Not long ago, Chitose would happily rush towards him whenever she saw him.
Ling Shen looked at Qian Sui's current state, his head lowered, the light that used to shine in his eyes when he saw him before was gone.
She looked like a wronged kitten.
Just as Ling Shen was about to ask her a question, he heard Zhang Shaochuan's voice coming from not far away.

Zhang Shaochuan's voice rang out from not far away, and footsteps gradually approached.
Chisui looked up at the direction from which the footsteps came, as if a savior had arrived, and was about to speak.
But just as she was about to speak, Ling Shen reached out and covered her mouth.
Qian Sui's mouth was gagged, and her eyes widened as she stared incredulously at Ling Shen in front of her.
She smiled, made a shushing gesture, then put her other arm around Chitose's waist, pulled her to her feet, and then slipped behind the curtains behind the bookshelf.
Ling Shen hid behind the curtains with Qian Sui, using the curtains to cover their bodies.
The instant he covered their bodies with the curtains, Zhang Shaochuan appeared in the spot where they had just been.
Qian Sui was hugged by Ling Shen, and her mouth was covered.
Zhang Shaochuan outside seemed to be pacing back and forth. He looked around and wondered, "Strange, he clearly said he came here to find books."
Qian Sui was hugged and tried to struggle, but as soon as she moved, Ling Shen gently pinched her waist.
Ling Shen rested his chin on Qian Sui's shoulder, leaned close to Qian Sui's ear, and said in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Don't move."
