Chapter 65 Time Will Not Let Love Gone
This matter is not over yet.
It seems like the past, yet it is not the past.
On New Year's Eve, Jiang Meng went out with her friends. Chen Jizhou also invited her, but it was a bit late. When he called her, Jiang Meng excitedly said, "I've already made plans with them. Sorry, I'll go with you another day."
Before he could finish speaking, she had already assured him, "We're all girls, don't worry."
So during his few-day holiday, Chen Jizhou found something to do and went to look at apartments. In the evenings, he went back to her house and waited for her.
It was a rare opportunity for him to be alone in his room; to put it bluntly, he was being left out in the cold, and this was the first time in his life he had ever been left out like this.
It was lively outside, but that had nothing to do with him.
Luckily, Little Gold was right at my feet.
Chen Jizhou had an electric guitar with Jiang Meng. She picked it out herself; it was the prettiest ice-blue one, and she fell in love with it at first sight. Then, without saying a word, she snatched it away, just as naturally as she would when she was a child and took his things. However, Jiang Meng's short-lived enthusiasm for things was something he had foreseen. Sure enough, after practicing chords for two days, her hands hurt so much that she wanted to quit.
At night, Jiang Meng heard the piano music coming from the room in the distance, so she sped up the process of entering the password. As a result, the more confused she became, the more mistakes she made. Yan Yuqing couldn't stand it anymore and said, "How much? I'll help you enter the password."
"222120, hurry!"
Hearing the noise at the door, Chen Jizhou put down his instrument, stood up, and as soon as the door opened, he heard a loud voice: "I'm back, mwah!"
Jiang Meng's cheeks and ears were flushed. She was carrying several bags. Three friends had come, and they were also carrying bags. She even had to free one hand to blow him a kiss. Her slightly tipsy eyes blinked at him.
Yan Yuqing put one arm around Jiang Meng and placed the flowers in her arms on the cabinet by the door with the other: "She drank too much. Help her up. She said she wants to come back and spend New Year's Eve with you."
Chen Jizhou came over and took her into his arms.
He was slightly surprised, not understanding the purpose of placing these things in one by one.
I glanced at it quickly.
A bouquet of roses with string lights, figurines, Lego, scarves, headphones, watches, ties, and badminton equipment, including grip tape and rackets.
Everything is new.
Jiang Meng delivered a classic line, accompanied by a rapid hand-waving gesture: "No, no, I'm not drunk."
With a commanding expression, she pointed to herself with her thumb and declared, "Today I'm the boss."
Chen Jizhou quickly piled up the things, pulled the person inside, and stood at the door to ask her friends about the situation. They went to the mall in the afternoon and drank alcohol in the evening. Jiang Meng had somehow picked up his habit of boasting, claiming to be able to drink a thousand cups without getting drunk, and she was like this after drinking two cups of baijiu.
Chen Jizhou greeted them, saying, "Thank you for your help."
Jiang Meng's head peeked out from under the door, and she blew a few kisses: "Thank you so much, my darlings, I love you all."
Yan Yuqing smiled amicably and waved her hands: "It's alright, enjoy the holiday."
Chen Jizhou smiled and nodded: "Take care."
The door closed.
Jiang Meng counted her gifts and said happily, "Whew, I spent money today, I'm so happy."
Chen Jizhou leaned against the cabinet, watching her commotion with a half-smile.
She looked up, her vision blurred by the alcohol, but she could see he was wearing a soft white sweater, looking very homey and comfortable, yet also very handsome and bright.
Jiang Meng said, "I bought you so many gifts to make up for it. I've never given you anything before because I didn't have any money, but now I do."
Chen Jizhou was a little surprised, his smile pausing slightly: "Bought for me?"
Everything was laid out on the carpet. The little glutton even went over to sniff the milk tea she brought back. As she spoke, she continued to count the items with her hands: "Hmm, I also bought a small gift for Su Yu to bring back to her when I go back for the New Year. But I didn't buy one for Xie Zhuo. I was afraid you would be jealous and feel sorry for him, the one who lost to me. I can't help it, there's a jealous person in the family."
He was annoyed again: "How am I jealous?"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Meng stopped what she was doing, walked up to him, and looked him up and down with a smile: "Oh yeah, you were only jealous for two seconds. I thought you were going to hold a grudge against me forever, have a three-day, three-night battle in bed, force me to tell you who the other person is, and then not stop until you give him a good beating."
Chen Jizhou's expression darkened slightly, then he raised an eyebrow, feigning relief: "Anyway, you're mine now, and you'll be mine in the future. Whatever happened before, can do whatever you want."
Jiang Meng laughed and poked his cheek: "You're talking nonsense. You smell like sourness right now."
"Good to know," Chen Jizhou smiled helplessly, "Then you'd better delete it now, delete it in front of me."
"Don't you want to know who he is? What if I insist on telling you?"
Chen Jizhou put his arm around her waist, his hand gently stroking the rough fabric of her wool coat: "Then I'll reluctantly listen to it."
Jiang Meng beckoned with her finger, and he bent down, then heard her say, "I like you the most, I only like you, you were my first love, okay?"
He laughed: "You're kidding me."
Jiang Meng said unhappily, "You clearly went that day, and I went too. What are you pretending to be stupid for?"
Realizing she probably wasn't joking, Chen Jizhou paused for a moment and asked in a confirming tone, "Really?"
"Yeah, you're my white moonlight, are you satisfied now, Chen Jizhou? You even peeked at my alternate account, you're so arrogant."
So their online relationship counts too...
Chen Jizhou chuckled in exasperation, but immediately hugged her and kissed the corner of her mouth, clearly unable to contain his joy: "Spying? I seem to remember someone forcing me to pay attention."
Jiang Meng nodded: "Yes, I asked you to help me with the data, I remember."
As she lowered her gaze in thought, she realized she was being stared at intently.
Jiang Meng glanced at him: "Staring at me won't help, you're going to force a kiss on me."
"..."
"Hurry up, you're going to force a kiss on me, push me onto the sofa, hurry up."
He hadn't even had time to process what she said before he could react.
He would grant her a kiss if she asked.
Jiang Meng took off her coat, leaving only a fitted light-colored sweater. The hug felt less distant, allowing for a closer and warmer embrace.
A passionate, seemingly endless kiss brought her back to her senses. The numbness caused by the cold wave slowly faded from the kiss, and she felt her body awaken and warm up.
Chen Jizhou looked down with his deep yet tender eyes and said, "I don't need you to do anything for me."
"Don't try to make up for what you owe me. You can give me a gift, but it doesn't have to be a gift to make amends."
He still said, "I don't need it."
Jiang Meng laughed and said, "You can't tell me what to do. I'm going to buy it for you. I'm going to buy it for you. I'm going to make you so happy. Today I'm the boss. The man I, Jiang Meng, dote on must be the happiest little boy in the world!"
Chen Jizhou's lips curled into a slight smile: "Oh."
Jiang Meng: "Oh, go ahead and laugh if you want. I can see how smug you are."
She cupped his face in her hands and kissed his soft lips twice more: "No one has ever given me so much joy and surprise. It was you before, it is you now, and it will always be you in the future."
"I love you so much, so I want to be with you. Even if we do nothing, just being together makes me happy. Buying you gifts is also because I love you. When you're not around, I'm just going through the motions of living. You are so important to me, incomparable and irreplaceable."
"I've always thought of myself as someone who's not good at expressing my feelings. I rarely give much feedback, but you're the only one who makes me want to keep saying 'I love you' and 'I miss you.' I've only ever said mushy things to you."
I can't live without you.
"Do you know, Chen Jizhou?"
He paused for a moment, having heard countless "I love you"s, then smiled: "You're so adorable, baby."
Chen Jizhou is a pretty serious guy. Although he has the face of a playboy, he doesn't really have time to think about how to flirt with girls. Moreover, he doesn't seem to like mushy and affectionate expressions, so he doesn't usually say sweet words. When he calls her "baby" with a hint of laughter, it almost makes her ears fall off.
He has always been insightful, seemingly living with exceptional clarity. People should look forward, and water should flow forward. His life is broad, peaceful, and simple, because he has never felt obligated to obtain anything, nor does he care whether he can leave anything behind. But at this moment, as he holds Jiang Meng in his arms, his forehead and nose sinking into her sweater, Chen Jizhou says, "Thank you for the gift. Stay with me forever, Jiang Meng."
Jiang Meng gave a soft "Hmm?" and then playfully asked him, "Have you gotten past my mom's hurdle?"
Chen Jizhou: "You can practice playing cards, but you can't be a teacher. Let's elope."
Jiang Meng sat up with a laugh: "To be honest, I didn't agree to it either."
"Tie him up and kidnap him."
"Huh? You've become this tough now?"
"Didn't I already tell you? I'm really mean to my girlfriend." He gave a wicked smile.
She said, "I have a bad temper, so you have to always give in to me."
"What a coincidence, I love to coax people the most."
Jiang Meng murmured repeatedly, "What a coincidence, I love to coax people the most."
My thoughts are in turmoil. Outside, the howling wind carries something away.
She lay down again and said softly, "Chen Jizhou, don't wander the world anymore."
Because of a single "I love you," guided by the faint light of a lighthouse, the drifting boat found its harbor. Eternal tranquility awaits, as dawn breaks.
“Okay,” he said. “I will stay and give you a home.”
Jiang Meng gently fluttered her eyelashes and met his gaze for a moment.
Remembering something, she got up again and rummaged through the pile of gifts, pulling out a book that lit up: "I bought this for you too."
The second volume of the story is called "Seventeen-Year-Old, Please Answer".
She tossed it over, and Chen Jizhou caught it and started flipping through it, pretending to say, "Thank you, I need to think carefully about how to reconcile."
Jiang Meng laughed: "So, are you still going to delete the Weibo post or not?"
"Don't delete it, keep it until you're eighty."
She pounced on him and hugged him, saying, "You're so mean, you stinky man! You should go perform Sichuan opera face-changing!"
Chen Jizhou laughed and caught her waist: "No, I really can't do this."
The fallen pages closed automatically, stopping precisely on the last page. The warm air from the air conditioner lifted the margins of the pages, and as the lights were turned off, the gentle characters remained in a dim corner of the room. The midnight chimes marked the beginning, not the end.
The epilogue reads: "Love is not a river that can be traversed by marking the boat, love is a Möbius strip. Time will not let love drift away, time will make me flow towards you."
