Asura on the face
Upon seeing this, Li Yin subconsciously took a step back and said, "Young Master Qi, you are drunk."
Upon hearing this, Qi Shixu tilted his head slightly. He looked at Li Yin without saying a word, just staring at him for a while before lowering his eyes. The moonlight passed through the window and through the paper, falling on Qi Shixu. His white clothes shone with silver light, adding a touch of otherworldly elegance and loneliness to his appearance.
Li Yin's heart skipped a beat, because seeing Qi Shixu's appearance reminded her of another person, Wen Youqing.
He also liked to keep his eyes downcast like this.
The silvery light was cold, and the cool breeze made Qi Shixu's reddened eyes deepen. He remained silent, but reached out and picked up the wine jar on the table.
Just as his fair and slender hand reached the edge of the wine jar, another fair and delicate hand grabbed his wrist through the sleeve.
Qi Shixu was momentarily stunned. He slowly raised his head, looked at Li Yin, his lips slightly parted, but he remained silent.
Li Yin said, "You can't drink anymore. Your alcohol tolerance is too low. Your face is flushed. If you drink any more, you'll die."
Upon hearing this, Qi Shixu chuckled softly. His voice, whether from the wind or the strong liquor, was low and hoarse. He looked down at Li Yin's crimson lips.
Li Yin raised his eyes to meet her gaze, but Qi Shixu turned her head away first, her face flushing even more.
A cool breeze caressed his hair, its touch chilly. The ends of Li Yin's black hair swayed gently in the wind, brushing against Qi Shixu's fingertips. He was startled when he felt the touch on his hand, then reached out against the wind, trying to hold onto that strand of Li Yin's hair.
But the other, slender, fair hand pulled that strand of hair back first.
His hand reached out and remained in mid-air. Li Yin looked at Qi Shixu in confusion.
Qi Shixu blushed and lowered her eyes again. Li Yin was at a loss for words. Then Qi Shixu raised her eyes and reached out to take Li Yin's hand, but Li Yin always subconsciously dodged away.
Qi Shixu had no choice but to back down, grabbing Li Yin's sleeve and gently tugging at it, saying, "Fairy, I feel so...uncomfortable."
Li Yin didn't immediately remove Qi Shixu's hand, but listened attentively to what he was saying. She softened her voice and said, "Then get some sleep. You'll feel better after a good night's rest, and all your problems will be solved when you wake up."
Qi Shixu was taken aback by his words, then tilted his head, slightly curved his lips, and smiled faintly. He said, "You, keep me company, fairy... okay?"
Li Yin sighed, his tone slightly helpless, and said, "Alright, I'll go with you."
Qi Shixu got the answer he wanted and smiled even more brightly. He tugged at Li Yin's blue sleeve and slowly moved it up, but stopped when he was still a fist's distance from Li Yin's wrist.
The candlelight flickered gently in the breeze, casting a soft glow upon Li Yin and illuminating the veranda, adding a touch of gentleness and softening the aloofness.
Qi Shixu looked up and couldn't take his eyes off Li Yin. Feeling guilty, he closed his eyes, but quickly opened them again. He wanted to look at Li Yin more, to "keep" Li Yin as long as possible.
Li Yin found Qi Shixu's behavior strange and assumed that the wind outside the window had made Qi Shixu catch a cold.
She turned around and walked towards the window, when she heard a low, hoarse, nasal voice say, "...Don't go."
Upon hearing this, Li Yin stopped what he was doing, raising an eyebrow slightly. It seemed that Qi Shixu was quite drunk, unable to speak clearly, and her tone was almost like a coquettish whim, making one feel as if being scratched by a cat. He wondered... what kind of situation would Wen Youqing be in if she were like this?
Thinking of this, she relaxed her brows and smiled gently. Why did she keep thinking about Wen Youqing? She'd seen him so many times that she'd grown tired of him.
Qi Shixu raised his eyes and stared at Li Yin's back. Seeing that Li Yin did not intend to turn around, he gently reached out, wanting to touch Li Yin's hair. But Li Yin suddenly turned around and met his gaze.
Qi Shixu's face flushed even more instantly, and her hand, which she didn't retract for a moment, accidentally touched Li Yin's hand as he turned around.
The wind brushed against her face, passing by gently, stirring Qi Shixu's heart and disrupting its rhythm, turning into a dense drumbeat, urgent as raindrops, "tap tap tap..." sounding hurried and chaotic.
Li Yin acted first, raising his hand to separate their hands that had just lightly touched. A sense of desolation flashed through Qi Shixu's heart, but he quickly composed himself and took a shallow, deep breath.
The cool breeze couldn't dispel the heat, and a chaotic mind couldn't overcome reason.
Qi Shixu lowered his eyelids again, his spirited young eyes now tinged with sorrow and grief. Gazing at the ground, at Li Yin's blue skirt hem, his hands clenched gently together, then tightened their grip.
He wanted to be with Li Yin, but Li Yin had already married into the Wen family, and they could never be together. So why Wen Youqing...?
Just because the Wen family is powerful?
He was unwilling to accept it. Why could Wen Youqing do it, but he couldn't? Why...?
Seeing Qi Shixu in a daze, Li Yin took two steps forward, waved his hand gently in front of Qi Shixu's face, and leaned closer to him, saying, "Young Master Qi?"
A long, slender hand, as delicate as a scallion root, came into Qi Shixu's view. He stared intently at Li Yin's hand, which was gently swaying, as if it were his heart that was being swayed.
He frowned slightly, suppressing the thought in his mind, and tried to take a step back, but forgot that he was still by the table. Instead of taking a step back, he stumbled and fell forward a few steps due to the bump.
The two moved even closer, and the faint fragrance emanating from Li Yin lingered around Qi Shixu's nose. His breath, mixed with the lingering lotus scent of strong liquor, slowly intertwined with the delicate fragrance emanating from Li Yin.
Li Yin looked up at Qi Shixu. Just now, he saw Qi Shixu frown slightly and her face was flushed, so he felt that Qi Shixu was slightly uncomfortable.
She then withdrew her waving hand and asked with concern, "Are you feeling unwell?"
Qi Shixu remained silent, only slightly raising her eyes to look at Li Yin along his arm, her gaze fixed intently on him.
The wind is still, the moon is sparse, and the candlelight flickers.
After a long while, Qi Shixu spoke, murmuring softly, "Li Yin... could you save me?"
The two were close enough that Li Yin could hear clearly. She didn't think about it romantically, but rather assumed that Qi Shixu was just feeling unwell because her face was flushed from drinking. So she said softly, "Where do you feel unwell? Let me take a look."
Qi Shixu looked at Li Yin carefully. He slowly raised his hand, and seeing that Li Yin did not dodge, he continued, preparing to touch Li Yin's eyebrows and gently trace them with his hand.
The throbbing in his heart could no longer be suppressed. He no longer held back his emotions, smiled gently, and followed his heart. He raised his hand, getting closer and closer.
Just as they were about to touch, a slender hand reached for his pulse through his clothes.
Li Yin was so focused on investigating that he didn't notice the small, hurried footsteps outside.
As she took his pulse, she found it strange. Qi Shixu was already flushed with alcohol, but why was his pulse still steady and strong, unlike that of a drunk person? He seemed more like someone who wasn't drunk.
Just as she was about to let go, she suddenly felt a slight itch on her brow. A hand with distinct knuckles was gently stroking her brow, tracing it delicately with a very light and gentle, almost reverent, motion.
Just as Li Yin was about to push it away, she heard a loud "bang" as the door was suddenly kicked open, revealing Wen Youqing looking at her with a forced smile.
Wen Youqing was dressed in a light blue robe, the dark patterns removed, and the color seemed much lighter than in the morning, as if she had changed into a different one. Whether intentional or not, the color was exactly the same as Li Yin's.
The moonlight streamed in through the door, but weakened as it passed through the window. Its cold light fell upon Wen Youqing, giving her the air of snow on bamboo and moonlight among pines—pure, untouched by worldly dust, and carrying an air of aloofness.
With a slight rustle of her hair, Wen Youqing saw that Li Yin remained unmoved, so she chuckled softly again. Whether it was the moon or the wind, it sent a chill down one's spine.
Wen Youqing smiled, tilted his head slightly, and gripped the hilt of the sword at his waist with his well-defined knuckles. With a "whoosh," the longsword was drawn, its cold light gleaming. He looked at Li Yin and said unhurriedly, "Li Yin, aren't you coming over here?"
Li Yin's heart jumped the moment the door was pushed open, and upon seeing that familiar face, he couldn't help but panic.
She felt an urge to explain, but she hadn't done anything wrong, so the words she wanted to say stuck in her throat.
Li Yin reached out and gently pushed Qi Shixu away, but Qi Shixu seemed to be really drunk, his steps were a little unsteady, and Li Yin's push made him take several steps back. Qi Shixu held onto the table and almost fell. After a while, he raised his head and looked at Li Yin with a blank look in his eyes.
Then Qi Shixu glanced at Wen Youqing standing at the door, lowered his eyelids, let go of the table, and staggered again, about to fall down.
Li Yin stepped forward and grabbed Qi Shixu's hand, pulling him tightly. In his moment of distraction, he didn't control his strength, and Qi Shixu's strength was entirely supported by Li Yin. This time, Qi Shixu's whole body fell towards Li Yin.
Li Yin panicked. A strand of Qi Shixu's hair fell onto her shoulder, and then a cold glint swept across, lightly scratching Qi Shixu's cheek and leaving a shallow mark, before severing the strand of hair that had fallen onto Li Yin's shoulder.
The strands of hair fluttered in the air before instantly falling and scattering across the ground.
Li Yin released his grip when the sword came, and Qi Shixu fell backward, but instead of falling to the ground as expected, she caught herself on the table.
His hair was disheveled, with a section shorter than usual. He gently raised his hand and touched his cheek, reaching for the wound. He felt warm liquid and placed his hand in front of his eyes, looking down at it. It was a patch of red.
Just now, Wen Youqing really wanted to kill him. If he hadn't dodged quickly, he would probably be a corpse by now. She's a madwoman.
Seeing Qi Shixu's disheveled appearance, Wen Youqing smiled and then turned to Li Yin, saying gently, "Li Yin, aren't you coming over here?"
Li Yin glanced at Qi Shixu, a hint of worry on her face. As she hesitated whether to step forward, she heard another low laugh.
Wen Youqing held a long sword in one hand and put the other behind his back as he walked towards Li Yin step by step. But he stopped just one step away and then smiled as he stretched out the hand that was behind his back to Li Yin.
Blood stained his hands, beads of blood dripping from his fingertips, one by one falling to the ground with a "drip-drip," splashing dust, blooming like flowers.
