Chapter 145 Goodbye, Jiang Siyan (The Finale)

"No."

...

"I miss you so much, Er'er."

It turns out that all those seemingly unimportant questions were just for the sake of this one sentence.

The evening breeze in the valley brushed against her cheeks, soothing the bittersweet feeling brought on by the whispered words of her former lover.

Su Er lowered her eyes and sighed softly, "Jiang Siyan, don't call me anymore, we've broken up."

After that, Jiang Siyan never called her again.

They returned to their respective life paths, and their paths would never intersect again.

No one is indispensable; life goes on as usual, and love is just a minor experience in life.

The year they broke up, Su Er was nominated for Best Actress at several major awards for her role in "Innocent".

She was filming Director Guo's movie at the time and did not attend the ceremony.

It's a pity that many excellent works were produced at the same time, and she was defeated.

Director Guo patted her on the shoulder and said, "Xiao Er, believe in yourself. Next year's Best Actress award will definitely be yours. You are the most talented actress I have ever worked with."

As it turns out, she was right.

At the end of the second year after her breakup with Jiang Siyan, her second film with director Guo was released to widespread acclaim from both industry insiders and the general public.

That same year, she won her first Best Actress award, followed by a second, a third...

Soon after, she flew to Berlin, where she reclaimed the trophy she had missed out on at the start of her career.

Her flight back to China took place in the early hours of the morning. She landed in Beicheng, where a large group of reporters were waiting at the airport, their flashes turning the originally dark and quiet night into daylight.

Su Er was wrapped in a down jacket, her face was bare of makeup, and a pair of sunglasses covered most of her face.

The reporter tried every means to get the camera in front of her, asking, "I heard you're planning to take a break afterward, is that right?"

Have you found any new scripts?

"Is there anything you'd like to say about receiving this award?"

...

Lin Shuqin led them outside, saying, "Excuse me, could you please wait in the open space outside? We have scheduled time for your interviews, so please don't disrupt public order. Thank you."

Lin Shuqin had anticipated this scene and had made preparations in advance.

It was half an hour later when Su Er stood still and answered all their questions with a smile. After all, she had experienced a long flight, and the fatigue on her face was hard to hide.

Lin Shuqin noticed her fatigue and stepped forward to shield her from the microphone. "I'm sorry, it's getting late. Xiao Er needs to go back and rest. We've prepared some simple gifts for everyone. Thank you all for coming today."

Just as Su Er was about to turn and leave, a voice suddenly rang out, "Xiao Er, can we talk about your current love life?"

Many actors avoid talking about this, especially during their most dazzling and successful moments, as they don't want their love life to overshadow their career achievements.

But Su Er didn't care too much about it. She believed that both her personal life and her work were part of what led to her current success, and that her love life couldn't overshadow her career achievements. There was nothing to hide.

Lin Shuqin originally wanted to stop this question for her.

Su Er stopped and said it was nothing. She smiled at the reporter and said, "I remember you. You look much more mature than you did two years ago."

She asked the same question two years ago, and it was because of that question that she gained her boss's appreciation and was promoted from intern to full-time employee.

Su Er replied, "I am single now."

"You mentioned wanting to take a break before, was that related to your love life?"

"Of course not. It's been a long time since my last relationship ended. I'm taking a break because I want to improve my acting skills and give myself some time to learn."

She continued, "Aren't you worried that taking such a break will affect your career development?"

Su Er shook her head. "I'm not afraid."

"Excuse me, one last question: Xiao Er, do you have any expectations for your next relationship?"

Su Er nodded with a smile, "Of course, I still look forward to love. If I meet the right person, I will share the good news with everyone."

After answering the question, Su Er didn't linger. She simply waved at the camera, turned around, and got into the car.

In the northern part of the city, she still lived in the small house she had bought before.

It's a bit far, but the scenery is beautiful, and she's gotten used to living there.

The car started moving steadily, and Lin Shuqin handed her an eye mask and a pillow. "Are you tired?"

Su Er twisted her neck. "It's alright."

"Go to sleep first, I'll wake you up when it's time."

"Um."

Fortunately, there was no traffic jam at this time, but it was already 3 a.m. when the car entered the underground parking garage.

Su Er slept quite comfortably on the way, and her previous fatigue was relieved a lot.

"Lili and I will help you with your luggage. You should go upstairs quickly," Lin Shuqin urged her.

"Okay." Su Er opened the car door, carrying only her own bag.

As was her habit before, she would get out of the car and head straight for the elevator.

But at that very moment, for some reason, she turned around and glanced behind her.

Su Er stopped in her tracks, squinted, and took a closer look at the car model and license plate.

The memories etched deep in her heart are unforgettable. She had traveled to many places in this car and shared many warm and sweet moments with him on it.
