Once inside, Su Er lost all interest in appreciating the elegant and valuable furniture and decorations; her attention was completely drawn to the aroma of the food.
My appetite, which I thought had faded, is now rumbling in my stomach again.
She subconsciously let go of Jiang Siyan's hand, ran to the table, and braced her hands on the edge of the table. There was no room left to see her.
Roast duck, fish head soup in a clay pot, and stir-fried vegetables are all local specialties of the southern part of the city.
There was a clay pot with its lid on the table. She touched it with her fingertips; it wasn't too hot. She gripped the lid tightly and lifted it. The rich aroma of soy milk wafted out. Su Er exclaimed in surprise, "Meiling porridge!"
Jiang Siyan approached her from behind, saying, "I thought you liked this, so I had Uncle Zhang bring it over. I was in a hurry, so I only had time to make this much."
Su Er swallowed hard. "That's enough, that's enough. It's not good to waste food like that."
Seeing her excited expression, Jiang Siyan thought to himself, since she likes it, why not just ask Zhang Bo for his chef?
Jiang Siyan pulled out a chair and gestured for her to sit down. "Aren't you hungry? Sit down and eat quickly."
Su Er stood on tiptoe and glanced out the window. Suddenly, an idea struck her. She tugged at his sleeve and shook it gently, asking in a coquettish tone, "Shall we eat at the stone table outside?"
The little girl was impulsive, and Jiang Siyan was not dissatisfied. He called over the aunt and moved the dishes on the table to the yard.
Soft cushions were laid out on the stone benches in the courtyard beforehand to prevent people from sitting on them and getting sore bottoms.
Su Er, carrying her bowl, walked briskly and said in a clear, crisp voice, "Thank you, Aunt Cui."
"I had it prepared, and you didn't even thank me?" Jiang Siyan sat down on the stone bench and asked jealously.
Su Er gave a reproachful laugh, "Why are you so petty?"
Despite saying that, Su Er didn't stop. She ran to his side, bent down, and kissed him on the cheek: "Thank you, Jiang Siyan."
Jiang Siyan was afraid that she would get a stomachache from hunger, so he suppressed the urge to hold her in his arms and continue the kiss, and patted her lower back, "Okay, go eat."
Su Er was really starving, and she didn't care if her face would be swollen tomorrow. She wanted to try every dish.
Jiang Siyan served her food in a good mood, and often, wherever her eyes looked, the food would be placed in her bowl the next second.
She was so full after the meal that the amount of food she ate tonight couldn't be measured in calories.
Su Er touched her belly, which had clearly developed a small bulge.
After a full meal, Su Er's mind naturally became more active. Looking at the still-warm food on the table, a question suddenly occurred to her: how far apart were the two courtyards? Considering the time spent preparing the food, the distance from the hotel alone couldn't possibly be enough.
Su Er wiped her mouth with a tissue, sat up straight, and looked at Jiang Siyan.
Seeing her suddenly become so serious, Jiang Siyan asked, puzzled, "What's wrong? Are you full?"
Su Er, with a serious demeanor, said with a stern face, "Don't be all smiles, I'm going to interrogate you."
Of course, her statement would be more convincing if she had wiped the smear of roast duck sauce off her lips.
Jiang Siyan looked at her with great interest and played along: "Tell me, what are you going to interrogate me about?"
Su Er narrowed his eyes, leaned forward slightly, and called out to him, "Comrade Old Jiang."
Upon hearing this title, Jiang Siyan's temples throbbed. If outsiders heard it, who knows how many rumors and gossips it would cause.
That's incredibly disrespectful.
Su Er rested her hands on his legs, and a faint fragrance emanated from her body, wafting into his nostrils.
The interrogation is still ongoing.
She tried to find a hint of panic in Jiang Siyan's eyes, "Are you sure I'll come back with you? Do you think I'm easy to fool?"
Jiang Siyan casually asked her, "Er'er, have you ever heard a saying?"
Su Er blinked, "What?"
"Never fight a battle you are not prepared for."
One sentence explains everything.
"Tch, boring." Su Er got up listlessly.
Before she could retract her hand, her waist was suddenly tightened, and Jiang Siyan pressed her down onto his lap, face to face. "How about I teach you another idiom?" He paused, then chuckled softly in her ear, "It's called 'playing with fire'."
That's definitely describing her current situation.
Su Er, mindful of the other people in the courtyard, patted his arm, "Jiang Siyan! Aunt Cui and the others will see!"
Jiang Siyan didn't care at all. "So what if they see? Who does it bother if I hug my girlfriend?"
"If you don't let go, I'll bite you!" Su Er warned him.
Jiang Siyan offered his hand generously, saying, "Bite."
"Why not bite him?" But instead of biting his arm, Su Er swatted away his hand, moved closer to his jaw, and bit down hard.
She actually bit down quite hard, but Jiang Siyan just stroked the back of her neck, without even letting out the pained "hiss" she expected.
Su Er felt that it wasn't that she was being soft-hearted, but rather that she was afraid that if she kept her mouth open for too long, saliva would flow out and affect her image.
She pursed her lips and let go, but not long after, a tooth mark appeared on her face.
Jiang Siyan raised an eyebrow slightly, looked down at her, smiled faintly, and praised her: "Good girl, easy to please."
Su Er could easily hear the sarcastic tone in his voice. She continued to struggle to get up, cursing in her heart that he deserved it, while shouting, "Let me get up."
Despite his thin arms and legs, he's surprisingly strong.
Jiang Siyan was afraid of hurting her, so he quickly explained to her, "The aunties went back to the backyard to rest a long time ago, they don't have time to wait for us to eat here."
