She was also afraid of being alone, afraid of loneliness, afraid of living alone in this unfamiliar time and space, with no one remembering her anymore, so she couldn't take a step.
The paddle pounded on Qingfeng's body again and again. She didn't care about anything else. She could hit her, but she couldn't possibly hit her maid right under her nose.
When the Thirteenth Prince entered, he was stunned to see a group of disheveled, grimacing servants. "Fourth Brother, what's going on here?"
Yinzhen gave him a cold glance, glaring at the woman in the middle who had completely lost her composure, both angry and furious. Thirteen was bewildered, getting no answer, and unable to bear it any longer, "Stop standing there, all of you, get out of here!"
The servants looked at each other, unsure of what to do. They could only look to the head eunuch, Su Peisheng, for help. When he nodded, they rushed out of the courtyard. There was no other way; their new master was just too cruel.
Nan Yi shoved Qing Feng, winked at her, and told her to step back, since he couldn't avoid it anyway.
Qingfeng bowed and obediently left.
She wasn't worried about her master at all; if he just acted cute and pitiful, the storm would immediately pass.
At Thirteen's command, seeing that there was still someone standing there in the courtyard, he couldn't resist his curiosity and went forward to take a look. He exclaimed, "Sister-in-law Tong?" His tall, slender hand trembled as he pointed at her, his eyes wide open. "You...you..." He stammered for a long time, unable to utter a complete sentence.
Nan Yi gathered her loose hair, tidied her robes, smiled at Thirteen, walked directly to Yinzhen, climbed onto the Fourth Prince's lap, and nestled in his arms.
She remembered clearly that the crisis wasn't over yet, so it didn't matter if she was a little shameless, as long as there were benefits. Besides, she had just used up too much energy and was exhausted.
Yinzhen had been waiting for her to beg for mercy, but when he saw that Tongshi was shameless, the words he wanted to reprimand her touched her outward-curling fingernail and the red mark on her wrist. For some reason, his anger dissipated, and he couldn't bear to blame her anymore. He felt sorry for her instead. He thought to himself that they were all blind servants and that he had hit her too hard.
Upon suddenly seeing Nan Yi, Yinzhen was truly furious. The people in the manor repeatedly assured him that as soon as he left, she would reveal her true colors.
He actually dared to sneak off to Jiangnan for sightseeing. If he hadn't happened to be there on official business, he probably would have been in a panic and chaos when he returned home and couldn't find anyone there.
No amount of punishment could change her mind. She cared nothing for the women in the backyard, and he couldn't bear to do that. He could only keep a close watch on her and confine her in Wanyue Pavilion before he felt at ease.
Yinzhen glanced at the thirteenth prince, who, despite his great curiosity, could only shrug and retreat.
He held Nan Yi tightly, raised his hand to brush away her stray hairs, wiped the fine sweat from her forehead, and said calmly, "Tell me the truth, don't hide anything, or you'll never see that girl again."
Nan's eyes narrowed slightly, and she said reproachfully, "You just know how to scare me."
Yinzhen held her pointed chin, "My mansion will not keep servants who are cowardly and disobedient to their masters."
Nan Yi turned her head and snuggled into his arms, wrapping her arms tightly around his strong waist, pretending not to hear anything. Yinzhen's breathing became unsteady for a moment, and he seemed to enjoy it. He got up, picked her up, and carried her back to the inner room.
The two on the bed were completely naked. His hands roamed over the smooth, delicate body in his arms, his large hands tightening around her slender waist, holding her tightly, quickly silencing her soft moans, and thrusting into her with vigorous rhythm until they were both drenched in sweat and exhausted before he released her.
When Nan Yi woke up, it was noon on the third day after she was captured. Yinzhen was lying on the bedside reading official documents, with one hand still reaching under the covers to caress her thin shoulders and back.
"You're awake. Get up and have your meal."
Nan squinted, yawned, stretched, threw off the covers, and got out of bed. Before her feet even touched the ground, she exclaimed, "Ah—, what are you doing?"
"You've messed with me."
Nan struggled frantically, asking in a daze, "What did I do?"
Yinzhen's burning gaze moved down to the bare, high mound, and he wanted to lean in and kiss it, but her hands blocked his head.
Nan Yi glanced over and belatedly realized that he wasn't dressed. "Ah—let me eat first."
Yinzhen grabbed her wrists, pinned them behind her back, and said in a hoarse, low voice, "Eat after you've finished cooking."
Nan Yi couldn't move his hand, so he raised his knee and cursed angrily, "Damn it, I don't have the strength to do it."
"I have strength."
When she woke up again, she saw Qingfeng winking and grinning foolishly.
Nan Yi was speechless, sighing at the heartless girl. Who was she doing this for? She was forced into a honey trap against her will, and she couldn't get out of bed for days, exhausted and dizzy.
"Thank you, Master. To repay you, I have prepared my best dishes to reward you." Qingfeng flattered her, helped Nan Yi up to sit at the table, and handed her a soup spoon.
Nan glanced at the food on the table, somewhat doubtful. "You can cook?" It looked appetizing, but she wondered how it tasted.
Upon hearing this, Qingfeng pouted and said, "Although I am not as proficient in music, chess, calligraphy and painting as you are, I have learned the skills that a young lady should learn. Cooking is just the most basic skill."
Nan Yi had just taken a sip of soup when she immediately spat it out, "Cough cough..." Her face flushed red, thinking she was hallucinating. Music, chess, calligraphy, and painting—her? She noticed Qing Fengyou's angry, tense little face.
Looking at the food he had contaminated, Nan Yi felt conflicted. Even though it was his own saliva, the thought of eating it again made him feel nauseous.
Just as she was hesitating, a young woman in green walked to the door and bowed, "This servant, Lüyun, greets Consort Lu. May Consort Lu be blessed."
Nan Yi was slightly taken aback and looked at Qing Feng, "The new girl?"
Qingfeng shook her head. She knew about Lüyun's background; she was just a plaything that local officials presented to their master as a tribute. Her status was far inferior to that of her master.
But what is Green Cloud doing here? Is it to annoy its master?
