Chapter 3 The Stranger I Just Met

Jiang Siyan looked at the person in front of him, his eyebrows slightly raised, his eyes filled with a slyness that clearly indicated he wouldn't expose her lie.

It's just a laugh... This person isn't that petty, is he?

Besides, he laughed at her too.

So, does this mean... neither of us owes the other anything?

The man beside them sized up the two of them, his eyes darting around, his smile widening as he naturally shifted his focus of flattery.

He bowed slightly to Su Er, "Is this your companion, my dear nephew?"

The cold wind subsided slightly, and the air seemed to freeze for a moment because of the question.

Jiang Siyan met Su Er's gaze, smiled playfully, and asked her ambiguously, "Is that so?"

Listen to the way she says that, it's as if she's gladly handing over all the initiative to her.

But the two of them actually spent less than five minutes together, and they couldn't even be considered acquaintances.

The two short words spoken by this cynical playboy seemed to convey more tender feelings than any other love confession.

Su Er knew he couldn't afford to offend someone like that.

She took a step back, her bright and cheerful face losing its smile and gaining a touch of coldness. "I'm sorry, sir, you've misunderstood. We are..." Su Er paused, then clearly explained their relationship word by word.

She said, "A stranger I just met."

Jiang Siyan chuckled as he looked at her wary expression and lazily looked away.

He never lacked such serendipitous encounters, whether intentional or unintentional, and when the mood struck him, he would engage in playful banter with you.

But as the saying goes, you have to come for me to go; there's no such thing as someone being indispensable.

Hesitantly, only one person remained. The man carefully observed Jiang Siyan's expression, trying to discern whether it was just playful banter between the two or if he had truly misjudged the situation.

A few seconds later, seeing that Jiang Siyan no longer looked at Su Er, the man straightened up and said to her without any apology, "Ah, sorry."

The flattery just now seemed like a false illusion.

Such is the fickle nature of human relationships; it's nothing new anywhere, especially in this city. Who knows what role she'll play next?

Su Er smiled faintly and nodded politely, "It's nothing."

She consciously stepped back to a more distant spot, stubbed out her cigarette in the white sand, and became a qualified passerby in the background.

The enthusiastic compliments continued in my ears, and from afar, I could hear a lukewarm response.

It has nothing to do with her.

Su Er wrapped her coat tighter and had just tucked one side of her mask behind her ear when a girl tentatively approached her, perfectly blocking the direction she was trying to avoid. "Excuse me, are you... Er Er?"

Su Er was taken aback, then nodded and said, "Yes."

The girl's eyes were filled with joy. She was about to scream but quickly covered her mouth. She glanced around and cautiously asked, "Er'er, I love your portrayal of Losang so much. Can I take a picture with you?"

She was referring to her role in "Under the Moonlight." The gloom that had been weighing on her heart vanished, and the joy of being recognized gradually crept into her heart. Her smile softened considerably. "You've seen it? Thank you for your appreciation."

"You acted amazingly! Our whole dorm loves you!"

Su Er smiled upon hearing this, took her phone, opened the camera, put her arm around her shoulder, and pressed the shutter button. "Thank you, but this photo may not be able to be posted for now, the new drama hasn't finished filming yet."

The little girl nodded solemnly and said "okay" as if she had received instructions for some special mission.

Su Er hugged her again, and the girl's face flushed slightly. She said shyly, "Er Er, you smell so good..."

Su Er chuckled in surprise. The smell of cigarettes on her body hadn't dissipated yet. The little girl probably had a fan filter on her.

"My roommates and I will continue to support you! Keep going, Er'er!" The little girl left reluctantly.

Su Er thanked her sincerely and waved goodbye in the direction the girl had left.

As expected, I saw that figure, but unexpectedly, my eyes met Jiang Siyan's.

It's unclear when the people around him left, or whether their eye contact was a coincidence or because he was watching.

There are many questions that flash by, but there's no need to delve into them.

Su Er was dazzled by the headlights of a car approaching from a distance. The car came to a steady stop beside Jiang Siyan.

"Siyan, what's up? Get in the car." The familiar tone, with the same carefree and uninhibited attitude.

By the time her eyes adjusted to the lights, the car had already started and slowly drove past her, leaving only a trail of shadows.

Su Er glanced at the license plate: Beijing A followed by a string of neat numbers, which looked unusual enough.

She thought to herself, without any surprise, "He really is a man."

Before I could even turn around, I heard hurried footsteps behind me.

"What are you looking at? Why did you come out first?" Lin Shuqin had bought medicine for her and came back. She frowned as she approached. "Smoking again?"

Su Er held up one finger and said with an embarrassed smile, "Just one."

Lin Shuqin pursed her lips helplessly, glanced around, and saw that the van had already turned the corner and entered the lane. "Put your mask on properly."

When the car stopped, she opened the door and pushed Su Er in, saying, "Don't let the wind give you a headache. We have an early scene to film later, so hurry up and get in the car."

Lin Shuqin handed the medicine to Su Er without leaving with her, and told her, "Go back and take good care of your skin and get some rest. Even a few minutes of sleep is good."

"Okay, thank you, Sister Qin."
