Chapter 955 Liu Jianguo

"Yao Yufen, let's get a divorce."

I will not leave.

"Heh. You won't get a divorce? If you don't, I'll go to the neighborhood committee and the police station. I'll ask them if a woman who's been secretly supporting her family and even hits her mother-in-law can stay married?"

"I didn't do it on purpose. Besides, I didn't even lay a hand on it that day. It was an accident, an accident."

“I don’t care about the reasons. All I know is that my mother almost died, and when she found out that you, this woman, were in trouble, she actually abandoned the child and ran away.”

“Jianguo, I was terrified. I really didn’t mean it. Besides, when I went to my house, I didn’t see anyone. It’s my house. What right do you have to change the locks?”

At this point, Yao Yufen lost her temper again.

"I'm getting a divorce right now. If you agree and don't want the child, I'll give you 500 yuan. But if you want the child, I'll still give you 500 yuan, and I won't be responsible for raising the child. Think about it yourself."

"I disagree with neither of them. I'm not getting a divorce."

"Fine, then I'll go to the police station. I'm going to sue you for assaulting my mother. And I'll demand you pay for her medical expenses."

"Liu Jianguo, how could you do this to me?"

"Then how should we deal with it?"

"You weren't like this to me before?"

“You used to pretend in front of me. I never knew you were such a traitor, and such a hypocrite at that.”

Yao Yufen, you've completely fooled me, don't you feel a great sense of accomplishment? Do you think I'm just a fool?

"Jianguo, how can you say that to me? Can't I just help my mother's family?"

“Fine. Why not? But you shouldn’t be mean to my younger siblings or my parents. You shouldn’t have secretly hidden all the money in the house and tried to fool me.”

"I don't?"

"Let's stop arguing. If you don't want to divorce, fine."

After Liu Jianguo finished speaking, he glanced at Yao Yufen with disgust, as if she were something filthy, and turned to leave.

"Liu Jianguo, stop right there! You can't do this!"

But no matter how much Yao Yufen called out, Liu Jianguo didn't stop walking and left without looking back.

Yao Yufen was genuinely afraid that Liu Jianguo would go to the neighborhood committee or the police station, so she chased after him.

"Liu Jianguo, I agree to the divorce, but I want the house."

Liu Jianguo gave a sarcastic smile, shook off her hand, and continued walking forward. This was Yao Yufen's true nature.

"Liu Jianguo, what happened to our past relationship? Is this how you treat me? I'm your wife, the mother of your son."

Liu Jianguo remained silent and continued walking forward.

Yao Yufen could also see that Liu Jianguo was determined not to want her anymore.

"Liu Jianguo, I don't want the house, but you have to pay back the money my mother's family owes and give me another five hundred."

"Your mother's money?" Liu Jianguo looked at Yao Yufen sarcastically.

“I’ll give you 500 if we resolve this peacefully. But if things really escalate, I won’t even give you 500.

"Liu Jianguo, we've been married for almost four years, I've been with you for four years, and in the end you treat me like this?"

Liu Jianguo remained unmoved; the more he liked her back then, the more he loathed her now.

"Then go ahead and sue me. I absolutely refuse to agree."

Liu Jianguo completely ignored Yao Yufen's threats. Having lived together for four years, he knew her well enough.

Yao Yufen followed behind Liu Jianguo and realized that he had indeed entered the police station.

"Liu Jianguo, I agree." Yao Yufen gritted her teeth. She decided to agree anyway. She wondered how Li Cuihua was doing. If something really happened to her, she would get nothing.

The two went to the Civil Affairs Bureau. But they didn't get any mediation, and within fifteen minutes, they were strangers.

"Come to the cotton mill gate at eight o'clock tomorrow morning and wait for me. I'll give you the money." After saying that, Liu Jianguo left without looking back.

Watching his departing figure, Yao Yufen left the Civil Affairs Bureau like a ghost. Divorced? She was divorced! How was she going to live from now on?

I thought of my mother's family; they would definitely sell me out. As long as someone offered money, they would never care about my wishes.

Furthermore, although the money was given by myself, once it reached their hands, it had nothing to do with me anymore.

If I give them 300 of the 500 yuan, I definitely won't be able to keep the remaining 200. I absolutely cannot do that; I absolutely cannot go back.

The next day, I saw Liu Jianguo come out of the door.

"I need to go back and pack my things. It'll only take an hour."

"Then wait a moment, I'll have someone come with me." Liu Jianguo didn't care about Yao Yufen's unpleasant expression. He went into the cotton mill and called out his colleagues, a married couple.

Yao Yufen felt humiliated, but what could she do? So she kept her head down the whole way and didn't say a word.

I returned to my old home. Everything seemed different now.

"Hurry up, we've worked the night shift all night and need to go back and rest."

Yao Yufen packed all her clothes, bedding, and belongings into two large bags. She cried as she packed, but none of the three people paid her any attention. They just stared at her.

Since things had come to this point, there was no need to say anything more. Finding a carrying pole, Yao Yufen carried it and left.

"Jianguo, you're really divorced!"

"Um."

What will happen to the children in the future?

"It's just that my parents are the ones who have to work hard."

"Why don't you find someone else?" the woman advised Liu Jianguo.

"No, I don't have that thought right now. We'll talk about it when the kids are older. Wait a few minutes while I pack some clothes and head back to my dorm."

Yao Yufen carried her luggage and went straight to the train station. She had no particular destination in mind; she simply asked the ticket seller and bought the farthest train ticket that would allow her to depart immediately.

Liu Maocai breathed a sigh of relief when he saw his wife looking refreshed. The couple had never argued in their lives, but this time his wife had suffered greatly. Seeing that she had finally recovered, he felt fortunate, but also resentful towards his son.

Li Cuihua was playing with her grandson. The child was very well-behaved and wouldn't cry as long as someone was around.

"Husband, go and fetch a basin of hot water, and fill the thermos as well. Give this child a bath."

"Cuihua, you shouldn't overwork yourself. The doctor said you need to rest."

"I'm fine. It's hot, and the child won't feel comfortable if he doesn't take a bath. Besides, it's just the two of us here. Let's get ready quickly before anyone else gets on the bus."

In the end, Liu Maocai listened to Li Cuihua. He helped bathe and change his grandson's clothes, and even washed them.

"My lord, what will happen after the nation is established?"

"Do whatever you want. If we get divorced, we'll take the kids back to Liujiatun. If we don't get divorced, it'll save us a lot of trouble."

"You're just being stubborn, aren't you? You can just stand by and watch your son suffer?"
