Chapter 21 Are you afraid of me?

Fang Li started crying again, "I don't like you! You don't like me! You never kiss me!"

Su Erzhen regretted bringing her out for drinks; how could she have been so boisterous?

She held up the hem of her dress to prevent her from being exposed, and said helplessly, "Will you just get in the car if I give you a kiss?"

Fang Li chuckled and said, "Okay."

Jiang Siyan frowned, wondering how someone could believe even a drunkard's words.

"Er'er," he called out.

Su Er was startled and subconsciously turned her head to look into those eyes shrouded in a thin mist.

The tailor-made shirt accentuated his already tall and handsome figure, and he walked towards her with a calm and unhurried demeanor, completely contrary to the bustling atmosphere of the city.

Su Er suddenly had a misconception.

The moment he stepped into the secular world was for her.

Su Er hadn't expected Jiang Siyan to arrive so quickly, and called out in a daze, "Mr. Jiang."

The next moment, she felt a lightness on her body. The arms that had been wrapped around her neck and shoulders were thrown off and mercilessly to Lin Shuqin, who was standing to the side.

Su Er's wrist suddenly tightened, and she was slightly pulled, causing her to stumble.

Suddenly, the familiar scent of sandalwood mixed with tobacco enveloped her little by little.

Fang Li leaned against Lin Shuqin, still not fully conscious. After a few seconds, her half-asleep eyes suddenly lit up, and she pointed at Jiang Siyan and exclaimed, "Handsome guy!"

Su Er was so shocked and stunned that she even forgot to break free from Jiang Siyan's embrace.

Fang Li stared at the two of them for a while, still a little dazed, then gave them a thumbs up and said, "They're a perfect match!"

In the blink of an eye, he fell asleep.

Su Er felt ashamed and angry, wishing she could disappear into a crack in the ground.

Lin Shuqin, having seen many big occasions, remained calm and greeted Jiang Siyan first, then helped Fang Li into the car.

Her tone was normal, as if she hadn't seen anything just now, "Xiao Er, I'll take Fang Li back first, and I'll come pick you up in a bit."

Jiang Siyan smiled indifferently upon hearing this; the words were meant for him.

Su Er kept her head down, her chin pressed against her chest, and hummed in response.

The car's departure stirred up a gust of wind.

She felt a warmth on the back of her neck, and a hand gently pinched her skin. She flinched and looked up at him in surprise.

Startled, her eyes were wet, carrying a charming allure that she herself was unaware of.

Jiang Siyan's Adam's apple bobbed. He didn't loosen his grip, but leaned down slightly. Their eyes met, and he took in all her panic and shyness.

Just before their noses were about to touch, Su Er abruptly turned her head away.

She could see clearly that his gaze had just fallen on her lips.

Jiang Siyan chuckled and said, "Afraid of me?" His breath was hot against his cheek.

She closed her eyes briefly, feigning composure, "No, why would I be afraid of you?"

"Then why don't you dare look at me?"

He intended to find out the reason.

Su Er suppressed the dizziness and tried to regain her senses. She gently pushed against her chest and said in a muffled voice, "Please let go of me first."

Looking at her flushed cheeks, Jiang Siyan knew that if the girl provoked him any further, she would probably lose her temper.

He let go of her hand and, out of kindness, helped her steady herself.

Su Er didn't answer his previous question, and awkwardly changed the subject, trying to bring their conversation back on track, "Lili is still young and drunk, so please don't take what she said to heart."

"Still young," Jiang Siyan pondered these four words and couldn't help but laugh. How old could she be?

With one hand in his pocket, Jiang Siyan, like a refined gentleman, asked her seemingly obliviously, "Which sentence?"

Su Er was a little annoyed. She bit her lip lightly and replied resentfully, "Every single word."

Jiang Siyan indulgently agreed, "Okay, I'll do whatever you say."

After being teased by this person for a long time, Su Er felt that her skin had become much thicker, and at least her ability to pretend to be deaf and dumb had definitely reached a new level.

She merely blinked slightly before asking, "What would you like to eat?"

Jiang Siyan wasn't really there to eat; he just casually picked a spot and said, "This is fine."

"You want barbecue?" she asked, somewhat surprised.

In her mind, Jiang Siyan was the kind of person who had to find a courtyard house to eat skewers, and have the chef skewer and grill them fresh and hand them to him.

Sitting in such a formal suit in the noisy hall, she felt utterly out of place.

Jiang Siyan lit a cigarette and asked her, "What? The barbecue here isn't good?"

No sooner had she finished speaking than Su Er received a glare from him.

It was the owner of the barbecue restaurant who came out to watch the commotion.

Su Er quickly waved her hand and said with utmost sincerity, "No... it's delicious, it's very delicious."

Jiang Siyan didn't care at all, "As long as it tastes good, that's all that matters."

Su Er glanced at the increasingly crowded shop, thought for a moment, and said thoughtfully, "Please wait a moment, I'll go ask if there are any private rooms available."

She jogged towards the door, her hair swaying gently behind her head, the soft, slightly wavy strands resembling a long tail wave on the sea.

The owner here is notoriously bad-tempered. When Su Er asked if there were any private rooms, and considering the misunderstanding that had just happened, he said sarcastically in an unfriendly tone, "The point of eating skewers here is to have a good time. Do you have such a big ego that you need a private room?"

Jiang Siyan paused, his hand holding the cigarette twitching slightly. He was about to take a step when he heard Su Er reply kindly, "It's nothing, thank you for your help."

She is truly like a piece of warm jade without any sharp edges or corners, easily smoothing out any restless emotions.

Jiang Siyan took a drag of his cigarette, watched her retreating figure, and curled the corners of his lips into a smile.
