As it turned out, they had greatly underestimated Jiang Tingxu's level of troublemaking.
This kid gets really excited as soon as the showerhead turns on; he covers the showerhead with his hand and splashes water or jumps around.
Fearing he might fall, Jiang Siyan had to carefully protect him. Although he and Su Er worked together, they were still inexperienced. Taking a bath not only left them both soaked but also covered in sweat.
Jiang Siyan wrapped Jiang Tingxu in a bath towel and threw him onto the bed. The room was warm and cozy with the heating on, so it didn't feel cold at all.
Jiang Tingxu, with his bare bottom exposed, was having a great time poking at the flesh on his belly.
Su Er took out two towels, rubbed her wet and messy hair, and let out a long sigh of relief.
"Dry your hair, it's all wet." Su Er stood on tiptoe, wrapped the towel around Jiang Siyan's neck, and couldn't help but ask, "How did so much water get splashed on you?"
The two met eyes, each looking more disheveled than the other. Then, looking at the little one on the bed, they both burst out laughing almost simultaneously.
Hearing them laugh, Jiang Tingxu, who was on the bed, also looked up blankly and joined in with a "hehehe" laugh.
Jiang Siyan brought over diapers and clothes to change him. "You brat, how dare you laugh?"
As he spoke, he swung his large hand and delivered a solid slap to his round buttocks with a "smack".
The poor little guy was whimpering and trying to get up from the bed when this blow knocked him down.
The beds were soft, and Jiang Siyan didn't use much force, but the next second, a loud "Wah!" suddenly rang out in the bedroom.
"Jiang Siyan, why did you hit him for no reason?" Su Er rushed over and picked him up. "Let me see. Xu Xu, be a good boy and tell Auntie, where does it hurt?"
Jiang Siyan was completely innocent, saying, "I didn't exert any force at all."
“Then what is he…” Su Er stopped mid-sentence, because the little one in his arms was snuggling against his chest, driven by an instinctive hunger.
Jiang Siyan obviously saw through it too, and simply pulled the person into his arms.
Jiang Tingxu's crying stopped for a moment. He touched the area and found it to be hard muscle. In an instant, his crying became even louder.
"Do you need me to make milk? What if I don't know how?" Su Er raised her voice slightly, looking troubled.
Jiang Siyan pointed to the bathroom and gestured to her, "I have a recipe for making this on my phone. Just follow it."
The crying grew louder and louder in her ears. Su Er hurriedly ran over, found the long conversation that had been sent, and then ran outside to find the backpack that Jiang Siyan had brought back.
While comforting the person in his arms, Jiang Siyan didn't forget to remind her, "Run slowly, don't fall."
Su Er didn't care about any of that. Following the instructions sent to her, she poured water and made formula, only thinking about stopping the crying as soon as possible.
She had just checked the temperature and was about to go back to her room when Jiang Siyan's phone in her hand suddenly vibrated.
She didn't think much of it, just glanced at it habitually, but the quick glance made her stop in her tracks.
Jiang Zhuoli: [Jiang Siyan, you'd better break off that actress outside as soon as possible...]
The lock screen can only display a limited number of characters, so this is where it ends. Even without careful thought, Su Er could probably guess what was sent.
"Is it surprising?" Su Er asked herself.
It doesn't seem so.
But why does something that was prepared for in advance still cause heartache?
She blinked, suppressing the stinging sensation in her eyes, turned off the screen, composed herself, and went inside. She handed the baby bottle to Jiang Siyan, saying, "It's ready. I tested the temperature on the back of my hand."
Jiang Siyan took the bottle and held it to Jiang Tingxu's lips. The moment he held the bottle, the room finally returned to silence.
Su Er smiled with relief and leaned over to look at him on the bed: "His little mouth is puffing out, so cute."
"What's so cute about him? Haven't you had enough of his antics yet?" Jiang Siyan frowned, unable to understand how this guy could be so unlike his older brother and sister-in-law. At least in his memory, neither of his older brother nor sister-in-law was as troublesome as him.
Su Er didn't find it annoying. She pressed her cheek against the soft sheets, held his little hand, and said, "Kids are all like this, right?"
Jiang Siyan reached out and brushed the strands of hair that were stuck to Su Er's mouth. The warm yellow light from the bedside lamp shone on her face, making her features appear very soft.
For some reason, a part of my heart softened.
“Er Er…” he began.
Su Er hummed in agreement, slowly turning her gaze to him, a gentle and peaceful smile on her lips. "What's wrong?"
Su Er ultimately didn't hear what he was going to say next; the phone that had been on the bed suddenly vibrated.
Jiang Siyan's eyes flickered. "It's okay, I'll go answer a call first."
Su Er nodded and turned her gaze back to the little figure on the bed.
Jiang Siyan's slightly cold voice slowly entered my ears from behind. He was probably talking about work, and his tone was not very pleasant.
Soon, the call ended. He patted Su Er on the shoulder and said, "I have a meeting to attend. If he bothers you, have your aunt come and take him away."
Su Er nodded, but didn't move. "I understand."
Jiang Siyan walked halfway, then turned back and lifted the person up from the ground. "Sitting on the ground, aren't you afraid of getting cold?"
Sometimes, Su Er really couldn't understand whether Jiang Siyan also had any feelings for her.
This relationship was never innocent from the start, and they were both well aware of it.
How can one expect a happy ending when everyone has their own agenda at the beginning?
