Chapter Forty-Eight: As Wish Fulfilled

Wang Yao searched his mind for the images that appeared when the mission described widowers, trying to find some landmark buildings so he could ask around.

However, aside from not seeming to see any temples, Wang Yao discovered that Ni Zhenlu's neighborhood was quite ordinary, with nothing particularly noteworthy about it. Left with no other option, Wang Yao decided to take a bus to the city center to make further plans.

The closer you get to the city center, the stronger the Buddhist atmosphere becomes in Xiangyun City. Whether it's a small garden on the street or a city park, golden Buddha statues can be seen everywhere. Monks and devout men and women come and go in groups throughout the city, with chanting and incense smoke everywhere, creating a bustling Buddhist atmosphere.

Wang Yao got off at a stop that seemed to have no temples, but when he turned around, he saw several middle-aged women carrying sachets on their shoulders hurrying away.

He looked closely and saw several middle-aged women cross the road and disappear into an alley opposite the station. Deep in the alley, he could vaguely see upturned eaves and corners, and there was a temple hidden in the depths of the street opposite.

Wang Yao knew that it couldn't be Ni Zhenlu's residence, so he decided to wander around the city and compare the sights with his impressions to see if he could find Ni Zhenlu.

I suppose Xiangyun City is just a county-level city under Caidu, so its urban area shouldn't be that big. I can just stay here a few more days; anyway, dealing with the case of the foreign student injured by the centipede in Huadu will take time.

Thinking this, Wang Yao strolled leisurely down the street, but before he could take more than two steps, a car across the street screeched to a halt, and a bald man stepped out. It was a man he recognized.

The bald man, dressed in silk clothes and holding Buddhist prayer beads in his hand, was none other than the swindler monk Ruyuan that Wang Yao had seen at the Wei Dafa Nalaofu Hetang Avenue store.

Ru Yuan got out of the car, nodded to the driver, and watched the car leave. Then he turned around, but instead of moving, he took out his phone and started playing with it.

Wang Yao didn't know if Ru Yuan had seen him, but a few days ago at the Lekoufu Hetang Avenue store, Ru Yuan strode around with her head held high and didn't even look at Wang Yao directly. Wang Yao guessed that even if Ru Yuan saw him now, she probably wouldn't recognize him.

It's not exactly close from Huadu to Caidu. Wang Yao was genuinely curious as to why a great master from Huadu, a monk who had returned to secular life from the eighteen temples of Yunling, would come all the way to Caidu.

However, he had more important things to do, and he didn't have a good impression of either Ruyuan or Wei Dafa and his wife, so he was too lazy to bother with those matters. He glanced at Ruyuan and was about to walk on his own, but unexpectedly, he stopped with a frown as soon as he lifted his foot.

It turned out that Ruyuan had only been playing with his phone for a few seconds when he looked at Wang Yao with his phone in his direction. Wang Yao thought that Ruyuan had recognized him, so he hesitated. If Ruyuan greeted him, should he exchange a few pleasantries with him?

He knew absolutely nothing about Xiangyun City, so if he happened to have any monk friends there, they could offer some help in finding Ni Zhenlu.

He hesitated there, but then he saw that Ruyuan had already looked away, glanced around, and actually walked directly across the street with his phone in hand. Wang Yao thought to himself, since the other person had already come over, it would seem too pretentious to avoid him. He should greet him and see what the master had to say.

Wang Yao stood there watching Ru Yuan walk towards him. He was about to force a smile and greet her with "Greetings, Master" when he saw Ru Yuan walk straight past him, her eyes fixed on what was behind Wang Yao.

Turning his head, Wang Yao saw that behind him, across a non-motorized vehicle lane, stood an antique three-story building with the words "Listening to the Sutras Tea House" written on a plaque in the middle of the building. He then saw Ru Yuan stride into the tea house.

Oh... so this master came here for tea. I thought he had recognized me. Wang Yao chuckled to himself, watching Ru Yuan's figure disappear in front of the teahouse. Just as he turned to leave, he saw another nun emerge from the alley across the street.

The nun, also holding a cell phone, looked around as she crossed the road and walked straight toward Wang Yao.

Upon seeing this, Wang Yao's professional matchmaking skills immediately kicked in. He keenly realized that this nun had come to see Ruyuan. Damn it, this nun's nunnery should be in the alley. Why couldn't she say something in the nunnery instead of sneaking out here?

Wang Yao's gossip-loving heart immediately blazed up. This was a matter concerning monks, far more exciting than ordinary lovemaking. It turned out that Master Ruyuan was hiding such a little secret. He had to find out!

As the nun brushed past him and was about to enter the teahouse, Wang Yao hurriedly followed her inside. Inside, there were many tables and chairs on the first floor, with a few customers drinking tea and chatting. The nun didn't linger on the first floor and went straight up the stairs to the second floor.

Wang Yao was stunned for a moment, then quickly followed the nun upstairs. This teahouse was also a place with spiritual energy. As soon as he entered, the system asked him again if he wanted to absorb spiritual energy.

Wang Yao currently has over 30,000 points of spiritual power, which is more than enough. In addition, the fire of gossip in his heart is burning fiercely, so he has no desire to absorb spiritual energy. Peeping is much more interesting than this.

"Liqinxuan." At the corner of the stairs on the second floor, the nun whispered to the waiter who came up to greet her. The waiter hurriedly gestured for her to go upstairs, then turned to look at Wang Yao who came up next.

"Sir, how many people are in your party?" the waiter asked.

“Um…” Wang Yao hesitated for a moment, then pretended to look at the layout of the second floor of the teahouse.
