"There's nothing to say. You should hurry back to the Celestial Realm. We can discuss anything when you get to the Heavenly Court. You'll have plenty of opportunities to appeal there." The fairy slammed the call shut.
"Hey, hey, I have something to do, don't hang up!" Wang Yao called out as he opened the door, only to find a man in his fifties standing in front of him. His eyes seemed unfocused, cloudy and dim, making him look somewhat dazed.
"Who are you?" Wang Yao asked irritably. He was already feeling incredibly annoyed; he hadn't even said what he was supposed to say yet. What was he going to do next? Just slip away like this? And stand up all the branch clan leaders of Qingqiu?
And I wonder if the Liang tribe has any cross-border passages? Maybe I'll have to make another trip to the Shu tribe?
The man glanced into the room, sniffed as if trying to catch something, and then his unfocused eyes settled on Wang Yao's face.
"Are you... Yaozai?" the man asked.
“That’s right.” Wang Yao replied in astonishment. He never expected that this man would know his name and call him so affectionately. After becoming an immortal, he could basically remember everything he saw, but he couldn’t remember where he had seen this guy before.
"Why aren't you staying in the Immortal Realm? What are you doing here in the Demon Realm?" the man asked again.
"Who the hell are you? What business is it of yours?" Wang Yao was baffled by the man's question.
"Yaozai, you have to leave quickly, it's too dangerous here!" The man reached out and grabbed Wang Yao's arm. Wang Yao had entered the hotel room and his vigilance had dropped for a moment. He didn't immediately say "good guy" and the man grabbed his wrist.
"Wait, wait, who the hell are you?" The man was incredibly strong. With a single tug, Wang Yao lost his balance and was dragged outside the room. He cried out in alarm.
"Shh, keep your voice down." The burly man quickly stopped, pulled Wang Yao behind him, glanced around furtively, then turned back to look at Wang Yao with an expression that was neither a smile nor a cry. "Yao-zai, what's wrong? I'm your father!"
"Damn it, this son of a bitch is trying to take advantage of me!" Wang Yao was dumbfounded. How could the Liang tribe have such a scoundrel? He doesn't look like someone under military control at all.
"You're my dad? I don't know you! Are you a fox? I'm an immortal!" Upon hearing the big man call himself his dad, Wang Yao calmed down and tried to convince himself to be a "good guy" while asking questions.
This big man probably has some mental issues. After all, he doesn't look like a street thug who takes advantage of others. He probably has a kid named Yaozai at home, and he's confused himself with his son. But it's a bit strange that he actually managed to find his way to the hotel room to claim his son.
You should know that this hotel is not a chain hotel on the street, but a proper guesthouse of the Liang ethnic minority's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. If you don't have some skills, you can't even get through the door. This made Wang Yao extremely curious about the identity of this big man.
"Yaozai, what's wrong? Of course, Daddy is an immortal too!" The burly man stared at Wang Yao. "Son, let's not dawdle here. When we get back to the immortal realm, Daddy will find you something delicious to eat. Be good, okay..."
As the big man spoke, he tried to pull Wang Yao outside, but unexpectedly, the "good guy" acted up, and Wang Yao managed to break free from the big man's grasp.
"You're an immortal too? Who are you?" Wang Yao's eyes widened.
"Shh... Keep your voice down, keep your voice down..." The burly man looked around furtively, muttering to himself. "Don't make a sound, keep your voice down, don't make a sound..."
"An immortal?" Wang Yao stared at the big man, his heart skipped a beat. He hurriedly activated his "spiritual sense" and "sensory perception" to look at the big man, but the big man's level was too high and Wang Yao could not detect anything.
"Don't rush, come back to the room with me first." Wang Yao turned and walked back to the room. Although the hotel corridor was relatively quiet, there was no guarantee that a fox wouldn't occasionally pass by. The big man's identity was indeed suspicious, so he should investigate him thoroughly before making any decisions.
"You...you mustn't go back! It's too dangerous here. You should come with Dad..." Seeing Wang Yao return to his room, the burly man reluctantly followed him in, muttering to himself.
"Um... my memory's been a bit off lately. You say you're my father, that you're an immortal, do you have any proof? If you don't have any proof, I'll have to hand you over to the police station." Wang Yao said to the big man as he hurriedly closed the door after he entered the room.
“I dare not call the police station, the police station is full of bad guys! I...I dare not call...You...you don't have a good memory? Could it be...could it be that Yao is injured?” The big man first showed a frightened look, but then he became concerned about Wang Yao.
“I told you, don’t come to the demon realm, don’t come to the demon realm, but you wouldn’t listen. But it doesn’t matter, Yao, as long as you’re alive, that’s all that matters. No matter what injury you have, Dad will take you to see a doctor and make sure it’s healed! Let Dad take a look first, where is the injury?” The big man said, and his hands reached out to touch Wang Yao’s head.
"Wait, we're not even sure if you're my dad yet, don't do anything!" Wang Yao hurriedly dodged and shouted.
"Alright, alright, be careful. Dad won't lay a hand on you. Just show Dad your wound. I have some medicine on me, I can bandage it for you first." The big man hurriedly raised his hands when he saw Wang Yao's large movements, but he couldn't hide the concern in his eyes.
"Okay...you...you should first show me the evidence that you're my father, and then we can talk about other things, okay?" Wang Yao said patiently.
"That injury... we can't delay..." The big man stared at Wang Yao's head, still struggling with his thoughts.
"If you don't have any evidence, believe me, I'll call the Fox Patrol right now!" Wang Yao couldn't take it anymore.
