Chapter 370 The Girl

Before me lay a vast lotus pond, where the lotus flowers were in full bloom. A gentle breeze carried the fragrance of lotus leaves. In the center of the pond stood a sculpture of a bird with a strange pattern carved on its head, a white beak, and red claws, which looked quite similar to a crow.

Wang Yao found himself in a pavilion by a lotus pond, sitting on a soft recliner, surrounded by several young women dressed in flamboyant attire chasing and playing around him.

"Oh dear! He's awake!"

"He's awake..."

"Go report to the God Lord immediately..."

...

Suddenly, some women noticed that Wang Yao had opened his eyes. They hurriedly chattered among themselves, reminding each other, and then quickly resumed their cold and serious expressions, standing neatly on either side of Wang Yao. One of the women then hurriedly left.

"Um... excuse me, where is this place?" Wang Yao turned to look at the women standing beside him. Seeing that they were all beautiful and graceful, he felt a little confused and had no idea where he was.

The women didn't even blink when they heard Wang Yao's question, and none of them answered him.

Wang Yao struggled to sit up and found that his injuries had largely healed, but his spiritual energy was extremely depleted, making it incredibly difficult to even lift a finger.

Damn it, I think I only used "Fire Control" a few times before, and I even withdrew most of my spiritual power. I should have at least half of my spiritual power left, so why is it so depleted?

There was no spiritual energy in the air, so it seemed that this was still the realm of gods. Wang Yao nodded slowly as his memories gradually returned, but he was still extremely puzzled. He had been taken to some kind of sea-filling god, and it seemed that they had said they would interrogate him.

He wondered why he had ended up in this picturesque pavilion instead of in a prison cell. The thoughts of this sea-filling deity were truly perplexing.

He was standing there bewildered when he heard a flurry of footsteps. It was the woman who had just left, leading a little girl with two pigtails sticking up in the sky and a middle-aged woman into the pavilion, and they went straight to Wang Yao.

The little girl held a string of bright red candied hawthorns in her hand. Hu Biaobiao stepped forward, stared intently at Wang Yao with his big eyes, stuffed the candied hawthorn into his mouth, took a big bite, chewed it thoroughly, and then turned his head to spit out a few pits.

"Can you talk now?" the little girl asked, her mouth full of candied hawthorn.

Wang Yao looked at her and nodded.

"Then tell me, how did you get to Optimus Prime?" the little girl asked, taking another big bite from the candied hawthorn.

"I...I don't know either..." Wang Yao shook his head. This little girl was clearly looking for trouble. Gao Chong had kindly saved him, and he couldn't betray Gao Chong.

"You're lying!" The little girl spat out a few more pits and angrily shouted at Wang Yao.

"I'm not lying. You already know I'm a blacksmith. Why was I assigned to the Sky Pillar for the trial mission? How can I explain it clearly?" Wang Yao said weakly.

"Trial mission? What is your trial mission?" the girl asked, frowning.

“Kill the inferior demons, hold on… hold on for thirty days,” Wang Yao stammered in reply.

"This task... seems to be for Qi Refining stage cultivators, right?" The little girl, holding a candied hawthorn, turned to look at the middle-aged woman, who smiled and nodded at her.

"You still say you're not lying? How could a mission like this send you to Optimus Prime? Sending you to Wanghai City would be too far!" The girl shouted angrily at Wang Yao, pointing at him with a candied hawthorn stick that was almost poking his nose.

"I don't know either," Wang Yao said with a mournful face, pretending to be an unlucky victim as well.

"I, the God Lord, spent countless resources to lay out a grand plan with Optimus Prime, but it was ruined by a bunch of fools like you. In the end, your entry into Optimus Prime is the very source of the destruction of my grand plan!"

"I, the God Lord, have always been fair and just, and I have a clear sense of right and wrong. If someone forces you or tricks you into going to Optimus Prime, I will naturally go after the culprit. Moreover, since you saved my subjects in Optimus Prime, I might even give you some benefits."

"But now that you went to Optimus Prime on your own initiative without being forced or tricked, the culprit who ruined my grand plan can only be you. So I will hold you accountable. Do you accept it or not?"

The little girl brought her face close to Wang Yao's and said each word clearly, and Wang Yao could smell the sweet aroma of candied hawthorn in her mouth.

"I refuse to accept this! I absolutely refuse to accept this!" Wang Yao shook his head and cried out in grievance.

"Oh? You actually dare to disobey? Tell me why you disobey?" The little girl took a step back in astonishment, staring at Wang Yao with wide eyes as she asked.

“I already said I was doing a trial mission, but the trial mission didn’t tell me the location or let me choose. Going to Optimus Prime was something I was forced to do. The Forging Space is the real culprit. You should go and question it. What does it matter what I do? Of course I’m not satisfied!” Wang Yao shouted.

“That forging space is extremely strange, and I, the God Lord, have no way to question it. If I, the God Lord, had a way, where would you wicked immortals have the opportunity to forge?” The girl was stunned for a moment after hearing Wang Yao’s words before she murmured.

"You can't find fault with the forging space, so you want to find fault with me? Isn't that picking on the weak and bullying the immortals? And you ask me why I'm not convinced? Of course I'm not convinced, a thousand times, ten thousand times!" Seeing this, Wang Yao hurriedly seized the opportunity and cried out his innocence.

"What you say makes a lot of sense. It seems that I really can't punish you. Well then, you can leave. Consider it my bad luck." The girl stood there blankly for a moment after hearing Wang Yao's call, and actually agreed to let Wang Yao go.
