Testing people with poison

Testing people with poison

Hearing this, the woman was furious. She raised her head, looked at Li Yin with displeasure in her eyes, chuckled, and deliberately raised her voice, saying to Li Yin, "She's just a little bride. Who knows how long she'll stay? Young master, you're just infatuated for a while. How dare a merchant's daughter step into the gates of the prestigious Wen family?"

Her words were laced with disdain and made no attempt to hide it, which amused Li Yin.

Upon hearing this, the little girl next to her curiously raised her head and looked at the person beside her with a puzzled expression. The bell on her hair jingled gently.

Li Yin raised an eyebrow, kicked out, and knocked the person down. The person reached out and touched the ground, her nail polished fingers getting dirty. She frowned, jumped up, her face full of anger. She raised her hand to point at Li Yin and yell, but Li Yin's hand was faster than her arm. A slap landed on her carefully made-up face, ruining her makeup instantly.

The slap was loud; Li Yin used half his strength. The woman froze on the spot, her face burning. She blushed and raised her hand again to point at Li Yin, already preparing vicious words.

Before she could speak, Li Yin raised his hand again and slapped the man to the ground.

The man's clothes were covered in dust and had lost all their shine; his hair was disheveled, and he looked bewildered.

She looked up slightly and saw the hem of Li Yin's spotless green skirt, while her own hands were already covered in dust and grime. Grinding the sand, she gritted her teeth, clenched her fists, grabbed a handful of sand, and prepared to throw it at Li Yin.

Li Yin watched this scene with downcast eyes. She gently curled her lips, grabbed the person's hair bun with one hand, pulled the person's head down, pressed it down, and kicked the person's elbow. Just in time, the person threw out the sand in their hand, but the target had changed to herself. The sand got into her eyes and stung painfully.

Her eyes reddened instantly, though it was unclear whether it was from anger or pain.

Li Yin released his grip, looked at the person at his feet, and said, "The Wen family has many rules. If you want to stay here, you must abide by the rules. But I am the rule here now. Do you understand?"

The woman lowered her head, her fingers digging into the ground, the tips sinking into the dust. With her head down and eyes red, she gritted her teeth and whispered, "I understand."

Upon hearing this, Li Yin stepped forward, but the person suddenly pulled a white porcelain bottle from her sleeve. She quickly opened it with force, and a cloud of white powder spilled out. The powder merged into the air and spread instantly, creating a white mist out of thin air.

The bell jingled a few times, followed by a dull thud. The little girl, who had been curiously looking around, collapsed in the blink of an eye.

Li Yin took a step back, pressing her lower back against the tree. She dodged quickly, her steps slightly unsteady. She closed her mouth and nose, squinted her eyes, and then smiled faintly.

It's poison. What a coincidence, it's her favorite.

She pretended to be affected, fell backward, leaned against a tree, slightly opened her eyes, her vision blurred.

As the white mist dissipated, the person slowly got up from the ground. She swayed unsteadily, her steps faltering, and she almost collapsed after a few steps.

Blood tears streamed from the corners of the woman's eyes, her gaze fierce as she stared intently at Li Yin. She spat out blood, paused for a moment, then stood still. With a carefree laugh, she walked over to Li Yin's side.

Her hands were stained with blood and mud, and the lunulae on her fingernails were black. She stared at Li Yin, who was leaning against a tree. He was dressed in green, with dark hair and a fair complexion, like a piece of fine jade. He looked so beautiful that it stirred one's heart and made one want to touch him.

She looked at her hands, which were stained with mud and blood, and then looked up at Li Yin. She laughed even more wildly and burst out laughing. She said, "What Jade-Faced Assassin? Bah! They're all useless. They're just good-for-nothings without any internal strength. They're all just empty shells, and they're just vixens who know how to seduce their masters. They're disgusting."

Li Yin's eyes were glazed over as she slowly closed them. Her hands were long and slender, with her fingertips twitching slightly. The movement was very small, like a final struggle, but she sank without making much of a splash.

The woman reached out and touched Li Yin's face. Seeing Li Yin's fair face, she felt a surge of anger. She stopped smiling, gritted her teeth, bent her knuckles, and turned her hand into a claw, grabbing at Li Yin's face. The movement was so fast that it stirred up a small breeze.

Just as their fingertips were about to touch, a slender hand suddenly grabbed her wrist, and the force increased, causing her wrist to turn red and become painful and sore.

Li Yin twisted the man's wrist forcefully, and with a "crack," the bone rang out. The man screamed in surprise, cursing, "You... you bastard, you are... so despicable."

Upon hearing this, Li Yin slowly opened his eyes and quickly pulled the man closer. The man was stunned for a moment, then took out a dagger from his sleeve and stabbed at Li Yin with a fierce look in his eyes.

Li Yin remained calm and kicked the man's knee, releasing his grip on his wrist. The man, however, was still sent flying by inertia. Li Yin then found the acupoint and forcefully pinched the man's wrist joint, making several "crack" sounds. The man was in so much pain that his veins bulged, and he immediately knelt on the ground.

Li Yin kicked the man, knocking him to the ground. The man's eyes were filled with disbelief, a metallic taste rose in his throat, and he spat out a mouthful of blood. He opened his mouth, intending to spit it onto Li Yin.

Li Yin raised his hand and lifted her chin, causing blood to spill from the corner of her mouth. Li Yin then quickly released his hand.

The woman coughed twice, then pointed a trembling finger at Li Yin and said, "You... you weren't poisoned."

Li Yin laughed and said, "Why do you think I would be poisoned?"

The woman realized something, her expression changed, and she looked at Li Yin with fear. She said, "You're not Zhao Yuling, who...who are you?"

Zhao Yuling was poisoned by the King of Song. For more than ten years, this man who had saved Yuling's life successfully turned Yuling into the sharpest knife.

The poison of the King of Song can only be cured by the King of Song, and the poison will flare up every month. He needs to take a medicine every month to suppress it, otherwise he will die from intestinal ulceration.

If Yu Ling's poison is cured, then her relationship with Prince Song will no longer be that of an ordinary master and servant. She doesn't believe that anyone would willingly become a weapon, and she is even less willing to believe that her master, Prince Song, has that kind of relationship with a mere assassin.

Therefore, she wanted to kill Zhao Yuling, but dared not ask him to find out the truth. In her heart, her master was like the moon in the sky and the snow on the pine tree, and she would never allow a lowly person to touch him.

She worked as an inside agent in the Wen family to observe more closely and see what kind of person this Jade-Faced Assassin really was. However, she witnessed the elopement and marriage scene and couldn't help but admire how Li Yin managed to make all the men go crazy for her.

But since she had slept in her master's bed, she should have kept herself clean. However, she was quite surprised to see that Li Yin was not poisoned. This powder would trigger the poison to take effect. Either the poison was neutralized, or... this person was not Yu Ling.

The latter was even more absurd, yet she believed it without hesitation.

The woman closed her eyes, then looked at Li Yin with an expression of resignation to her fate. She said firmly, "Kill me if you want, no need to waste time."

Li Yin raised an eyebrow upon hearing this. This person was straightforward and somewhat quick-witted. She then asked, "How did you know? By the poison?"

The man remained silent, and Li Yin was not in a hurry. She raised her hand to touch her hair bun and pulled out a hairpin from it. The hairpin was entirely silver and had a simple design, like a piece of silver wood with some simple patterns drawn on it.

She reached out and grasped it, the tip pointing at the man. Then, with a swift movement, a bloody gash appeared on the man's arm, and he spat out another mouthful of blood, a few drops splashing onto the hem of Li Yin's skirt.

The man opened his eyes, curious as to why Li Yin hadn't killed him, when he suddenly felt a pain in his neck and collapsed.

Suddenly, everything became quiet. The trees rustled, the wind whispered, and shadows swayed gently, like people moving about.

Li Yin lifted his foot, walked around the man, and left.

She walked a few steps to the kitchen, looked around, and saw a gray bag. She went over to it; the bag contained white flour. Li Yin reached out and pinched a handful, gently rubbing it between her fingers, then took out a piece of paper. She gently blew on it to spread the flour, and after a while, she carefully picked it up and placed it in the sun.

The notes, written in varying shades, revealed new characters, but what does the single character "走" (walk) mean?

Li Yin was also stunned. Was her master telling her to leave?

But she had a life on her hands, and how could she leave without seeking justice and revenge? Besides, she had no home anymore; all her family members had been gone overnight.

He gave a self-deprecating laugh and said, "I can't leave."

After reading these, she carefully put the note away and hid it in her sleeve before turning and leaving.

As soon as Li Yin stepped out, he saw Wen Youqing. Her jade-like face was smudged with a trace of ash, as if it had been rubbed on. The black mark on her fair face was particularly noticeable.

He had even changed into green clothes, which suited his upright, bamboo-like figure perfectly. It also matched Li Yin's outfit. The colors were similar, but the styles were different. Each had its own merits when viewed individually, but together they complemented each other well.

Li Yin stood still, waiting for Wen Youqing to come over. Wen Youqing stared intently at Li Yin, not even glancing at the person lying on the ground. He looked at her with focused, rapt attention, as if gazing at a deity, his eyes and heart filled with reverence.

Sunlight fell on Li Yin, adding a soft touch and warmth to her. Dressed in green with delicate eyebrows, her eyes, like peach blossoms, were full of affection. Her gaze was tender and affectionate. She was a beauty like a painting, unforgettable.

Wen Youqing was mesmerized, a smile creeping onto his lips. He walked briskly over to Li Yin, his voice slightly tinged with amusement, and said slowly, "My lady, I've finished preparing. Would you do me the honor of joining me now?"

Li Yin nodded and said directly, "Okay, but Wen Youqing, shouldn't you look at the ground?" After she finished speaking, she pointed to the ground. Wen Youqing was still looking at her with a smile on his lips. He nodded slightly, very lightly, just to get by.
