Chapter 36 Ordering Food
During the summer vacation, the streets of Yokohama were filled with people like a beehive, with tourists from all over the world gathering together. The Shanlin Gate with its red eaves and flying corners was packed with people, and even Sister Ling had to invite relatives from her hometown to help.
"Two more cans of ale!" the diners shouted loudly, clinking their beers.
“Here we come!”
The petite girl, holding plates half her height in both hands, nimbly navigated the crowd until she finally reached the counter. Before she could breathe a sigh of relief, Sister Ling's voice landed with a thud, "These are for table number six."
Feng Jian glanced at the menu and muttered quietly: "These uncles can really drink."
"Stop talking nonsense," Sister Ling smiled and poked her forehead with the end of her pen, "Why don't you just take it over to the person."
"Got it!"
She reluctantly agreed, picked up two plates with both hands and rushed out. Sister Ling's voice rang out behind her, "You little girl, don't bump into anyone."
She didn't bump into anyone, but she couldn't stop others from bumping into her. She noticed someone standing up drunk, and Fengjian quickly turned her hand, but her elbow was hit hard by the person behind her, and the ale in her hand almost fell out of her hand.
"Hey you..."
"Be careful of others." The man glanced at her and muttered, but there was no intention of apologizing.
Fengjian frowned slightly, pursed his lips, and quickly glanced at Sister Ling who was busy at the counter and didn't notice this side. He took a deep breath and safely delivered the malt liquor to table number six.
"It's really unlike you not to fight back, ahhhh"
Another voice interrupted, its clear voice penetrating the sweet smell that filled the store.
Kazama looked up and saw Atobe standing in front of her, followed by Oshitari and others who were smiling and greeting her. They were still wearing the uniforms of the Hyotei tennis team.
Atobe crossed his arms over his chest, glanced at the person, and his eyes fell on her right hand, "Just now, your elbow was injured, right, Kabaji."
“Usu.”
Feng Jian subconsciously pressed his left hand against his right hand, "I'm fine."
After saying this, he was about to leave, but when he passed by someone, he was grabbed by the right hand.
The pain was like an electric current running from his elbow straight to his brain nerves. Feng Jian bent his elbow slightly, took a breath, turned his head and stared at him angrily, "What are you doing?"
The discussion was clamoring. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Yue Ren exclaiming, "What a scary look!" as he moved behind his partner. There was also a glimpse of someone looking over at him from the counter. Kazama had to lower his voice, "What on earth do you want to do?"
"You haven't changed at all in your stubbornness," Atobe said, staring at her with a slightly raised eyebrow, without letting go, "Kabaji, go help."
“Usu.”
Fengjian was startled, watching Huadi walk past her and walk towards the kitchen, "Wait..."
"Don't make trouble," Atobe let go of her hand, "Now can you introduce your restaurant's signature dishes to me?"
Feng Jian turned around in surprise, "You guys are here to eat?"
The Ice Emperors behind him burst into muffled laughter.
The corner of Atobe's eye twitched, "Put away that unattractive expression on your face, sir."
A moment later, Feng Jian placed the menu on the table and pointed his pen at a few dishes. "The signature dish is almond tofu. Authentic Chinese delicacies include mapo tofu, scallion pancakes, and pickled pork with preserved vegetables. In the summer, Sister Ling's sour plum juice is also very good..."
After a long introduction, Kazama looked up. Everyone in Hyotei's group looked at her and Atobe, then back at Atobe, waiting for their captain's reaction.
"The picture and text are consistent?" Atobe raised his eyebrows.
"Don't cheat anyone." Fengjian raised his chin.
"Those things you mentioned just now..." He spoke a little slower, curling his lips. The smile at the corner of his eyes made his teardrop mole brighter. "I only want half of each. You can pick whatever you want from the rest."
I couldn't help but hold my forehead and laugh.
A black cross appeared on the corner of Kazama's forehead. He repeated "The customer is king" three times in his mind before putting on a kind smile again. "Atobe-kun, there's no such thing as a half portion in this restaurant, and the children's meal doesn't seem to suit you, does it?"
The last few words were spoken with a hint of gnashing of teeth.
"Isn't this considered as not paying attention to the customer's needs?" He smiled and leaned back on the cushion, leisurely admiring Fengjian's changing face.
Feng Jian clenched the menu in his hand and was about to speak when he was suddenly hit on the head. He turned around and saw Sister Ling's angry face, followed by the tall Hua Di. "What are you standing there for? You're so slow and blocking the customers from being served. Do you know that?"
Fengjian hurriedly covered his ears and begged for mercy. He took a step back and noticed Huadi pushing a cart full of food. He looked at Sister Ling who changed her face to others, and then looked at Tezuka who was saying "thank you". What else did he not understand? He was fooled by someone again.
Be sure to add mustard to your next dish.
Before Feng Jian could put his secret thoughts into action, he was interrupted by Sister Ling. She returned to the counter and tore off the remaining bills. "Is your hand okay?"
"What can happen to me?" Feng Jian waved his hand, "I'm fine."
Sister Ling glanced at her sideways and nodded her chin. "Your hands are red and you're still saying it's okay. Do you want that young man to tell me that I'm still in the dark?"
Feng Jian was startled, and when he looked down, he found that his right elbow was already red.
Sister Ling was sorting the bills on the counter without looking up. "Alright, hurry up and apply the medicine. This is what the kid just handed to you. Remember to help me keep the account after you're done. Don't try to be lazy."
She took the medicine bottle and subconsciously looked at the boys sitting by the window. With her chin half supported, she looked at her teammates who were fighting over a meatball. She crossed her arms over her chest and raised her chin in disdain, but the light in her eyes could not be concealed.
Dusk leaked in from the crack of the door. There were a few tables sparsely occupied in the store. Kazama sat behind the counter fiddling with a calculator. The orange sunset blew her black hair off her shoulders, giving it a layer of gold until a cluster of shadows was cast in front of her. She looked up and saw Atobe and others standing in front of her.
Atobe tapped his fingertips on the counter. "Youth Trials, have you signed up yet?"
"Youth trials?"
"No one told you?" Atobe frowned.
"Probably..." Fengjian stared at the afterglow leaking out from the shadows, and suddenly remembered that Qianye had mentioned this to her a few days ago, but she was busy with things in Sister Ling's store at the time and probably forgot about it. She cleared her throat and said, "I can't play tennis. Should I sign up to watch the game?"
"The youth trials have volunteer spots, which is a great place to collect data. I think everyone from Seigaku should go there," Atobe glanced at her like she was an idiot, his chin raised high. "It would be a disaster for a tennis recorder to not pay attention to these things."
Fengjian choked.
"Yushi, I was saying that maybe Atobe has a crush on... " Hiashi poked Oshitari's shoulder, lowered his voice, and cast an ambiguous gaze on the two people talking in front.
"Well, that's hard to say." Ozuki adjusted his glasses, a faint smile on his lips.
"That's definitely right," Xiangri said with certainty, using the Oshimazu as a shield to turn around and complain to the others, "Otherwise why would he specifically ask her if she wanted to go to the youth trials? This must be a sugar-coated bullet..."
"That's lame."
"Yeah, right? Shishido must think so too."
"Shindo-senpai, Mukai-senpai..." Feng pointed behind them and glanced away silently.
"Xiangri, what are you talking about?" A sneer suddenly came from behind. Xiangri jumped up like a cat with its fur standing on end and dodged behind his partner, "Temple, Temple..."
"Run back to school and train more." Atobe glanced at him.
"You must be kidding!" Xiang Hi swallowed and clutched his partner's clothes. "Yushi also said it just now, and Shishido..."
Oshitari lowered his head and pushed up his glasses, while Shishido's face froze, as if he was caught off guard by his teammate's betrayal, "Mukaihi, you bastard!"
"Everyone, all of them!"
"yes--"
So today's dinner is also a sugar-coated bullet, right?
The young man Xiangri complained in his heart.
