Chapter Six: The Way Back

She didn't investigate further, and belatedly picked up the glass and drank it. After traveling for half an hour, she was indeed very thirsty. Nan Yi was unaware that the three of them had their own thoughts.

After quenching her thirst, she grabbed the pastries in front of her and stuffed two pieces into her mouth, her cheeks bulging. Seeing this, the Ninth Prince poured her more tea. She used the tea to rinse the sticky bits in her mouth, wiped her mouth after eating, and said to the three of them with a smile, "Let's go, let's not waste any more time, let's set off now." With that, she rushed ahead.

The three followed, and the Tenth Prince squeezed forward, standing next to Nan Yi, and winked, saying, "Nan Yi, aren't you worried that we're bad people?"

Nan glanced at him and asked, "Are you?"

“No,” the Tenth Prince was taken aback, and quickly replied.

"Then let's not settle it. Besides, if we run into bad guys, who knows who will come out on top?" Nan Yi snorted confidently. She considered herself a master, even though she hadn't fought a single battle in the Qing Dynasty, she shouldn't be too bad.

The Eighth Prince wondered if she had someone to rely on. He discreetly looked around and found no suspicious people nearby.

Where did Nan Yi get such courage? They had only met her twice before, and she should have been wary of traveling with a man, but she seemed fearless.

"Nan Yi, where do you want to go?" The Ninth Prince's voice interrupted the Eighth Prince's deep thoughts.

"Didn't you say you were in charge? I'm not familiar with this area, so I don't know where to go for fun."

I invited them because I wanted to find myself a guide; otherwise, it would be more fun to travel alone.

"Then let's go to Zhizhenzhai."

"what for?"

"Rare and precious treasures".

Most women love jewelry, so using this to please her should be a good idea. Ninth Prince looked smug. Nan Yi glared at him with a smirk, thinking to herself, "He really is a rich young master. Look at how smug he is, he must take women out often."

Seeing her disdainful look, the Ninth Prince awkwardly touched his nose and took a small step back. Had he said something wrong? His wives and concubines in the mansion always asked him for these things. Women love this. Nan Yi, it seems, doesn't like it.

He recalled the first time he tried to take a woman shopping, even at a jewelry store, and was met with disdain; he felt a little embarrassed.

Nan Yi smiled gently, her eyes sparkling with an inexplicable light. She stood with her hands on her hips in front of the Ninth Prince, extending her delicate hand towards him.

"What are you doing?" The Ninth Prince looked at her in confusion, his eyes falling on the slender, jade-like hands outstretched in front of him. A slight itch ran through his heart; he really wanted to pinch them. He had thought about it last time, but he was afraid of startling her, so he restrained himself.

The Eighth Prince and the Tenth Prince stared at her, puzzled by her actions. The Ninth Prince was about to act when Nan Yi snatched the fan from the Eighth Prince's hand, put it away, and pressed it against the Ninth Prince's chest.

When the gentle touch brushed against the Eighth Prince's hand, he was momentarily stunned, as if savoring the moment with a faint smile, or perhaps delighted by her usual gesture towards his beloved.
