His mind settled down again. He went into the bus station intending to buy a ticket to Caidu Xiangyun City. However, when he asked at the ticket window, he learned that Caidu Xiangyun City was not close at all. The bus station only had one bus a week, and it had already left. If he was in a hurry to go, he would have to take the high-speed rail.
This was because Wang Yao had only recently transmigrated and was completely clueless about the world. There was no other way; staying in Huadu risked being summoned for questioning by the police at any time, so it was best to leave as soon as possible. He hurriedly rushed to Huadu High-Speed Railway Station.
After buying a high-speed train ticket to Caidu, Wang Yao didn't wait long in the waiting hall before hearing announcements over the loudspeaker. Following the flow of people, Wang Yao boarded the train, found his seat, and, having little luggage, sat down to look around and watch the excitement.
The high-speed rail in this world, like the one in the world he came from, is a novelty. The carriages are clean and tidy, just like airplane cabins. The attendants on the high-speed rail are all pretty and wear uniforms, much like flight attendants.
He was shaking his head, comparing what he saw in this world with his impressions of the world before he traveled there, when suddenly a commotion came from the other side. People rushed to the back of the carriage, which was already narrow, and the surge made it completely blocked.
Curious, Wang Yao walked from the front door to the platform and looked back. He saw a large crowd gathered at the entrance of the next carriage, making a ruckus. He had no idea what had happened.
He quickly went over and squeezed into the crowd. He saw a woman sitting where the train door connects to the platform, with one leg inside the train and the other on the platform, lecturing the train conductor.
"Young lady, how can you be so unreasonable? You have no conscience, no morals, no manners. What kind of education did your company give you? Is this how you treat passengers?"
The woman's voice was so loud, and she was spouting all sorts of grand pronouncements about reason and morality. The young flight attendant standing in front of the door was speechless with grievance, her eyes filled with tears.
"What's going on? The train is about to leave, what are you all making a scene for? Get on the train now!" A man in a train conductor's uniform pushed his way through angrily.
“I let her get on the train, and that’s how she…” the young female train attendant said to the conductor with tears in her eyes.
"My dad had an upset stomach and had to go to the restroom. What's wrong with waiting for him? Is your high-speed rail supposed to serve passengers? Without passengers, how would you survive? If a passenger has an upset stomach, shouldn't you wait for him? If he misses his train, will you reimburse his ticket?"
The woman sitting on the ground shouted in a righteous tone.
"No... Our high-speed trains have strict time requirements for departure. What you're doing is delaying everyone's time..." The train conductor blinked, somewhat flustered by the woman's questioning, and decided to patiently explain the policy to her.
"Wasting everyone's time? Who wasted? Anyone who says it was wasted, let them step forward! My dad is so old, and he has a bad stomach. Who the hell dares to say my dad wasted his time? If he misses the train and something bad happens to him in the rush, I'll make him take responsibility!"
The woman suddenly widened her eyes and shouted fiercely at the people around her. The onlookers couldn't help but take two steps back; no one dared to take responsibility for this.
"Why are you being unreasonable? High-speed trains depart on time, that's the rule! Your commotion is delaying the trains behind you, delaying everyone... Get out of the way!"
The train conductor's eyes widened as he saw the accompanying police officers approaching. Knowing he couldn't reason with the woman, he tried to drag her away with the officers.
"What kind of system? Does the system disregard human feelings? Does the system lack humanity? Is the system inanimate, and are people inanimate too?... Ah!"
The woman was arguing eloquently when she felt the conductor's hand on her shoulder. Instantly, she grabbed the carriage door frame and screamed as if she had been stabbed.
"Ah! Help! The high-speed rail police are being indecent! The high-speed rail conductor is trying to rape a woman! Help!" The woman's voice was extremely loud, and Wang Yao was terrified. He felt as if the woman was being raped, and he couldn't help but want to back away.
"What are you yelling about? I didn't even touch you." The police officer and the driver were also frightened. The police officer was quite annoyed. The driver had even put his arm around the woman's shoulder. He hadn't even put his hand on her, yet he was accused of harassment. Who could he reason with?
"You look like you're here to harass me. I don't care, whoever touches me is a scoundrel!" The woman said aggressively, glaring at the police officer.
"What are you looking at? What are you looking at? Get back on the bus right now, we're about to leave." The conductor had no choice but to shoo away the onlookers.
"Yes, yes, you all go back to the bus. My dad will be here soon. Respecting the elderly and caring for the young is a social virtue. People in Huadu are the most civilized." The woman's expression changed, and she helped the bus driver persuade the onlookers to go back to the bus.
"Oh dear, I'm so sorry! I have a bit of an upset stomach today... Girl, why are you sitting on the ground?" Just as the two sides were at an impasse, and the train conductor was anxiously trying to call for backup via walkie-talkie, an old man came over, trembling.
Upon seeing the woman sitting on the ground, the old man's expression immediately changed.
"Oh dear, this is so dangerous! Last time we had an accident in a car. You're so careless. You're sitting right by the door. What if the car starts moving? What will happen to you?" The old man nagged and scolded the woman.
"Get on the bus quickly, everyone! Everyone, get on the bus! You...aren't you getting up? Isn't your father coming?" The bus driver breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the woman's father arrive and quickly called everyone to get on the bus.
