Chapter 3
Subduing these despicable scum of the Estoraneo family, then reporting them, filing complaints, and sending them to prison – a complete service. Even if I can't kill them myself, I'm in a very good mood right now.
After doing all this, Rokudo Mukuro felt as if he were possessed by a messenger of justice. He was so different from those filthy Mafia members. He was truly a "good person." Even after spending decades in the Vongola, he would never stoop to the level of the Mafia.
He didn't send them to hell; that was his mercy, giving them time to atone for their sins, even if it meant waiting for death in prison and enduring the endless torment that time brought them. Thinking about it that way, he was truly magnanimous. Rokudo Mukuro shook the pineapple leaf on his head and laughed out loud in a good mood.
After Chigusa and Inu returned, Rokudo Mukuro told them about the current situation and gave them two choices.
He could either stay and wait for the Vongola to take him in. Even if he hated the Mafia, he had to admit the Vongola was different. They never did anything inhumane. Since Sawada Tsunayoshi took office, he'd wanted nothing more than to legalize all the shady businesses.
Especially during the first two years after Sawada Tsunayoshi took office, he was constantly on edge, fearing that he would end up in jail and get a good beating from his tutor.
It is precisely because of this that the children used as experimental subjects are able to live well under the protection of the Vongola. Even if they cannot live the life of normal children, they will live a relatively free life, a hundred times better than they are now.
Either follow him and wander the world together, living a life of poverty, hardship, and uncertainty. Even if it's not as miserable as he describes, for Rokudo Mukuro now, a childhood without chocolate is just that bleak.
"Lord Mukuro, of course we'll follow you." Chigusa and Inu's eyes shone as they stared intently at him, as if gazing upon their god. Even knowing the future was uncertain, they rushed towards him without hesitation. In their previous life, Rokudo Mukuro had given them no choice; they could only rely on each other for survival. But now, even with different choices, Rokudo Mukuro would still be their only option.
Even though Rokudo Mukuro already knew in his heart that they would choose to go with him, when he heard Chikusa and Inuyasha say without hesitation that they would go with him, his mood couldn't help but improve, and a pure smile appeared on his lips:
"Kufufufu, let's go, or we won't be able to leave."
If we wait any longer, the people from the Avengers Prison and the Vongola will arrive.
Rokudo Mukuro used genjutsu to erase all traces of the three of them being present. He wasn't worried about the subtle details being discovered, since he would likely have many more interactions with them in the future. And he now had the ability to conceal his whereabouts.
………………
Chisuke and Inu fantasize that after they leave together, they will live a life of wandering, hunger, and lack of clothing.
They weren't afraid. In their eyes, none of that mattered. What mattered was being with Mukuro-sama, who had saved them from darkness and death, and receiving the light and freedom they desired. That was enough. And they would work hard to earn money to repay Mukuro-sama. This was Chikusa and Inu's truest thought.
But they never expected that their god and savior, Lord Mukuro, would do something so...shameless! He actually took the two of them to stage an accident involving an old man, who turned out to be a powerful Mafia assassin!
Chigusa and the dog showed no outward expression, but their inner voices were screaming with delight.
Rokudo Mukuro had planned this from the beginning. He brought two companions to northern Italy and scouted the location of the mission in Lancia beforehand. Then, he used illusion magic to create the illusion that the three children were being chased, and they ran into Lancia who had completed their mission.
Three poor, pitiful children are being chased by bad guys, and that's when a hero has to step in. If it weren't for the mismatched character portrayals, the scene would be a perfect opening for a romantic drama where the hero saves the damsel in distress.
Given Lanchana's absolutely kind nature, he would never have let the three children be chased by bad guys. At the very least, he would have helped them drive the bad guys away, asked about their family situation, and tried to help them find their families.
Rokudo Mukuro was determined to seize this opportunity! He especially loved bullying honest people.
In the end, thanks to their weak, innocent, and pitiful appearance, and their helpless and tragic background, this highly skilled, fierce-looking but simple-minded, kind, and easily deceived assassin uncle took them in and brought them home.
Rokudo Mukuro did it on purpose, of course. He knew that this family wasn't like the Vongola family, who loved doing charity work, taking in children, providing them with food and clothing, and letting them grow up happily.
This family is only training weapons. Children with great talent are nurtured with utmost care and grow up to become the family's most powerful and effective weapons. Lancha is one such successful example.
Children without ability are worthless in the eyes of this family boss. Their fate is self-evident; in the eyes of certain people with peculiar tastes, children are very valuable. They just handle it very discreetly. So, Lancha, this big, simple-minded guy, has been kept in the dark all along.
In his previous life, Rokudo Mukuro was taken back by Rancha's boss, who discovered his extraordinary talent for illusion magic and entrusted him to Rancha's care. It was during that time that he discovered the secrets of this family.
They were still after him, and at that time, Rokudo Mukuro hated nothing more than being used. The fact that the Mafia, whom he loathed most, wanted to use him again made him finally snap.
Then, using the power of the Rinnegan, he controlled the kind, sincere, and stubborn Lancha, and used him to kill everyone in the family.
He admitted that he wasn't a good person; in some ways, he was even a wicked person at heart. Therefore, he manipulated Lancha, using him to achieve his own goals, without telling him anything about the family.
But this time was different. Being someone with a penchant for the wicked, he wanted to see what someone whose beliefs had crumbled looked like. And not to try and help him out.
So the person chosen by Rokudo Mukuro was exactly the same as in his previous life—that gullible Rancha.
"Uncle Lancha, can you really take us home?" The innocent and adorable Rokudo Mukuro looked at the man who used to have a fierce face with anticipation.
Chigusa and Inu huddled behind Rokudo Mukuro, feigning fear at Rancha's presence. But in reality, their eyes were vacant, and they were furtively glancing at Rokudo Mukuro. It was terrifying. Was the Mukuro from before and the Mukuro standing before them now the same person?
Rokudo Mukuro, who looks like a child but is over 60 years old inside, shows no embarrassment whatsoever. He's adept at feigning helplessness, playing innocent, acting cute, and being charming. What is shame? Is it as delicious as chocolate?
"Uncle Rancha, I want to eat that chocolate." Rokudo Mukuro glanced "cautiously" at Rancha, then at the chocolate in his hand, and couldn't help but make the request, his eyes almost overflowing with longing.
Chocolate, bring it to me right now!
Lancha looked at the three "poor" children in front of him, who had been chased by villains and had just bumped into him. He couldn't help but step in and save the three children.
Looking at them, Lancha couldn't help but think of his own childhood, when he was just as disheveled. He was fortunate enough to be rescued by the boss and raised by his family, which led to the person he is today.
He couldn't help but soften his heart. After finding out the background of the three children, he readily agreed to take them home.
Lancha handed the chocolates he had to Rokudo Mukuro, forcing a smile onto his fierce face: "Mukuro, and Chigusa, and Inu, you can eat them together. I'll take you home. The people at home are very nice, they'll all like you."
Rokudo Mukuro smiled shyly yet expectantly: "Really? Uncle Rancha..."
Lancha nodded with absolute certainty: "Of course it's true."
A hint of pity flashed in Rokudo Mukuro's eyes: What a clueless sucker!
"Hey, old man! You're not going to take us to buy things, are you?" Chigusa and Inu both knew that now was the time to swindle and deceive. First up was the straightforward Inu, who used a direct approach to break down the other's guard.
Under Rokudo Mukuro's onslaught, they already had very little guard up...
"Dog, don't talk nonsense, Uncle Lancha, I'm sorry, Dog didn't mean it." The steady Qianzhong intensified his offensive.
"It's okay, I'm not a bad person." As a mature adult, Lan Zheng was not angry at all. On the contrary, she felt that it was a good thing for the child to be vigilant.
"Uncle Lancha is definitely not a bad person; he saved us." Rokudo Mukuro said, trying to be cute.
Then, this sucker became completely overwhelmed by the onslaught of human cubs, utterly defeated, and thereafter worked tirelessly without complaint.
Few were surprised that Lancha brought three children back to the family. After all, most of them had done it before.
And so, Rokudo Mukuro and his two companions successfully staged an accident and settled down in Lancha.
In Rokudo Mukuro's view, Rancha was completely unsuitable for this family. He was only staying there to repay a debt of gratitude to the family leader for raising him. Little did he know that this so-called debt of gratitude was merely a transaction, and many dark aspects were simply not yet revealed to him.
Rancha would be a good fit for the Vongola, the Vongola led by the "weak" Sawada Tsunayoshi. Kind, gentle, and completely unlike a Mafia member after his transformation.
During this time, Lancha provided food, drink, shelter, and transportation for Rokudo Mukuro and the other two children, taking care of them in every way. He genuinely liked these three children.
Rokudo Mukuro was also well-behaved and obedient, never causing him any trouble. He often helped Rancha with housework at home, although he was directing Chikusa and Inuyasha while he nestled on the sofa eating chocolate.
He often looked at Lancha with an adoring gaze, perfectly portraying the image of a weak, innocent, cute, and pure child.
This series of actions left Chisuke and Inu completely bewildered. If they weren't alone, Rokudo Mukuro would still act the same way he always had, and they would have thought he had been switched at birth.
"Lord Mukuro, do you have a plan?" The dog, mopping the floor, looked at him pitifully, his eyes full of expectation for his answer. He had absolutely no desire to do housework right now.
"A plan? Of course I have one. I'll tell you after you finish mopping the floor." Rokudo Mukuro nestled in the living room sofa, a piece of chocolate in his hand, eating it while supervising the work. "Kufufu, do a good job, don't slack off."
Chigusa, holding a rag, looked at the silly-looking dog. After hearing Rokudo Mukuro's words, she became incredibly energetic and worked very hard, even complaining that he was too slow and doing his share as well.
Chigusa pushed up his glasses, the reflection from the lenses obscuring his idiotic gaze. Inuyasha was truly too easily fooled in front of Mukuro-sama.
Not long after, the dog started shouting, "Lord Mukuro! I've finished all the work." After saying that, he looked at Rokudo Mukuro with an expectant expression.
"Kufufufu, my plan is that it's getting late, I should go to sleep." Yes, that's right, I ate too much chocolate, I should brush my teeth before going to sleep.
He was forced to go to the dentist by the Vongola gang, and then mocked, something he never wanted to experience again.
