"Oh..." Wang Yao was stunned for a moment. Seeing that no one in the room, including Xi Fu, took the initiative to speak, he had no choice but to take out 100 yuan from his pocket and hand it to Wang Laoshi. Wang Laoshi took the money and happily went downstairs, heading straight for the exit of Fanrong Lane.
Wang Shouxin then woke up as well. He was puzzled that he had only lasted for about twenty seconds. He didn't ask for money and went down to the teahouse to wait for his turn.
And so, coming and going, the entire beast-fighting operation proceeded in a tense but orderly manner. Wang Yao was already familiar with the operation, so it was just a matter of course. He would call the main debate hall a few times for each person in the teahouse. In this way, the waiters from the two teahouses went back and forth, ensuring that the main debate hall was always full of people.
Meanwhile, another truckload of day laborers arrived, and soon Tang Meifeng also arrived. Wang Yao had no choice but to pick up Tang Meifeng and take her to the seed players' rest room.
"Hello, my surname is Jiao." When Jiao saw a woman approaching, his smile became much more sincere, and he introduced himself to Tang Meifeng in a soft voice.
"Is this also your friend?" Tang Meifeng frowned as she looked at Wang Yao.
"I guess so. This guy isn't very bright. He likes to introduce himself to everyone he meets. Don't get me wrong, his surname really is Jiao," Wang Yao explained, his face slightly red.
"Oh, I thought this kid was going to try to seduce me as soon as we met." Tang Meifeng nodded, while Jiao Gu blinked to the side, seemingly not understanding how simply introducing himself was considered sedition.
“He just has a bit of a mental problem, but he’s a very honest person. He wouldn’t dare, so don’t worry about it.” Wang Yao shook his head repeatedly, but then pointed to the seeded players’ lounge to remind Tang Meifeng. “However, there are a few people inside who think they’re here to be on TV. Be careful when you chat with them, so you don’t let anything slip.”
"On TV? What's going on?" Tang Meifeng frowned and looked at Wang Yao.
“The people inside are all professors, and they absolutely refuse to do anything that doesn’t benefit them. I had to lie to them and persuade my friend that this was going to happen on television before they agreed,” Wang Yao explained quietly to Tang Meifeng.
"Oh, it seems you've really gone to great lengths for your friend, even managing to get her on TV?" Tang Meifeng was quite surprised to hear this.
"It's all fake, like a TV show shoot. It'll never air. It's just a smokescreen. Don't believe it. Advise people to be the masters, advise people to be the masters," Wang Yao said in a low voice.
Tang Meifeng nodded. She knew that Wang Yao was an immortal and wanted to see the magical place of an immortal. She then went into the seed players' lounge with Jiao Gu, while the debate in the main debate hall was still in full swing.
In reality, it couldn't even be called a debate; it was practically a one-sided massacre by the professor. The professor maintained her beautiful young woman persona, and practically no worker could last a minute in front of her. If a worker's head hadn't turned green after thirty seconds, Xi Fu would have been shouting "miracle!"
When the number of temporary workers who had joined reached sixty or seventy, Wang Yao noticed that their tenure was quietly increasing, and they were no longer simply asking, "What did I come here for?" when they came out.
Instead, many other questions emerged, such as "Who am I?", "What should I do?", "What do I want to do?", and so on. These philosophical questions began to appear frequently, indicating that before the professor started to bewitch them, he had already allowed the temporary workers to say a few words.
As long as the professor lets others speak, his mental power will be unconsciously influenced by them, which is a major turning point.
"Good sign. The professor is starting to doubt his own abilities. Judging from the situation, this professor probably hasn't reached the top level yet, right?" Xi Fu asked with a smile to himself.
According to their initial estimate, if it were a top-level professor, it would be impossible for the professor to have self-doubt without more than a hundred cannon fodder. However, after only sixty or seventy cannon fodder were sent in, the professor began to have self-doubt. Therefore, Xi Fu also began to doubt the professor's level.
"Get ready. After the regular players last one minute, Wang Yao, send in a seeded player to try," Xi Fu called out.
"Okay!" Wang Yao replied, switching the iPad to the seed players' lounge. "Jiao Gu, listen to my instructions, let that tall guy, Professor Jiang, go in first."
Jiao Gu agreed and walked over to the tall Professor Jiang.
"Professor Jiang, inside is still Professor Yang's assistant. She basically defeated all our industry contestants in the first round of debates. We'd like to invite you up there to teach her a lesson. What do you think?"
"Debate with Yang Quanxing's graduate students? On what grounds? I'm here to debate with Yang Quanxing. What qualifications do his graduate students have to debate with me? I'm not going." Professor Jiang shook his head, resolutely refusing to participate.
Jiao Gu then went to persuade the other professors, including the withered woman, and they all showed disdain. It was already agreed in our agreement that we would only debate with Professor Yang. His assistant? Sorry, although I can completely defeat her, I have no interest.
When Jiao Gu saw that the professors were still quite arrogant, he had no choice but to secretly communicate with Wang Yao about sending Tang Meifeng up. Wang Yao quickly shook his head, saying that Tang Meifeng was a trump card and it would be a waste to use her now. After thinking about it, he called Chen Ke, Zhao Risheng, and Wang Yongjin instead.
Now that we've entered a strategic stalemate, it's time to address the issues concerning these three individuals.
Chen Ke and the other two had been waiting for a long time. As soon as they heard Wang Yao's call, they rushed over. The timing was quite coincidental. No sooner had they arrived than a temporary worker managed to hold out for a minute in front of the professor. The professor even got him to talk about how difficult life was these days and how his son needed to build a new house for his wedding.
So this guy came out and kept nagging, "Should we cover it or not? Should we cover it or not?"
"The three of you need to do something. Someone will lead you into a recording studio to participate in an event. Just remember one thing: try your best to debate or argue with the main guest inside. Whatever method you use, the longer you persist, the better the results will be."
