Chapter 104 Emptying

"Yes, sir!" Su Peisheng hurriedly went to inform his subordinates.

Yinzhen stood by the window with his hands behind his back. The dream was deeply affecting him, and his mind was in turmoil. The image of Tong Shi covered in blood in the dream made him extremely distressed.

"Master, Master Nian has arrived," Quanfu announced from outside the door.

Yinzhen gave a faint "hmm," and said, "Please let her in."

Madam Nian entered with a smile, "My lord, I noticed that you didn't eat much for lunch, so I specially asked someone to prepare some delicious pastries for you."

"Xu'er is so thoughtful." Yinzhen took the pastries from her and placed them on the table, then led her to sit down on the couch.

"Has the baby been bothering you these past few days?" Yinzhen asked, raising his hand to stroke Nian Shi's belly, which was not yet showing.

Lady Nian puffed out her belly and smiled sweetly, "Don't worry, Your Highness, the little prince is very well-behaved and doesn't bother me at all."

Quanfu, being very perceptive, accepted the pastries and quickly offered tea.

Yinzhen took several bites, suppressing the sweetness in his mouth.

When Nian saw this, she looked worried. "You used so little? Sir, is it not to your liking? Should I get you something else?"

"No need," Yinzhen refused. He wondered which chef had made the pastries; they were so sweet they would make your teeth ache. He was sure that Lady Nian herself had never tasted them before.

If it were Yi'er, she... Yinzhen's heart tightened slightly, and he put down his teacup. "Xu'er, is something the matter?"

Lady Nian leaned against Yinzhen's chest and whispered, "Your Majesty, please don't overwork yourself. I've noticed you've lost a lot of weight these past few days, and it breaks my heart to see you like this. I'll have the kitchen prepare a good dinner for you, and make you some appetizing dishes. Is that alright?"
