Wang Yao immediately dismissed the idea, because firstly, Hui Shuo might not necessarily be in the Hu tribe, and secondly, the fairy maidens might not be waiting for him there. If he went there alone rashly, he might alert Wei Gonggong. So he decided to stay in the Shu tribe for a while before making any decisions.
After all, since that wicked immortal sent Wang Yao to the demon realm to find Hui Shuo, he certainly wouldn't let Wang Yao come up empty-handed. If he really wanted to abduct the monk without saying a word, he could simply not say anything at all, so why would he need that immortal to bring him a message?
Moreover, the first stop after coming from Tiannan Immortal City was the Shu Clan. That Diao Xian should have left some information about Hui Shuo for Wang Yao here. Thinking this, Wang Yao was not in a hurry to go to the Hu Clan, but instead circled around the transportation center a few times.
At that moment, the loudspeakers in the traffic center blared.
"Attention passengers! Attention passengers! Ticket checking for train 1011 to Jelly City has begun. Passengers going to Jelly City, please proceed to the ticket gate and queue for ticket checking as soon as possible."
Listening to the loudspeaker, Wang Yao nodded secretly. It seemed that Jelly City was another city of the Shu Clan. In that case, the rats were doing quite well in the demon realm, having two cities already.
After a brief introduction by one-third of the face, and based on his previous understanding of the demon realm, Wang Yao already understood that the demon realm was inhabited by all sorts of spirits and monsters, and that the Shu clan was simply a group of rat spirits in the demon realm.
He looked around the indoor plaza, spotted the exit via a road sign, and followed a group of rats out of the traffic center.
There was a checkpoint at the exit. Wang Yao imitated the other rats, holding up the sign that represented one-third of his face and swiping it at the checkpoint.
"Welcome to the Shu Clan, Immortal! We wish you a pleasant life." With a sweet and cheerful female voice, the checkpoint opened, and Wang Yao stepped out of the traffic center.
As he walked, he thought to himself, "That wicked immortal sent me to the demon realm to find Hui Shuo, and I'm already here. I wonder what that wicked immortal's purpose is in sending me to the demon realm."
But who cares? I can't exactly stand in the traffic center like a statue holding up a sign with "Hui Shuo" on it, can I? Since I'm in the demon realm, I should at least take a look at this rat demon's city.
Wang Yao stepped out of the indoor plaza and found himself in an even larger open-air plaza. In the center of the plaza stood a tall cement platform, upon which stood a statue of a rat, its head held high and strutting about. Judging from its military attire, it was clearly a prominent figure among the Shu people.
Wang Yao guessed that, in order to reflect the characteristics of the Shu ethnic group, the artists here did not sculpt this important figure as a human being after evolution.
The people coming and going in the open square were mostly well-dressed rats.
They were either in groups of three or five, in pairs, or walking alone. If it weren't for that distinctively rat-like head, Wang Yao would have really thought he had arrived in a city in the human world.
He looked back and saw that the transportation center behind him was quite impressive and grand, with the words "Cheese City Transportation Center" prominently displayed above the exit. A large LCD screen next to it was scrolling through information.
"The gentry have achieved significant results in their battle against the Winged Tribe. On the morning of the 18th, the gentry's Third Army Corps captured the Winged Tribe's sixth largest city, Cliff. Our Foreign Ministry extends its warmest congratulations to the gentry army for its brilliant victory and at the same time strongly condemns the Winged Tribe's shameless act of aggression."
"The Foreign Affairs Office, representing all the people of the Shu ethnic group, demands that the Yi ethnic group withdraw from the territory occupied by the Yanyang ethnic group, compensate for the losses of the war, and punish the war criminals!"
"The military alliance treaty between the Shu and Liang ethnic groups was signed yesterday afternoon at 5 p.m. after several rounds of negotiations. Foreign Minister Mo Xi claimed that the signing of this treaty is a major victory in the field of Shu diplomacy and is of great significance for ensuring the security of the Shu people in the northwest."
"The Cheese City Police Center reminds residents that the intruders who have recently entered the Honey Milk District of Cheese City have caused several deaths and injuries. Residents of the Honey Milk District are urged to strictly abide by the ban on going out at night. Residents of other areas of Cheese City should also adhere to the principle of not going out at night unless absolutely necessary."
"If any residents discover suspected criminals who are vagrants or migrants, please call the police hotline immediately and do not contact them!!! Hotline number:..."
...
"Excuse me, are you Mr. Wang Yao from the Immortal Realm?" Wang Yao was watching something interesting when he suddenly heard a voice beside him. He turned his head and saw a guy wearing a long robe, a tall hat, and a human head.
"Who are you...?" Wang Yao asked, frowning.
"I am Teng Wuji, the first secretary of the Zhanghuang ethnic group's embassy in Shu. Are you Mr. Wang Yao?" the guy asked, staring with his big eyes. Only then did Wang Yao realize that this guy was a bit cross-eyed and always looked at people with a menacing air.
"Zhang Huangzu? That's right, I am Wang Yao. What do you want with me?" Wang Yao thought to himself that this was probably the work of that cunning immortal.
"You are Wang Yao? That's...that's great! I received a secret telegram from the clan a couple of days ago. It only said that you were coming to the Holy Domain, but it didn't say when or if you had arrived. So I had to come to this transportation center every day to try my luck. I never thought I would finally meet you today."
When Teng Wuji heard that this was the person he was looking for, he immediately grinned. Wang Yao was astonished to find that this person did not have the corners of a mouth. When he stretched his mouth, the corners of his mouth stretched all the way to his ears, revealing two rows of full white teeth, which was creepy to look at.
"Don't be so happy yet. Tell me first what your clan wants from me?" Wang Yao asked.
“Let’s talk as we walk. This is a traffic control zone, so parking is difficult. It’s quite a walk to where I’m going to park.” Teng Wuji said, trying to lead Wang Yao away from the open-air plaza. Wang Yao quickly stopped and shook his head repeatedly.
