Chapter 51 But Er'er, I like it very much

The person in the photo is wearing a strapless evening gown, looking noble and elegant, with an indifferent expression that gives off an otherworldly, divine quality.

The embroidered print on the dress beautifully outlines the curves of her body. The chest is decorated with three-dimensional flowers wrapped in ribbons, and extra pale purple ribbons meander from them, wrapping around her arms and flowing behind her like the shape of an evening breeze.

Jiang Siyan said sincerely, "It looks good."

The awkwardness from before faded away under his skillful and natural embrace. Jiang Siyan held a book in one hand, while Su Er lay on her side with her head on his chest, scrolling through her phone.

She used her alternate account to comment on posts about herself, mostly posting things like, "You're so beautiful!"

[Moonlight is really good!]

...

She was responsible for maintaining her own reputation, and besides, what she said was all the truth.

Su Er looked at her work with satisfaction, admired it for a while, and then skillfully switched to other software to watch videos.

The fluffy head resting on him moved around, a faint smile occasionally appearing at the corners of its mouth. When it saw something funny, its slender fingers would always reach out to him to share it, saying, "Look at this comment, isn't it funny?"

Everything else was fine, but with such a warm and soft woman in his arms, and her loose hair always stubbornly brushing against the exposed skin at the open collar, it was hard not to feel a stirring in his heart.

Just as Su Er turned around and approached again, Jiang Siyan put down his book, helplessly grabbed her wrist, and imprisoned her in his arms. He hugged her from behind, buried his face in her neck, and breathed deeply, "Er'er, don't move."

The phone fell onto the bed, the heat pressing against her lower back and buttocks burning hot. Upon hearing his voice, Su Er immediately understood why.

She turned around to face him, her small hand casually resting on Jiang Siyan's lower abdomen, tapping his side, looking up at him with sparkling eyes, and smiling mischievously, "Do you want... me to help you?"

That statement is incredibly tempting.

Jiang Siyan grabbed her mischievous hand, took a deep breath, and tensed his facial muscles. "No need, just behave yourself."

He didn't want it himself, so it's not her fault he's suffering from it.

Su Er pouted and said "Oh," pressing her nose against his chest, calmly preparing to drift off to sleep. "Turn off the light."

"Are you going to sleep?"

Su Er: "Let's give it a try."

Whether I can fall asleep or not is still uncertain.

Jiang Siyan turned off the light as instructed. Listening to his even breathing, Su Er felt a little bored.

She drank a lot of coffee during the day, so she wasn't sleepy at all; her eyes were wide open like copper bells in the night.

After a while, Su Er poked his chin and asked in a low voice, "Jiang Siyan, are you asleep?"

What do you think?

The hardness pressing against her lower abdomen showed no signs of abating, and she knew he wasn't asleep.

Su Er rolled over and looked up at the ceiling, fumbling with her fingers in the dark, and said, "How about we chat for a while without turning on the lights?"

Jiang Siyan adjusted his position so she could rest her head on his arm more comfortably. "Okay, go ahead."

Su Er recalled the topic that had abruptly ended on the terrace and began to talk to him with great interest, "Jiang Siyan, guess how I became nearsighted?"

"From reading?" Jiang Siyan thought subconsciously.

"Yes and no. When I was in junior high school, I became obsessed with reading novels. Every night, I would secretly read them in bed with a flashlight. For three years, I was never caught. I could tell from the sound of my mom's footsteps whether she was going to get water or coming to my room." Her tone was as if she was showing off some amazing skill.

But the next second, she felt regretful, "I just started wearing glasses after finishing junior high school."

Jiang Siyan had seen Su Er wearing glasses before; they were narrow-rimmed glasses with gold wire rims, which made her look very scholarly.

Jiang Siyan gave her a fair assessment: "She looks good with or without glasses."

Su Er scoffed at his straight-male remarks, but her enthusiasm for sharing remained undiminished. "When I was in high school, I became obsessed with a band. Once, they had a concert in Nancheng. My friend and I skipped evening self-study to sneak over. We ran back to school when it was almost time to leave, and we almost got caught."

Jiang Siyan couldn't help but laugh when he thought of how she hid in his arms to avoid people in Nancheng last time. He asked her, "Will you get beaten up?"

Su Er denied it, "No, my parents don't hit me. Usually, they'll reason with me first, and then I'll lose my right to close my bedroom door, my right to go home on my own after school, my teachers will become my eyes and ears, and they won't talk to me for a while."

She spoke calmly, as if she were already used to it all.

But from these simple words, he seemed to see Su Er, who had been imprisoned by the word "well-behaved" since childhood.

The atmosphere was somewhat silent. Jiang Siyan stroked her shoulder and smiled thoughtfully, "No wonder you ignored me when you were angry last time. It turns out you learned it from your parents."

Su Er had no intention of dwelling on her memories anymore; her attention was entirely focused on those two terms of address. Her face flushed red in the darkness, and she turned away shyly, scolding him playfully, "How can you be so annoying!"

The girl's temper flared up in waves, and after a short while she snapped back to her old self, asking him, "Jiang Siyan, don't you think I talk too much?"

Jiang Siyan closed his eyes and said in a nonchalant tone, "Hmm, chattering like a little sparrow."

Su Er's eyes widened upon hearing this.

In the darkness of night, no one could see that she had been sulking for a few seconds. This time, she really didn't want to talk to him anymore. She snorted and was about to turn over again.

Jiang Siyan didn't give her that chance. He pulled her into his arms and whispered a secret in her ear that she shouldn't tell.

He said, "But Er'er, I like her very much."

Su Er didn't quite remember how she fell asleep. After he said those words, she seemed to be frozen in place. Finally, she mustered up her courage and kissed him on the cheek, saying in a solemn tone, "Jiang Siyan, I like you too."

This kiss was far less intimate and lingering than the one in the courtyard. It carried no lust, yet it stirred the depths of my heart more powerfully than any other kiss. Like the first flower bud blooming in the morning light, it was pure and unforgettable.

He lowered his head and kissed the top of her head, holding her close as his breathing slowed: "Sleep."

Regardless of what happens in the future, she only knows that in this moment, she was truly happy.

As Su Er drifted off to sleep, she sensed that the warmth around her seemed to be slipping away.

She woke up half-asleep and grabbed him, asking, "Where are you going?"

Jiang Siyan sat back down on the edge of the bed and covered her with the blanket. "Take a bath."

Why do I need to take a shower in the middle of the night?

The question flashed through her mind, but was quickly overcome by sleepiness. She hugged a small bundle of blankets, listened to the sound of water coming from the bathroom, and drifted off to sleep.
