mercy of others, whatever you do is wrong.
The knife is in someone else's hands, and history is even written by the victors. Yet later generations delve into old books, searching for diplomatic oversights by the weak and finding reasons for the bullying of the strong. It's safe to say that these historians have ruined their brains with all their reading.
Tigers will always eat people; when they will depends solely on whether they are hungry. This principle is sound. If you don't want a tiger to eat you, the only way is to kill it or drive it away so that it feels threatened by your presence and will avoid you even if it smells you.
Everything else is nonsense.
As they walked and talked, they came to a temple among the graves. Wang Yao saw that the temple was not large, with only a solitary main hall. The plaque in front of the hall had three large characters: "Temple of the God of War".
Yue Fei was the first to enter the hall, followed by Wang Yao. They saw that the main shrine of the God of War was adorned with a statue of an old man. The statue held a knife in its right hand, pointing slightly forward, while its left hand held a large shield, slightly shifted back. The distinction between offense and defense was clear.
When Yue Fei entered the hall, he first took three sticks of incense from the shrine, lit them, and placed them in the incense burner at the feet of the statue. Then he gestured for everyone to go around the statue and go to the back. Behind the statue was a door, and a man in a cotton robe was sitting cross-legged on the ground by the door, dozing off.
“The guards who used to watch over this place have all been transferred to the rear due to the urgency of the war. I have arranged for my men to temporarily look after them. They have just been through a major battle and are exhausted,” Yue Fei said softly to the fairy.
The man was startled awake by the sound and, upon seeing Yue Fei, the fairy maiden, and the others, hurriedly got up.
"I'll send a few of you to the underworld," Yue Fei nodded to the man. He then turned to look at the fairy.
"Although the battle at Wuling Pass has made some progress, the demons' offensive on both the eastern and western fronts remains unabated. I dare not slacken my efforts here either. In fact, our divine realm has some experience in dealing with spirits. Because spirits are androgynous, they often have difficulties in gender recognition."
“This can be used when fighting the enemy. Once the situation here stabilizes, I will ask the God Lord to send divine generals to support the Underworld in dealing with the calamity,” Yue Fei said to the fairy.
"Oh, thank you so much, thank you so much!" Gucci said repeatedly.
"Can we go up to the seventeenth floor from here?" Wang Yao asked uncertainly, looking at the dark doorway behind the statue.
"Probably," Wuying said from the side.
"You little devil, I've been wondering the whole time, how come you only have a head left?" Gao Chong asked Wu Ying with a laugh.
"What else could it be? It was caused by his tribulation, so he can't be reincarnated. I'm taking him upstairs to ask Yama for help in repairing his ghost body." Seeing that Wuying looked embarrassed and didn't seem to want to answer Gao Chong, Wang Yao spoke to Gao Chong on his behalf.
"Good lad, you've got guts, you have the potential to enter our divine realm," Gao Chong laughed.
“I do know a powerful being in the divine realm who practices ghost cultivation techniques. If Yama can help you restore your ghost body, that's fine. If not, come to our divine realm, and I'll find that powerful being to help you.”
Yue Fei, who was standing by the door, had probably been curious about Wuying's situation. After listening to Wang Yao's introduction, he smiled and said something.
"That's great!" Wang Yao quickly bowed to Yue Fei and followed Gu Qi and Xiangu into the door. There was a downward staircase at the entrance, and after going down, there was a straight alley. Wang Yao noticed that there used to be candlesticks on both sides of the alley, but he didn't know how long they had been extinguished and not lit.
After walking for about several hundred meters, another wooden door appeared ahead. A hideous skull was drawn on the door with fluorescent powder, along with some random writing. The alley was so dark that Wang Yao couldn't make out what it said.
Gu Qi stepped forward and pushed open the door. Everyone filed in. Wang Yao found that the entrance was still a dark alley. After walking for a while, he suddenly heard the faint sound of a guqin coming from afar. They were walking in the direction from which the sound came.
The group walked on in the darkness, accompanied by the sound of the zither. The alleyway began to light up, and Wang Yao discovered that the lighting was not provided by torches or candles, but by pieces of egg-sized gemstones, scattered and inlaid on the walls on both sides of the alleyway.
The walls of the alleyways they walked through were exquisitely carved, presenting a series of bizarre and wonderful scenes, including banquet scenes, war scenes, and scenes of wealthy people's lives.
The luminous gems were often inlaid in the paintings to represent the positions of the sun, moon, or lamps. Looking at these, Wang Yao felt as if he were walking through the tomb passage of a king or general, and a series of upward steps began to appear under his feet.
At the top of the stairs, there is another wooden door. Passing through the wooden door, there is a short alleyway, at the end of which is a gleaming golden gate.
As they pushed open the golden door, a delicate fragrance wafted towards them. Wang Yao discovered that they had entered a room bathed in a fragrant aroma, with a refreshing mist constantly emanating from the ceiling and walls.
The room was warm and cozy, filled with a fragrant mist. Exquisite murals and decorations were partially visible. In the center of the room was a sculpture of a group of graceful women bathing, with the sound of flowing water between the sculptures, making one feel as if they had stepped into a high-end bathhouse.
The scene was full of implications, which made Wang Yao involuntarily use the immortal technique "self-cleansing" on himself. He had used too much "glass" on the zero floor and now only had about 100,000 points of spiritual power left. Even though he felt a little uncomfortable down there, he didn't dare to waste his spiritual power.
