"Also, could you please set a password for my computer?"
"No problem, but not today. Let's go back home for dinner; everything's prepared at home. I'll come over Sunday night and we can get it ready then?"
"Okay, whatever your schedule."
Anne led Zeng Zhongkang in, saying, "Hello, Mr. McCann. Hello, Aunt Huang."
"Heh, you're home now and you're not coming in? Are you waiting for Annie to come and invite you?"
Zeng Zhongkang awkwardly scratched his head. Could it be that he didn't want to greet anyone, which was why he didn't come in? It seemed like he couldn't say that.
Huang Meihua didn't ask for any reason; it was just some everyday conversation.
"Annie, your father and I just discussed it, and we think we should go home for dinner."
"Very good."
"Yes, your Aunt Chen has prepared everything for you. I'm sure you'll like it."
"Mom, let's go then. Uncle, could you help me with my luggage?"
“Alright, Godmother, Carlos, I’ll take Annie and leave first.”
Huang Meihua smiled and nodded. "Go ahead, Annie has been waiting impatiently. Have a wonderful holiday."
"Mother, do you have time tomorrow?"
"I have time."
"Could you come with me to visit the farm and ranch?"
"Sure. I'll come see you tomorrow."
The three of them got into the car, and Annie kept talking, "Mom, I miss you so much, really. I want to call you every day, but Dad always says you're too busy, and I'm afraid of bothering you, so I hold back."
Zhang Hongmei patted Annie's head and said, "Annie, you can call me. You can do it after seven o'clock every day."
"Is it really possible every day?"
"Of course, Mom will have already finished school and dinner by then, so she can chat with you. But it will only last for half an hour at most."
"Yay! That's great. Mom, I won't hold you back, will I?"
"Of course not, I need to rest too. I can't always be studying and working, can I? We need to balance work and rest, then we can achieve twice the result with half the effort in everything we do."
"Hehe, Mom, I know both of the idioms you mentioned! Grandma has told me about them."
"My Annie is so smart."
"Mom, is that a media player in the front seat?"
"Yes, that's why I was late today. It's a pity I didn't get to see the photos and film."
"It's no pity. Dad said they'll all be delivered on Sunday, and you'll see them that day."
The two chatted all the way, and Zeng Zhongkang felt that he couldn't get a word in edgewise, but he was already very happy just listening to them talk.
"Mom, I told my classmates that my mom is taking me to school on Monday, and they all envy me. I also asked around, and my mom is the only one who goes to Peking University."
"Haha, Annie, you still remember B University?"
"Of course I know, that's my goal, and I want to go to that university in the future."
“Okay, my Annie is ambitious. Mom supports you and will keep an eye on you.”
"I will also accept my mother's supervision and will definitely work hard. My mother can go to that university, and I can too."
"Yes, our Annie can definitely do it."
Zeng Zhongkang felt he should also express, "Yes, Annie will definitely get into Peking University. Your uncle believes in you."
Annie smiled happily after hearing what the two said. Children need adults' recognition and affirmation a lot.
When the three arrived home, Annie received a warm welcome from everyone, especially Cheng Guangxi, who picked her up and lifted her very high.
"Uncle Cheng, let's do the lift-up game a few more times! I love this game!"
Cheng Guangxu would of course grant Annie's request, and he only put the little girl down when he felt too weak to continue.
"Uncle Cheng, you're so weak! Dad can lift it twenty times, but you only managed ten. That's way too much!"
Cheng Guangxu felt utterly wronged; how could he have put in so much effort and yet not receive any praise? It was heartbreaking.
Everyone burst into laughter, and Cheng Guangxu felt extremely embarrassed. "Annie, don't worry, Uncle Cheng will definitely work hard to train."
"You'd better hurry up, or I'll be too big for you to lift me."
The crowd burst into laughter again. Listening to their conversation, it seemed that Cheng Guangxu was being masochistic on his own.
Zhang Hongmei and her sister are truly mother and daughter; both are incredibly eloquent, leaving Cheng Guangxu utterly speechless.
Wang Xinyi laughed enough, "Alright, let's go wash our hands and eat!"
"Thank you, Grandma Wang."
"Hehe, Annie is so well-behaved. Did your grandma tell you to call me Grandma Wang?"
"No, aren't you my grandma's sister? Then I should call you grandma, right?"
"Yes, that's it. How can my Annie be so smart? It's so endearing."
"Aunt Chen, my mom said you made my favorite dish today. I wonder what it is?"
"Hehe, Annie, your curiosity is too strong, isn't it? You're about to find out soon, aren't you?" Cheng Guangxi couldn't help but tease Annie.
Annie stuck out her tongue, looking adorable.
Shen Yunfang especially loves children, so she bent down and whispered a few words in Annie's ear, and the little girl laughed even more happily.
Today, Shen Yunfang really made a special dish that Annie loves to eat.
Beef meatballs are poached and topped with chopped green cilantro, making them look incredibly appetizing.
Almost every dish contained meat, and there was even a boiled pork slice dish, which was what really made Annie unable to stop eating.
Zhang Hongmei looked at the little girl's bright red lips from the spiciness and said, "Annie, you should eat less spicy food; it's bad for your skin."
"Mom, I'll only eat it today, I won't eat it again, it's so delicious."
After the meal, everyone ate more because the little girl had led them to eat more.
They had just finished eating and hadn't left the restaurant when Zhao Tiancheng returned.
"Grandpa Zhao, you're late."
"Hehe, Annie Baby is here? That's great, my family has a new source of joy today."
"It's alright, Grandpa can eat whatever he wants, as long as Annie Baby eats well, Grandpa Zhao will be happy."
Zhao Tiancheng's words made the little girl beam with joy.
Shen Yunfang then brought out a plate of beef with onions and a plate of stir-fried lettuce. Both of these dishes were already on the table today, so Annie didn't pay much attention to them.
The three men helped Shen Yunfang clear the table, but none of them left; each had a glass of milk in front of them. They were all keeping Zhao Tiancheng company.
It was quite a coincidence that just as Zhao Tiancheng picked up his chopsticks, Zhao Haozheng and the other two returned. They were almost an hour earlier than usual today.
Shen Yunfang immediately went back into the kitchen and cooked two more dishes, which should be enough for the four of them.
"Haozheng, why are you here so early today?" Wang Xinyi asked her son in confusion.
