Chapter 23 is really stupid.

She quit her job and stayed at home. Her topics of conversation were nothing more than her children and vegetable prices. Mrs. Tong was not just a mother. She turned her interests into a job, had her own pursuits and social circle, and disliked Sun Lifang's dullness and uninterestingness.

Mrs. Tong doesn't open up to her. In her previous life, Sun Lifang didn't understand. She warmly welcomed Mrs. Tong's children to her home and treated people with sincerity. She clearly did nothing wrong, so why was Mrs. Tong so indifferent?

Zhou Xinya had no playmates and really liked Mrs. Tong's daughter. Sun Lifang specially prepared snacks and soft drinks for them on the weekend so they could have fun. However, her daughter waited all day but no one came.

One day, Sun Lifang ran into the little girl and extended the invitation again. The little girl shook her head and said she had something to do. Only after Sun Lifang pressed her for details did the little girl shyly reveal the reason.

Her mother wouldn't let her play with Zhou Xinya.

Later, Sun Lifang understood that adults also make comparisons and treat each other's children differently based on the parents of the other party.

Even later, their family became even wealthier than Mrs. Tong's family.

The other party still looked down on them, and their contemptuous attitude prevented their child from playing with Zhou Xinya.

Sun Lifang's attitude made Zhou Yunshi feel a bit annoyed. It was like this again. Businessmen like them needed a capable wife to help them build connections and exchange information, which would make things much easier.

He opened his mouth, but before he could finish speaking, he changed the subject: "How have you been lately? Has your son been bothering you?"

Sun Lifang lay down, pulled the thin blanket up a little, and forced a smile. Her heart ached. What son?

Her son and daughter are both flesh and blood of her body, her precious children.

Sun Lifang tilted her head slightly and said in a low voice, "I am feeling a little uncomfortable. The doctor said that we can do some parent-child interaction and prenatal education later, and the baby will be more well-behaved."

"Hmm." Zhou Yunshi touched his protruding belly and asked, "When are you going for your prenatal checkup? I'll see if I have time to accompany you."

"Don't delay your work, I can do it myself."

Sun Lifang refused outright, saying that Zhou Yunshi had acquaintances at the hospital who could determine the sex of the fetus.

Whether she looks at it or not, it's all the same. She's determined to have this child, so why bother?

"Look at you, why are you like this again?" Zhou Yunshi didn't understand why his wife suddenly had a dark expression. He hadn't said anything wrong.

Other wives like their husbands to be with them, but my wife is exceptionally independent and different from others.

.

Having enough money, Sun Lifang called her mentor, Wang Heng, to ask for leave.

Knowing that she was planning to look at apartments, Wang Heng praised her for her good taste and agreed to let her take leave.

After hanging up the phone, someone nearby, seeing his beaming face, asked him what good news he had. Wang Heng glanced at them sideways and said, "Someone wants to buy a house. Do you want one?"

The person asking the question chuckled awkwardly and quickly made their escape.

Just kidding, that plot of land is in a new district, there's nothing there, yet it's being sold at that price.

It looks like the countryside. Why not go back to my hometown and build a couple of rooms so my parents can live there too?

Wang Heng slammed his fist on the ground. "You short-sighted brat, you'll regret this later."

After Sun Lifang finished her phone call with her craftsman, she went to the fabric shop to select materials.

It has a dazzling array of tens of thousands of patterns, and even just the silk alone has hundreds of different varieties.

Because of Sun Lifang's attire, several sales clerks greeted her as soon as she entered, asking, "Boss, what do you want?"

The lead saleswoman took out a row of new materials from the glass cabinet below, assuming she was there to buy new stock, and spoke to her in a very eloquent manner.

"I want to make a shawl for my friend." Before going to university, Sun Lifang made most of her own clothes. She doesn't know if she's gotten rusty after not doing it for so long.

Driven by sheer enthusiasm, Sun Lifang selected a black and white houndstooth fabric with a shimmering sheen.

Now it's not about giving gifts to others anymore; it's more like completing a craft project. Tailoring is one of Sun Lifang's few hobbies.

"Then take a look yourself first." The other sales clerks scattered in a flurry, leaving only one idly following behind Sun Lifang. Before long, she turned and went to the door to greet other customers.

"Hello, do you have any favorite fabrics?"

The saleswoman who had just been pushed to the back missed out on the new customer at the door. Seeing that no one was following her, she ran over and introduced herself, "My name is Xiao Xu. Feel free to ask me anything you don't understand."

Xiao Xu wasn't disappointed that she only chose one item; her interest remained high, and she enthusiastically introduced it to her: "This is a new material from overseas, it just arrived this morning, it's pure silk, it's skin-friendly and breathable."

Sun Lifang pointed to another one: "Take that one out and let's take a look too."

"Huh?" Xiao Xu looked over and paused for a moment, then quickly explained, "For shawls and scarves, houndstooth is a better choice. This one has been sitting around for a long time and nobody wants it. I can give it to you cheaply if you want it."

The fabric is a dark color, reminiscent of the bold and vibrant colors of European oil paintings, making it difficult to pull off.

The dark color is one thing, but the main problem is that it's covered in various flowers, with the entire fabric covered in them. Even an old lady who likes colorful things wouldn't buy it, let alone today's young people.

Xiao Xu was afraid that she would be taken advantage of, so he took the initiative to speak up.

Sun Lifang simply smiled and asked, "Does this style come in other colors?"

Seeing her serious expression, Xiao Xu said "Wait a minute" and ran to the back warehouse to bring over the other colors as well.

The plastic film on the fabric was covered with a layer of dust. Sun Lifang watched as she peeled off the film.

Revealing the vibrant, jungle orange beneath, her gaze deepened: "Is this all there is?"

"Wait, let me go ask." Xiao Xu's movements had already attracted the attention of the other colleagues in the store.

A colleague glanced at Sun Lifang furtively and said, "You're asking for so much, you're definitely not going to buy it. Are you stupid?"

Xiao Xu is a newcomer; he's been at the store for almost a month and hasn't made a single sale yet.

Everyone here has their own order follow-up. It's hard for newcomers to make a name for themselves without resources. Her colleagues' nagging didn't affect Xiao Xu's mood. She brought out all the color schemes.
