Chapter 3 The Stranger I Just Met



The car door closed, and the hustle and bustle of the night finally came to an end.

She opened the thermos, swallowed the medicine with warm water, and was already somewhat numb to the dull pain in her stomach.

In the middle of the night, there weren't many cars on the road. The enclosed space made her empty stomach feel uncomfortable again. Su Er rolled down the car window a crack and closed her eyes to rest.

The car stopped at the traffic light, its dark background tinged with a few dark red lights.

Through the crack in the window, a thick Beijing accent drifted in, "You have no idea how much trouble that bastard is causing me..."

Su Er opened her eyes, her gaze clouded by weariness and not very clear. She glanced at the time on the control panel, then turned her head slightly to look out the window, and sure enough.

—It was him.

The car window was half-open, light and shadow flickered, and the night seemed to make that indifferent profile appear even more profound.

Suddenly, Jiang Siyan turned his head, glanced at it listlessly, and quickly looked away.

All that could be seen was a car window covered with thick tint.

The green light for going straight came on, and the car sped away, the person in the front seat still complaining, "No, did you hear what I said?"

As the van receded into the distance in the rearview mirror, Jiang Siyan replied casually, "No."

A curse was hidden in the wind.

A fleeting, light-colored lip print flashed through my mind, and a strange thought quietly crept into my head: that cigarette didn't do justice to the charm of the mole at the end of her eyebrow.

Jiang Siyan silently curled his lips, closed the window, and quickly put it out of his mind.

Su Er leaned back in her chair, her posture unchanged, and a hazy sleepiness washed over her. Before falling into a deep sleep, she couldn't help but chuckle.

It's well past midnight. How many times have they met today?

I don't remember very clearly.

One coincidence after another, if you didn't know better, you'd think it was someone's deliberate scheme.
