Zhang Shouyi will definitely be able to help me accomplish it.
He has plenty of ways to do things, so I don't need to worry about coming up with excuses for him.
Zhang Hongmei lay happily in bed, took out her photo album, looked at the familiar faces in it, and felt especially happy.
That's just how people are. When they're happy, looking at photos makes them feel happy. When they're sad, looking at photos makes them feel nostalgic.
I miss everyone I know; I really miss them.
Zhang Shouyi hadn't told him that the men from Wyattroy had arrived, so it meant they hadn't. He really hoped they would arrive safely, and that if they could make a good start, things would be much easier afterward.
I let my mind wander for a while before finally going to sleep.
The next few days were the same as always.
It wasn't until Friday afternoon after school that Zeng Zhongkang strongly insisted on becoming the driver.
"Okay, I'll drive out first and be back in an hour. You can wait for me at home."
Seeing Zhang Hongmei's insistence, Zeng Zhongkang knew she might really be in trouble, just like the time she brought him something last time, so he didn't refuse.
Zhang Hongmei drove directly to the mall, laughing all the way. It's always like this; because she drives a nice car, all the other cars and pedestrians avoid her, giving her a taste of what it's like to be rich.
Upon arriving at the mall, Zhang Hongmei bought two projectors. The clerk kindly helped her carry them to her car, and Zhang Hongmei felt really bad about it, so she gave the young man a five-yuan tip. Seeing his delighted smile, she felt she hadn't given too little.
Hehe, now I'm qualified to give a tip too. I smiled all the way home. When I was almost at the door, I took a special look around. There was no one around. Besides, the car windows were tinted, so people outside couldn't see inside. So I put away the projector with peace of mind. This one is for Zhang Shouyi. I just don't know when the film will be ready.
Zeng Zhongkang was relieved to see that Zhang Hongmei had returned safely. He got into the driver's seat and drove her to McCann's house.
Annie had been waiting for Zhang Hongmei. Actually, she wanted to call her mother every day, but her grandma, grandpa, and dad all said that it would affect her mother's studies, so she held back. She wanted to be a good child and didn't want her mother to dislike her.
"Annie, stop pacing around, Grandma's getting dizzy. Your mom promised to pick you up today, and she definitely will. Just sit on the sofa and wait."
"Grandma, I don't want to eat at home anymore. Aunt Shen from Mom's house cooks so well."
"Okay, then go eat at your mom's house. Uncle Bruce will be really upset to hear that you don't like his cooking."
Annie was still a child, and after hearing her grandmother say that, she immediately felt a little guilty.
"Hehe." Huang Meihua chuckled, patting Annie's head. She's still just a child!
"Grandma, I heard a car? Is that Mom coming home?"
"I don't know. Maybe your dad is back."
And it really was Carlos McCann who came back. He entered the living room, saw his daughter's disappointed expression, and felt very hurt.
"Annie, don't you welcome Daddy back?"
"How could that be? I just thought it was Mom."
"Don't worry, your mom will definitely come, but she'll have to wait until school is over!"
Anne nodded, kicking her suitcase with her toe.
Carlos smiled helplessly. Had she packed everything up and was just waiting to leave? To ease his daughter's low spirits, he said, "Annie, the photographer and videographer will bring the photos and film over on Sunday. You'll see them when you get back that night."
"Really? That's wonderful! Mom will be so happy too."
"Hehe, as long as you're happy."
"Mom, where's Dad?"
"Still playing games? Seriously, you're getting old and still obsessed with games."
"Hehe, I'd love to play too. It looks really fun. Mom, you can try it if you're ever bored."
"What password did your dad have Hongmei set for his computer so that no one else can use it?"
"Really, I'll go ask my dad. If possible, I'll ask Hongmei to set one up for me too. I have a lot of computer secrets."
"Hehe, go ask him. Your dad's being so mysterious, he won't tell me."
Carlos smiled at his mother, then got up and went to his father's study.
"Dad, I'm coming in."
"Enter."
"Dad, I heard from Mom that Hongmei set a password for your computer?"
"Yeah, I think it's pretty good."
"Dad, if you keep doing this, Mom will get angry. You're too addicted to games."
"Heh, that's what she said?"
That's roughly the idea.
"Hehe, I know. Hasn't Hongmei arrived yet?"
"No, Annie is getting impatient."
Suddenly hearing Annie's scream, the two quickly went outside and shook their heads helplessly at the scene in the living room.
When Annie heard the car, she was afraid of being disappointed, so she didn't ask her grandmother or go out to look. She just sat on the sofa with her head down.
A moment later, she heard her mother calling her, and then she excitedly screamed.
She jumped off the sofa, rushed to Zhang Hongmei's side, and hugged her leg tightly. "Mom, you're finally here."
"I'm sorry, Mom is late."
"It's okay. Grandpa, Grandma, and Dad all said you're very busy with school, so I forgive you."
"Hehe, thank you for your understanding, Annie."
"Hello, Mother. You look even better."
"Hehe, really?"
Zhang Hongmei nodded.
"Mom, shall we go to your house for dinner?"
"Sure, but we should say goodbye to our families before we leave, right?"
"Yes, Grandpa, Grandma, Dad, Mom and I are leaving."
"Annie, how about we invite Mom over for dinner today? Daddy wants to talk to your mom about something."
"Oh, Mom? Why don't we stay at home and go back tomorrow?"
"No, your great-uncle is still waiting for us in the car."
"Then I'll go and call him down for dinner. Dad, I can only lend you Mom for half an hour. If you have something to say, talk to me quickly."
"Okay, Dad will try his best."
Having received her father's permission, Annie happily ran out to call Zeng Zhongkang.
"Carlos, what do you want with me?"
“I met with Wyatt today, and we discussed it and decided that it would be better for him to handle this matter.”
"Hehe, I have no objection. I won't get involved in any business matters. You guys handle it as you see fit."
“That works. The research group will be set up in a secluded place. We also have our own trained computer personnel. Let’s select group members from among them first. That would be safer.”
Zhang Hongmei nodded, indicating that she really had no objections; they were all their own people, and they were easy to manage.
