"Hehe, that's a good idea. And with me too," Huang Meihua said happily from the side.
Carlos McKen smiled and left. The ladies sat together discussing dress styles, and Zhao Tiancheng immediately adopted the enthusiasm of a host, chatting with Beth McKen.
A big shot is a big shot. Zhao Tiancheng felt that the other person's questions were sharp and to the point, and he felt that he had benefited a lot.
When Shen Yunfang returned, the two older ladies went into the kitchen, and Wang Xinyi wanted to personally make meat pies for Huang Meihua.
Zhao Tiancheng was now in a panic. His wife was already getting on in years, and he would regret it if anything happened to her.
Zhang Hongmei was very relieved by Zhao Tiancheng's nervousness. "Uncle Zhao, don't worry, I'll go help in the kitchen."
"Mom, I want to go too."
"Thank you, Hongmei. I was worried about you, Aunt Wang."
"Come on in, Mr. McCann, please have a seat." With that, he took Annie's hand and led her to the kitchen.
Finally, Wang Xinyi and Huang Meihua were kicked out of the kitchen. Wang Xinyi thought the meat filling Shen Yunfang made was even more fragrant than hers, so Zhang Hongmei coaxed her out.
Of course, Zhang Hongmei also came out, because the tailor who makes dresses had arrived.
Finally, they chose the most conservative dress, and all three of them wanted the same style. In the end, for the sake of effect, Huang Meihua chose black, Annie chose white, and Zhang Hongmei chose bright red.
"Madam, I will deliver the dress to your home tomorrow afternoon, along with matching shoes and gloves. Do you need us to arrange a makeup artist?"
"Okay, let's go together." Huang Meihua finally nodded.
Zhang Hongmei doesn't care about makeup at all, and doesn't know how to apply it. She's young and beautiful now and doesn't need cosmetics. If the occasion is too formal, she'll just apply some lipstick.
Finally, Huang Meihua gave Cheng Guangxu and the other two a suit each. Miao Xinyue and the others also received two conservative dresses, both pure white.
The tailor checked the height and build of the three men, as well as their shoe sizes. He also noted down the approximate height and shoe sizes of the two girls. Of course, he didn't forget Zhao Haozheng and his son. Only then did he leave with a smile.
Of course I had to laugh. There were five sets of clothes for the men and five sets for the women; that was no small number.
Zhao Tiancheng was a little conflicted, but Huang Meihua gave him a blank look and said, "As your sister-in-law, why are you making excuses when I'm offering you a set of clothes?"
Zhao Tiancheng's phone immediately ran out of power. He then spent a long time pleading with Huang Meihua before the matter was finally settled.
"Mom, can I go play some games?"
“Of course, come on, let’s go upstairs. Mr. McCann, please have a seat, I’ll take Annie upstairs to play.”
"Hehe, can I come along? Annie, can Grandpa come too?"
Annie nodded, and Zhang Hongmei had no objections either, so the three of them went upstairs together.
Seeing that there was nothing for them to do, Zeng Zhongkang and the others simply went back to their rooms to study.
Beth McKen went to Zhang Hongmei's study, sat down at the computer with her granddaughter, and watched Annie skillfully turn it on and search for games. She felt quite happy.
"Mom, it's 9:30 now, I'll quit at 10:30."
"Hmm, very good, you don't need Mom to remind you, right?"
"Of course not, I'll keep track of the time myself."
"Okay, I'm going to read now. Call me when it's time."
Anne very consciously turned the volume down to the lowest setting. Beth McKen felt relieved; it seemed Anne would have to spend a lot of time with Zhang Hongmei from now on. It had only been a few days, and Anne had already changed a lot.
"Grandpa, look, Mom designed all of these. Aren't they amazing?"
"Hmm. That's really great. You play by yourself, Grandpa's going to chat with your mom."
"Grandpa, why don't you play with me? Mom says she doesn't like being disturbed when she's reading."
"Hehe, now that I have a mother, my heart is all on her side."
Annie just smiled, her hands still clicking away on the keyboard.
Beth sat to the side, finding it increasingly interesting. She even wanted to try it herself for a while. Looking at the time, she realized her granddaughter still had half an hour; she'd better wait until she finished before giving it a go.
Zhang Hongmei flipped through the computer books she had bought from the bookstore. School starts the day after tomorrow, and she needed to get her thoughts organized. If she could achieve something in the group, maybe she could graduate early.
I miss home, and I miss everyone I know. I really want to go back as soon as possible.
After adjusting my focus, I concentrated entirely on my book. With Annie joining the group, my time became even more limited.
Beth McKen kept looking at her granddaughter's results and wondering if she could get past this hurdle.
When the time came, Annie peeked out and saw Zhang Hongmei engrossed in reading. She turned to him and asked softly, "Grandpa, would you like to give it a try?"
“Of course.” The two switched places, with Annie standing next to her grandfather, occasionally whispering reminders to him.
The three of them didn't put down what they were doing until there was a knock on the door.
Annie ran over and stood next to Zhang Hongmei. "Mom, I'll stop playing after an hour."
“Annie, Mom is limiting your time because I’m worried about hurting your eyes. I don’t want to see my angel wearing glasses.”
"Okay, I'll leave the computer after I'm done playing next time."
"That's right, that's a good boy. Let's go downstairs for lunch. Mr. McCann, lunch is ready, please take your seat."
Beth McCann reluctantly left the computer. "Hongmei, I'm fascinated by these games. They're so interesting. Your game company is sure to be a huge success."
"Hehe, thank you for your kind words. If you like it, I'll copy it to your A drive for you in a bit, and you can install it on your computer when you get home. However, you mustn't share it with anyone else; this is the first game our company is launching."
"Hehe, don't worry, I still know the trade secrets. Just go over tomorrow and install Snake for me. I'll play the rest when the company's games are released."
"It's alright, I'll install all of these for you. Nobody touches your computer usually. Besides, it's all code, and only professionals can understand it, so don't worry."
There was another knock on the door, and the three of them opened it and went downstairs.
"Mom, it smells so good!"
"Mmm, it smells delicious. Annie should eat more today."
“Yes!” Annie nodded.
Zhang Hongmei thought today's meal was just average in terms of abundance, but for Huang Meihua, it was all her favorite food.
"Bess, try this authentic Chinese food! I'm so clumsy, I've never been able to make it taste like this in all these years. Even without eating it, I know it's many times better than any Chinese restaurant." Huang Meihua warmly greeted her husband. She knew that her cooking wasn't usually very good, and this time she wanted her husband to experience true deliciousness!
