Chapter 84 Let's make a wish together

By December, almost two months had passed, and Su Er thought that she and Jiang Siyan would probably not have any further contact.

After all, no matter how good-tempered he is, he's not the kind of person who would humbly admit his mistakes.

She rejected him time and time again; did she really expect him to come up with all sorts of ways to coax her?

In the first few days, her mood was indeed affected, and she was somewhat out of sorts while filming.

Although several takes were passed, Su Er herself could feel that the camera effect was not as good as before.

Duan Wenxi had always been quite satisfied with her. When he noticed that something was wrong with her, he didn't say much. He just gave her a day off so that she could adjust herself.

Compared to Director Duan, Lin Shuqin was not so easy to talk to. She scolded her harshly and then asked her a question: did she still want to act?

Su Er suddenly realized that she had worked so hard for so long and suffered so much, all for the sake of presenting her best self in front of the camera.

She began to immerse herself in the performance, studying the script repeatedly and striving to get closer to the character.

The moment she shouted "Action!" and the camera focused on her, she completely abandoned the name Su Er and became that ambitious Qing Dynasty princess.

"Great! Cut!" Duan Wenxi couldn't hide his excitement and gave her a thumbs up. "Xiao Er, that look you just gave me was really good, absolutely brilliant!"

The emotional fluctuations in that scene were too great, and Su Er couldn't immediately detach herself from the character. She managed a weak smile, her voice still choked with emotion, "Thank you, Director Duan."

Wearing the down jacket Lin Shuqin handed her, Su Er sat in the chair, tears still streaming down her face.

Fortunately, she didn't have any more scenes to film today, otherwise her makeup probably wouldn't have been able to be touched up.

"Are you alright?" Ji Lin handed her a tissue.

Su Er sobbed and slapped his hand away, "Don't talk to me, stay away from me, I get angry just looking at you."

Just now in the drama, Ji Lin had "betrayed her," and Su Er really didn't like him.

Ji Lin knew where her anger came from, and fearing that she wouldn't be able to get out of character, he teased her in a funny way, "Grandma, I'm really wronged."

The staff around couldn't help but laugh when they heard this.

The laughter infected Su Er's emotions, and she finally managed to stop her tears when she suddenly heard someone outside shouting, "It's snowing!"

It was a time for rest, and the group ran out of the house to enjoy the snow.

They were still wearing their costumes. Although it was just a set of red walls and green tiles, for a moment, it felt like stepping back into that dynasty.

Su Er was looking up at the sky when a snowflake fell on her face, turning into a few tiny water droplets. Suddenly, an unnatural voice of praise rang in her ears, "Your acting was pretty good."

It's Li Ling.

Su Er turned to look at her and nodded, "I know."

Li Ling pouted, somewhat speechless. "You really are... not humble at all, you've got quite the thick skin."

Su Er was already used to her personality of praising one thing and criticizing the other, and casually raised an eyebrow, "I know that too."

Ji Lin couldn't help but laugh out loud, "You two are really good at arguing."

Faced with such beautiful scenery, bickering and arguing seemed to have lost their importance. They blended into the crowd, becoming part of the exclamations of wonder and praise.

Looking at the snowflakes falling like goose feathers, Su Er couldn't help but sigh, "This snow is really heavy. I wonder how long it will last."

Ji Lin picked up where she left off, "I checked the weather forecast, it says it will rain overnight."

"Then the snow will accumulate by tomorrow morning, right?" Su Er asked hopefully.

"I guess so."

Su Er couldn't help but widen her eyes, "Really?!"

Li Ling looked at her with disdain, clearly annoyed by her loud and boisterous nature. "Why are you so easily startled? Haven't you ever seen snow before?"

Su Er explained in a serious tone, "I didn't see much snow when I was a child. There's rarely heavy snow in the southern part of the city. It usually melts away overnight."

Upon hearing this, Li Ling proudly gestured with her fingers, "Based on my experience, at this rate, the snow will accumulate to this thickness by tomorrow."

Su Er couldn't help but raise an eyebrow, "Then we can build a snowman!"

Li Ling rolled her eyes. "Tch, childish."

Su Er ignored her, her mind preoccupied with the thought that she seemed to be missing a pair of waterproof gloves. She would have to check the food delivery app later, lest her hands freeze while building a snowman tomorrow.

Just then, Ji Lin suddenly leaned close to her ear mysteriously and said, "Hey, have you heard that legend?"

His nervous tone made Li Ling glance at him sideways.

Su Er asked blankly, "What?"

Ji Lin snapped his fingers and said, "When it snows heavily in Hengdian, a blockbuster product is bound to emerge."

The atmosphere froze for a moment. Li Ling crossed her arms and rolled her eyes so hard they almost reached the sky. "You're childish too. No wonder you two can get along so well."

After saying that, she turned to leave.

Su Er and Ji Lin exchanged a glance, then grabbed her arms from either side.

"Hey! What are you doing?! Are you rebelling?! Director!" Her exclamation was drowned out by the laughter of the crowd.

"Young Miss, let's make a wish together." Su Er placed her hand on the back of Ji Lin's hand.

"Then wish us all the best for becoming wildly popular this year!" As they said this, the three of them swung their hands high into the sky.

This is the simplest and most basic wish for artists, but also the most difficult to fulfill.

While complaining, "You two are so childish and immature," Li Ling unconsciously raised her arms.

The emotion felt in that instant was truly rare; it was a pure and unadulterated sincerity that could still be felt after one's student days had ended.

No matter what happens in the future, they will probably never forget this snowy night.

So how many moments can truly leave a lasting impression on a person's memory?

Su Er has rarely thought about Jiang Siyan lately. They have no friends together, and apart from seeing information about him in the news, she knows nothing about him.

Two months is enough time for those sweet memories to fade into a thin mist. Perhaps at some point, she will completely forget this person, as if he had never existed in her life.

But at this moment, Su Er had to admit that she was far from reaching the carefree level she had hoped for.

Almost instinctively, she wanted to pick up her phone and share this indescribable scene with him.

But once she comes to her senses, she also mocks herself for being delusional.

But perhaps the reason why life is always full of anticipation is that most things will never proceed as you expect, following a fixed program without any mistakes.

Just like on that night she was full of anticipation, unexpectedly, she and Jiang Siyan parted ways in awkward silence.

On this snowy day, which she had no expectations of, she unexpectedly ran into him again.
