That scoundrel is far too confident. Does he think he can control me just because he kidnapped Hui Shuo? There's no reason for him to follow me around like a puppy just because of a few words.
"Wait, let's get this straight first. What Zhang Huang clan? Do you think I know you well?" Wang Yao shouted.
Seeing Wang Yao's hostile expression, Teng Wuji had no choice but to stop and patiently look at Wang Yao.
“Our Zhanghuang clan is the largest clan in Dongchuan. It is a clan composed of more than a hundred groups. We have offices in all the clans of the entire Holy Domain. Our clan has always been open and inclusive, and actively cooperates with all the clans of the Holy Domain and other regions outside the country. You will not be disappointed if you go to our clan.”
"No matter how big your Zhanghuang clan is, what does it have to do with me? I'm just here in the Holy Land for tourism. My itinerary is already set, and your Zhanghuang clan isn't on it." Wang Yao shook his head vigorously.
“Um… oh… right…” Seeing that Wang Yao had no interest in his clan and seemed ready to turn around and leave at the slightest disagreement, Teng Wuji was at a loss.
But soon, as if he had suddenly remembered something, he pulled out a piece of paper covered with dense writing from his pocket, glanced at it briefly, and then stuffed it back into his pocket.
“You… your son is currently touring our tribe. We hope you will come along. Our tribe has important matters to discuss with you, and we will make sure you have a worthwhile trip,” Teng Wuji said hastily.
“My son…” Wang Yao frowned and nodded when Teng Wuji finally revealed the truth. “Lead the way, I want to see what kind of trouble your Zhang Huang clan is up to.”
"Our Zhanghuang clan doesn't have any tricks up its sleeve, only fog and cloud..."
Teng Wuji breathed a sigh of relief and, with a few words in his mouth, led Wang Yao away from the open square, across a busy road, and to a slightly quiet alley. He then invited Wang Yao into a car parked at the alley entrance.
Wang Yao discovered that the carriages in the demon realm were not much different from those in the human realm, and at least the cities of the Shu clan in the demon realm were not much different from those in the human realm.
Residential and commercial buildings stood side by side, and shops lined the street one after another, selling barbecue, repairing cars, clothing stores... It seemed that all walks of life were much like the human world. As the car continued to drive forward, Wang Yao couldn't help but frown again.
He thought Teng Wuji would take him to the Zhanghuang tribe's embassy in Shu, but unexpectedly, Teng Wuji's car turned left and right in the city and actually drove out of the city. He felt that the road was becoming bumpy and uneven, and the shops and buildings on both sides of the road were gradually becoming scarce.
"What's wrong with you...?" Wang Yao couldn't help but ask.
"Don't worry, we'll be there soon. The higher-ups value you highly and have specially arranged a special express train, Zhanghuang Express, which should arrive today." Teng Wuji smiled slightly, a mysterious expression on his face.
The car drove forward for a long distance before suddenly stopping in the middle of nowhere. Teng Wuji raised his wrist to check his watch, then got out of the car, stomped his feet a few times at the front of the vehicle, nodded to confirm, and turned to signal Wang Yao to get out.
“Recently, the Mao tribe has been receiving a lot of refugees, and the Shu tribe is taking strict precautions. Otherwise, the tribe would probably send you a private plane. But the express train is also good. Some guests think the express train is more interesting than a private plane,” Teng Wuji said to Wang Yao with a smile.
Wang Yao looked around blankly. In the distance were green mountains and trees, and nearby was a gravel road overgrown with weeds and full of potholes. There wasn't even a track, and no sign of a train.
"Hey, what are you talking about?" Wang Yao, wary of himself, glared at Teng Wuji and shouted. What do you mean by "interesting"? Bringing him to this desolate mountain wilderness to be exposed to the northwest wind is interesting? That's blatant disrespect for immortals!
“Don’t worry, don’t worry, look…” Teng Wuji smiled nonchalantly and pointed to the ground in front of him, “If we had been any later, they could have built a little further, but that would have been the only way. If they went any further, they would have been easily discovered by the Shu tribe.”
Before Teng Wuji could finish speaking, Wang Yao saw the ground beneath his feet suddenly crack open into a huge, dark hole, and then a leather sofa that looked like a space chair suddenly jumped out of the hole.
"Please get in the car, Wang Xian." Teng Wuji smiled and gestured to Wang Yao with the seats.
"Little Teng, you're quite efficient this time. Our dedicated line isn't even fixed yet, and you've already brought people here." A chubby guy with a dusty face crawled out from underground not far ahead, spat out a big mouthful of phlegm, and turned to Teng Wuji.
"Master Lang instructed that efficiency is paramount!" Upon seeing this fellow, Teng Wuji changed his demeanor, suddenly straightening up with a serious expression and raising his right arm to shout.
"Efficiency is paramount!" The guy was stunned by Teng Wuji's words and, a beat too slow, raised his arm. After shouting, he lowered his arm and looked at Wang Yao, who was frowning as he stared at the airline seat.
"Leave the rest to me, your task is complete," the guy said.
"Please feel free to ride the Zhanghuang Express. The Zhanghuang team has put their heart into creating this service for you. There's no best, only better." Teng Wuji turned to Wang Yao and smiled, pointing to the airline seat. "Have a pleasant journey! I have some business at the embassy, so I can't see you off any further."
Teng Wuji politely said goodbye to Wang Yao and turned to walk towards his car.
"Please have a seat, esteemed guest. Only when you are seated can we get going." The fat man said to Wang Yao before Teng Wuji could even start the car.
Wang Yao calculated that he still had plenty of time to be a "good person," so there was nothing to be afraid of. He was indeed curious about this yellow express train, so he stepped forward and sat down in the airline seat.
