For several days in a row, Jiang Yang studied at home. Ma Qi hired the best tutor for him. He had a strong learning ability. He could basically understand most of the questions after being taught once. When the tutor told Ma Qi this, she was overjoyed. It meant that as long as Jiang Yang was willing to study, he could get into university.
"Son, hang in there a little longer. Things will be easier once you get to college."
"Okay, Mom. I want to go to the same school as Wang Yue and Chen Yu."
Ma Qi looked at Jiang Yang with satisfaction; this child had really grown up.
Wang Yue would occasionally ask Chen Yu some questions, and if Chen Yu didn't know the answer, he would have Shen Yan explain it to Wang Yue.
Ever since Wang Yue learned that Jiang Yang had also started taking extra classes, her fighting spirit was ignited. Every day after returning home, she would either study or read novels.
Soon it was time to go to the training camp.
Shen Yan had packed Chen Yu's things the night before, but Chen Yu hadn't lifted a finger and had been studying at her desk. She only noticed the mess after Shen Yan had finished packing.
The next morning, Shen Yan knocked on Chen Yu's door. "Chen Yu, get up. We need to be here early today."
Chen Yu hummed in agreement, turned over, and closed her eyes again.
After Shen Yan finished washing up and came out, he saw that Chen Yu's door was still locked, and he knew that he would be late today.
"Chen Yu, you're late."
One sentence made Chen Yu jump out of bed. She quickly changed her clothes and opened the door.
Shen Yan waited for Chen Yu to rush into the bathroom, then went in, took out her suitcase, and carried it downstairs to wait for her.
Chen Yu ran very fast. She hastily wiped her face with a towel and ran downstairs. She hurriedly put on her shoes and was about to leave when Chen Yan grabbed her arm. "No need to rush, we're already late."
Old Wang waited for a long time but Chen Yu and Shen Yan didn't appear. It was almost time to leave, so he simply let the two of them go by themselves.
Chen Yu stared wide-eyed at the message Lao Wang had sent, "So what do we do now?"
"Let's take a taxi."
The two were talking quite loudly downstairs, which Chen Le, who had just gotten up, overheard. He rushed downstairs and said, "Kids, don't worry, your uncle is here! I'll make sure you get there before the bus today!"
Chen Yu's lips twitched. Fortunately, Chen Le had been here these past few days.
Chen Le treated the two to breakfast before driving to the training camp. Chen Le turned the music up to the maximum volume and even played a DJ set.
Chen Yu frowned and patted Chen Le on the shoulder, "Uncle! My ears are about to explode!"
"Oh, okay, I'll keep my voice down then."
Chen Le then remembered that the two children couldn't stand such a loud DJ, so he immediately turned the volume down to medium and blasted the music all the way up.
It took about an hour to get there.
Chen Yu and Shen Yan stood at the door and looked around. Old Wang and the others really hadn't arrived yet. Chen Le was driving very fast.
"Then you guys wait here. I'm leaving now. If you don't go home, I won't go home either."
Chen Le waved to Chen Yu and Shen Yan, put on his sunglasses, turned the volume up to the maximum, and strode away.
Chen Yu shook his head as he looked at the car's rear end. When would this uncle ever mature?
The two waited at the entrance of the training camp for about 20 minutes before the school bus slowly drove in. When Lao Wang saw Chen Yu and Shen Yan, who had arrived even faster than them, he was almost speechless with surprise.
"How did you two get here so fast? You didn't even send me a message."
"Teacher, we only waited for 20 minutes."
"Alright, alright, you two go back to the team."
Chen Yu dragged her suitcase to Wang Yue's side and stood there. Jiang Yang, wearing sunglasses, stood next to Wang Yue with a lifeless expression. When he saw Chen Yu arrive, he only slightly raised his head and did not react otherwise.
"What's wrong with him?" Chen Yu whispered in Wang Yue's ear.
"He's still half asleep. He got angry with me when I told him to get out of the car."
Wang Yue turned her head away speechlessly. Jiang Yang's spoiled temper had gotten worse after he'd been home for a few days.
"Alright, students, follow me in, and don't fall behind."
Old Wang was shouting from the front with a megaphone.
Their class was the third to enter the training camp. Soon after, their instructor arrived and the dormitories were quickly assigned. Eight people shared a room with other classes. Fortunately, Chen Yu and Wang Yue were assigned together.
But the other six girls were from different classes, and Ma Qi was almost assigned to one of them.
Jiang Yang and Shen Yan weren't so lucky. They happened to be assigned to the same dormitory as Li Chang. As soon as Li Chang entered the dormitory, he loudly said "bad luck." Although Jiang Yang was very angry, he still ignored him.
Shen Yan wouldn't pay any attention to him either; he basically treated him like he was invisible.
Chen Yu and Wang Yue were planning to hide their phones, but the instructors were quick and came in with boxes to collect them. Many students who tried to hide their phones were caught, and the consequence of being caught was that they had to run two laps outside.
"Oh, my manhood!"
Wang Yue looked at her phone that had been taken away. How was she going to sleep at night without it?
"It's alright, it'll only be three days. Your manhood will be back in your hands soon."
Chen Yu patted Wang Yue's head. Before they could say more, the whistle blew outside. They immediately put on their shoes and ran out. If they were any slower, they would probably be punished by running again.
Jiang Yang followed Shen Yan intentionally or unintentionally, not because he wanted to, but because Shen Yan was the only person he knew.
Shen Yan did not refuse, but remained silent as always.
"Students, I will be leading your training for the next three days!"
The instructor rattled off a whole bunch of things, but Chen Yu didn't listen at all, staring blankly ahead.
It wasn't until the instructor selected Shen Yan to be the flag bearer that she realized that she wasn't very tall in the class, so she was assigned to the first row, and Shen Yan was standing right in front of her.
What an incredible opportunity!
Chen Yu stared blankly at the back of Shen Yan's head. She carefully examined Shen Yan; he was nearly 180 cm tall and looked tall and strong. She felt that he seemed to have gained some weight recently.
"Now stand at attention!"
Wang Yue nearly fainted. What was the difference between this and military training? Her mind started to wander. Should she fake fainting? That way she could skip all this training.
Suddenly, I felt a slap on my hand. "Put your hand away!"
Wang Yue finally came to her senses, feeling a burning pain in her hand. This instructor really went all out; it hurt terribly.
After standing for about 20 minutes, the instructors finally told them to rest.
Li Chang looked at Shen Yan with some displeasure. He was about the same height as Shen Yan and was even more muscular than Shen Yan. Why was he chosen as the flag bearer? This instructor hadn't even bothered to make a proper selection.
Jiang Yang felt incredibly pleased to see Li Chang's sour face.
The morning training went by quickly, and before we knew it, it was lunchtime.
