"What are you doing, you stinky Chen Yu?!"
Wang Yue gently patted Chen Yu's hand, and Jiang Yang immediately ran over, "What are you saying? You're laughing so happily, let me hear it too."
Chen Yu turned to look at Jiang Yang, and was surprised to find that his hairstyle was so round, like a watermelon. She couldn't hold back any longer and started laughing out loud, pointing at Jiang Yang's hair. Jiang Yang, somewhat confused, pushed Wang Yue away and asked, "What's wrong with her? Did she go crazy after taking a nap?"
"I don't know, I just feel like I've gone crazy."
The two nodded in unison. Chen Yu smiled even more broadly at their interaction, then suddenly realized she'd traveled back to high school. It seemed like only she could be doing something so trendy now...
Ding-a-ling, ding-a-ling, the school bell rang on time.
"Alright, students, summer vacation is coming soon. Your class representatives will distribute your summer homework. No one is allowed to slack off. I will check each one of you."
The English class representative carried in a thick stack of summer homework, and the students in the front row conscientiously helped distribute it. Chen Yu took out her phone from her bag, and time went back to her second year of high school, before that incident! Was this a chance for heaven to give her a second chance?
Chen Yu looked around, searching for Shen Yan's figure. Finally, she saw his familiar back in the first row of the first group. She rested her chin on her hand and stared blankly at his back. As if sensing her gaze, Shen Yan turned around, and their eyes met immediately. Chen Yu's heart started pounding, and she quickly picked up a book from the table to shield her face. Her action made Shen Yan pause, and then he put on an icy expression.
The school bell rang.
All the girls ran out of the classroom as if their lives depended on it. Jiang Yang plopped down on the desk behind Chen Yu and asked, "So, where are we going tonight?"
"Let's not go out tonight. I'm exhausted from playing yesterday. Chen Yu even dozed off in class."
Wang Yue rubbed her sore eyes. Last night, the three of them sneaked out to go online in the middle of the night and didn't get home until after 2 a.m. She felt like she was going to break apart if she kept going like this.
“I agree. Let’s rest tonight. My dad seems to be going home.”
"Alright, I'm off then, buddy?"
Jiang Yang had barely finished speaking when he grabbed his schoolbag and ran off. Chen Yu and Wang Yue didn't even have time to say goodbye before they also packed their bags and left the school.
Chen Yu and Wang Yue lived next door to each other. They parted ways at the intersection. Chen Yu nervously pushed open her door and saw Shen Yan mopping the floor. He looked very serious. Chen Yu only saw him when she reached the entrance hall.
Neither of them spoke, and Chen Yu took off her schoolbag and was about to go upstairs when Chen Yan straightened up. "Chen Yu, Uncle Chen told Aunt Liu that they went on a trip, and it's just the two of us at home during the summer vacation."
"Hmm? Hmm, I understand."
