He went upstairs in the dark. The light in Chen Yu's room was on. His relaxed mood became a little tense again. He went up and knocked on the door. "Chen Yu, are you hungry? I'm late."
After knocking several times with no response, Shen Yan wondered if Chen Yu was angry and deliberately refusing to open the door.
He went downstairs intending to cook first, and then call Chen Yu when he finished. He turned on the kitchen light and saw the takeout boxes on the floor.
It turns out she had already eaten.
Shen Yan was too lazy to cook anymore, so he simply went downstairs and found a restaurant to eat at.
After ordering his food, Shen Yan sat down and looked at his phone. He opened Chen Yu's chat window and wondered if he should explain to her that he had been kept after school by his homeroom teacher and that's why he hadn't been able to go home to cook.
After thinking it over, he turned off his phone. Perhaps Chen Yu didn't care about any of this.
They haven't spoken to each other for more than ten days.
After finishing his meal, Shen Yan returned home. The living room lights were still on as they had been before he left. Chen Yu hadn't come out either. After washing up, he went back to his room. The school exams were tomorrow, and he hadn't had time to review yet.
Chen Yu studied for a long time, but felt that she couldn't learn a single word. She also didn't listen to what the teacher said in class today.
I feel that Shen Yan's explanation is easier to understand.
Given their current situation, she felt too embarrassed to ask, in case his girlfriend got jealous.
Chen Yu simply lay on the bed playing on her phone, and fell asleep halfway through.
She woke up at six in the morning. Looking out the slightly bright window, she decided to get up early and go to school to study. The school atmosphere was more conducive to her studies.
Chen Yu changed into her school uniform and went downstairs. Unexpectedly, Shen Yan got up earlier than her. The two inevitably glanced at each other. Chen Yu quickly looked away, intending to wait for Shen Yan to come out of the kitchen before going in to find something to eat.
She sat on the sofa in a daze, waiting for a long time, but Shen Yan still didn't come out. She was getting a little impatient, and her stomach had been growling several times.
Footsteps came from the kitchen, and Shen Yan came out carrying breakfast. "Come and eat."
Chen Yu originally intended to cook for herself and would never eat what Shen Yan made, but because she was so hungry, she couldn't help but eat the breakfast that Shen Yan made.
