Chapter 52 Why Did You Bite Me?

That night, Jiang Siyan discovered that the little girl especially liked to cling to people while sleeping. Apart from her well-behaved little face, her sleeping posture was hardly graceful.

She looks tiny, but she's incredibly clingy. Wherever he sleeps, she follows, like an octopus, clinging to him with her arms and legs. Even if you move her back to her own pillow, she'll stick to you again in no time.

After a while, she started whining and complaining.

The cold shower before bed was a waste of time, so Jiang Siyan finally gave up struggling, held her in his arms, and slept exceptionally long.

Jiang Siyan woke up at eight o'clock, an hour later than he usually does.

Although he had arranged the work that needed to be done in advance last night, Jiang Siyan didn't have the habit of staying in bed, especially with such a clingy little devil next to him, the situation was too easy to get out of control.

He brushed her hair aside and kissed her cheek; Su Er's breathing remained steady.

She was fast asleep when Jiang Siyan carefully pulled Su Er's hands and feet off him, then took a pillow and put it in her arms. He was very quiet when he opened the door, afraid of waking her up.

As Jiang Siyan went downstairs, he couldn't help but chuckle. In his own home, he felt like a thief.

"Yan-ge'er, get up." Aunt Cui saw him come down and turned to bring him breakfast.

Jiang Siyan waved his hand, "Aunt Cui, let's skip breakfast for now. I'm going for a run. Su Er isn't awake yet, so tell someone not to go up and disturb her."

"Okay, sure." Aunt Cui glanced upstairs and couldn't help but laugh. "How strange, you've become caring. It looks cloudy outside today, so don't run around for too long, or you'll catch a cold if you get caught in the rain."

Jiang Siyan responded and went out. After running for half an hour, he arrived home just as a few raindrops began to fall from the sky.

The heat of the night finally dissipated somewhat as I was drenched in sweat.

"You're back." Aunt Cui greeted him at the door and handed him a towel.

Jiang Siyan wiped his sweat and looked upstairs. "Not up yet?"

Aunt Cui shook her head and said, "I didn't hear any noise."

Jiang Siyan walked upstairs. "Let the breakfast stay warm for now. I'm going to take a shower first."

He didn't go back to the master bedroom. Instead, he went to the bathroom in the second bedroom to wash off the hot, sweaty clothes, changed his clothes, and then quietly turned the doorknob.

The room wasn't completely dark; a few rays of light shone through the gaps in the curtains, and the faint sound of raindrops falling on the terrace could be heard outside.

Jiang Siyan approached the bedside. Su Er's movements were exactly the same as before he left; she hadn't moved an inch. She was curled up, looking like a tiny ball of glutinous rice.

Jiang Siyan pulled the curtains back shut, lay down on his side, took the pillow from her arms, and pulled her back into his embrace.

At this moment, she looked incredibly well-behaved. Jiang Siyan couldn't resist and childishly reached out to pinch her small nose. Su Er couldn't breathe, her brows furrowed, and she whimpered as she tried to push him away, "Oh, Sister Qin, sleep for another five minutes."

Jiang Siyan released her hand, and seeing the satisfied smile on her face, he couldn't help but smile back at her.

I can be so happy even when I'm just taking a nap.

Although I said it would only take five minutes, once I lay down, I didn't wake up for another hour.

Jiang Siyan was woken up by Su Er's cell phone, which was placed on the bedside table and kept vibrating.

He reached over and grabbed the phone, squinted at it, and saw the caller ID: Sister Qin.

Jiang Siyan didn't answer her call without permission. He pinched Su Er's cheek and called her softly, "Er'er, answer the phone."

"Hmm?" Su Er mumbled a response, showing no sign of waking up.

Jiang Siyan patiently helped her sit up a little, letting her close her eyes and lean against him, and asked, "Should we answer Lin Shuqin's call?"

Upon hearing the name Lin Shuqin, Su Er could barely open her eyes, but she still nodded subconsciously, "Mm."

Jiang Siyan pressed the answer button, supporting her with one hand and holding the phone to her ear with the other.

This feeling was very strange; it was a level of patience that exceeded his self-awareness.

Lin Shuqin's shrill voice came through the receiver, "Xiao Er! We passed the audition!"

Jiang Siyan and Su Er frowned almost simultaneously. Jiang Siyan found the voice too grating, while Su Er hadn't yet realized what she was saying.

"Hmm?" she managed to squeeze out a question from her throat.

"Audition! I passed the audition!"

Su Er took a few seconds to react, then suddenly opened her eyes and took the phone from Jiang Siyan's hand: "Really?"

She was still somewhat incredulous.

"Really! Training starts next week, and the second female lead role is yours!"

Overwhelmed with joy, Su Er didn't even notice the person beside her and started chatting with Lin Shuqin.

Many things don't necessarily yield results just because you try hard; she was actually mentally prepared to be rejected.

But at this moment, all her previous efforts have come to fruition. Although it is only a very small step, the surprise for her is enormous, enough to dispel all her recent fatigue and sadness.

A dozen minutes later, after hanging up the phone, Su Er remembered something: Jiang Siyan went out? When?

The curtains were drawn back, and the rain was pattering down outside. In my good mood, the raindrops falling on the wooden planks sounded like a cheerful symphony.

Su Er didn't rush to find him. Instead, she lay back down on the bed, pulled the blanket over her head, buried herself in the blanket, and couldn't help but laugh as she looked at the documents Lin Shuqin had sent her.

The person, who had been ignored for more than ten minutes, stepped back into the room and immediately saw a blanket rolled up on the bed, with the head wrapped tightly, but a pair of fair and tender feet sticking out and happily tapping to the rhythm.

Jiang Siyan was both amused and annoyed. He stepped forward and pulled off the blanket. "Alright, aren't you afraid of suffocating yourself?"
