"Fine, I'll wear it, okay?" Su Er unfolded the shawl and reluctantly draped it over her shoulders. Amidst the clattering of slippers, she muttered under her breath, "Old stubborn!"
"What?" Jiang Siyan suddenly stopped in his tracks.
Su Er turned around and hooked her arm around his ingratiatingly, smiling obsequiously, "I said, thank you for caring about me."
Jiang Siyan glanced at her sideways and said, "Go ahead and make this up."
Su Er pouted, her face full of resentment.
The two bickered all the way downstairs, where Aunt Cui brought over some mung bean soup. "Little Er," she said, "Yan-ge'er is right. We can't take advantage of our youth to indulge in cold things. What will we do when we're old..."
Su Er gulped down a mouthful of mung bean soup, her eyes lighting up. "Aunt Cui, your mung bean soup is so delicious!"
Aunt Cui's attention was immediately diverted. "If it's delicious, I'll make it for you again next time. Here, Aunt Cui will get you another bowl."
"No..." Before she could refuse, all she could see was Aunt Cui's back.
Jiang Siyan saw through her feint at a glance and looked at her with a mocking smile.
Su Er knew she had shot herself in the foot, so she tugged at his sleeve and said coquettishly, "Stop laughing, I can't drink anymore, will you drink it for me later?"
"Can't you say it yourself?"
Aunt Cui was so excited, how could she let her get away with it?
