Chapter 145 Goodbye, Jiang Siyan (The Finale)

Lin Shuqin, puzzled by her lingering gaze, followed her look and was taken aback. "Xiao Er, you..."

Su Er smiled reassuringly at her, "Sister Qin, you guys go up first, I'll go say hello to him."

Su Er approached and bent down to knock on his car window.

Soon, the car window rolled down, and it was the person she had expected; the reunion came unexpectedly.

In the past two years, they have met once or twice, but that's all.

Su Er smiled at him and said, "Long time no see."

Jiang Siyan opened the car door. "Would you like to come in and have a seat?"

"Okay." Su Er sat down without hesitation.

Two years have passed, and now we can face all the love and hate with equanimity.

He was still the same as he was two years ago, not much different. Su Er turned her head to look at him and asked, "Why are you here so late?"

"I came to see you," Jiang Siyan said. "How have you been?"

"Yes, that's great." Su Er said with a smile, "I won an award, and you've helped me a lot, I know that, Jiang Siyan, thank you."

When she broke up with him, her studio wasn't very well-established yet, and she didn't have much influence in the industry.

Su Er had already witnessed this before. In the entertainment industry, there are countless people who climb up by stepping on others. It's not enough to just have talent and beauty to stay popular.

It also depends on the capital behind them. You can't afford to offend anyone by accident. You have to be careful to please those who control resources.

Without his protection and support, she wouldn't be able to dedicate herself so fully to acting. She might have ended up with a lot of negative press and faced a massive online backlash because of a dinner party she didn't want to attend.

But those dirty and sordid things never got involved with her.

Su Er knew, of course, who was protecting her behind the scenes.

—That's the only one left.

Jiang Siyan laughed too, looked at her, and resisted the urge to hug her. "Er'er, you're smarter and prettier now."

Su Erru, like an old friend, joked with him, "I admit that."

They chatted about their recent situations, and Su Er roughly estimated the time; this greeting had taken quite a while.

She pointed out the window, bid him farewell, and said, "It's getting late, Jiang Siyan, I'm going upstairs now."

Jiang Siyan didn't say yes, but simply opened his palm to her, "Aren't you going to give me a hug?"

Su Er smiled softly and leaned in to gently embrace him.

The hug they missed when they broke up back then, it's not too late to make up for it today.

Almost the instant she hugged him, Jiang Siyan tightened his arms around her, his powerful grip seeming as if he wanted to meld her into his very bones.

Su Er didn't struggle or urge him; she simply patted his back and waited for him to let go.

Jiang Siyan buried his face in her neck and whispered, "Er'er, if only back then..."

Su Er knew what he was going to say and interrupted him, "Jiang Siyan, there are no 'what ifs,' and you're not the kind of person who would say 'what ifs.' It's all in the past."

Even if we do it all over again, the ending won't change.

They hugged for a long time, until the pressure gradually loosened, and Su Er felt a slightly cool touch on the side of her face.

She couldn't tell if it was a kiss or tears, only hearing him whisper an apology, "I'm sorry, Er'er."

"It doesn't matter."

He finally let go of her, and just like before, he zipped her coat all the way up, got out of the car and opened the door for her, saying, "Get in."

Su Er strode back the way she came.

But this time, she turned around, waved, and said, "Goodbye, Jiang Siyan."
