Chapter 16 Bloodstains After the Fake Heiress Escapes Her Wedding

Chapter 16 Bloodstains After the Fake Heiress Escapes Her Wedding

Gong Hanlu's birthday banquet was in complete chaos. Several bodyguards pushed through the crowd, and Gong Hanlu walked over through the open space.

"Take Mu Feng back to sober up."

The burly bodyguards forcibly took Gong Mufeng away from the scene. Yun Chiyi, without anything to support her, suddenly collapsed to the ground, tears streaming down her face like broken pearls.

Most of the people present remembered her; they had a pleasant conversation that evening, during which she was all smiles. They never expected her to suffer such injustice now.

Gong Hanlu gritted his teeth and looked at Wang Jianjia, who was curled up on the ground. He hadn't invited him to any of the Gong family's events for several years, and now that he had come, he had caused such a commotion.

Wang Jianjia convulsed on the ground, and those around him instinctively took a step back.

She was afraid of catching some kind of unclean disease from him.

Gong Hanlu first helped Yun Chiyi, whose legs were weak, to her feet: "Are you hurt anywhere?"

Yun Chiyi's eyes were filled with tears as she shook her head repeatedly.

A white figure passed through the crowd, and warm hands supported the dizzy Yun Chiyi. Wen Yanyan and Qi Quan were taking a walk in the backyard when they heard people talking about the commotion ahead and hurried over.

Wen Yanyan touched Yun Chiyi's body to check for any wounds and found that she was just stunned by fright.

Yun Chiyi pressed down on the back of her hand: "I'm fine, but this gentleman seems to be seriously injured."

"Let me take Chairman Wang home."

The gentle voice was like a divine response.

Lin Jishen strode into the line of sight and whispered to Gong Hanlu, "Uncle Gong, I'm sorry, we haven't found the source of the fire yet."

He was in a hurry, as if he had just noticed the chaos here.

Gong Hanlu said, "It should be a small matter. You can see Chairman Wang off first."

Lin Jishen nodded, knelt down and helped Wang Jianjia up. His voice was clear and melodious as he gently patted Wang Jianjia's back: "Chairman Wang, you've really had too much to drink today. Where is your car parked?"

Wang Jianjia was only focused on coughing. If it had been an ordinary person who hit him today, he would have definitely called the police to ensure the other party had no chance to retaliate.

But that was Gong Mufeng, Gong Hanlu's only son.

Lin Jishen helped the limping Wang Jianjia walk into the darkness. The people around them, having had their fill of the spectacle, awkwardly bid farewell.

In the blink of an eye, the Gong family home became deserted.

Yun Chiyi drank some hot water, her eyes still filled with tears, and her emotions seemed to have stabilized a little.

Wen Yan Yan frowned deeply: "How could this happen?"

Yun Chiyi shook her head blankly: "I didn't know he would suddenly act so abnormally."

With reddened eyes, she surveyed the deserted scene and suddenly realized something: she hadn't seen the Gu family father and son for a long time.

"Yan Yan, have you seen Xiao Chi and Daddy?"

Wen Yan Yan lowered her head and thought hard: "I have a vague memory. It seems like they went to the main gate when I came."

The way to the entrance is by passing through here, and Gu Zhao has no reason to ignore Yun Chiyi's grievances.

Yun Chiyi couldn't figure it out, so she asked Wen Yanyan to make a phone call.

Wen Yan carefully dialed the phone number, holding Yun Chiyi's wrist tightly, very worried about her condition.

The call connected, and Wen Yan Yan said simply, "Mr. Gu, this is Wen Yan Yan. Chi Yi is with me right now. She was a little frightened. Have you gone back yet?"

Upon learning that Gu Zhao was still in the parking lot, Wen Yan Yan helped Yun Chi Yi go to find them.

There were only a few cars in the temporary parking lot, so Yun Chiyi was free to move around. She hugged herself and slowly walked to Gu Zhao's car door.

Seeing her dejected expression, Gu Zhao gasped, "Xiao Yi, what's wrong with you?"

Yun Chiyi reacted slowly, staring blankly at him: "Something unexpected happened. Uncle Gong's birthday banquet was ruined. It seems that you've been out for quite a while, Dad, and you haven't seen anything."

Gu Zhao sighed, "Yes, Xiao Chi got an upset stomach, so I brought him out for some fresh air."

A faint smile appeared on Yun Chiyi's pale face. She got into the car with Wen Yanyan and deliberately squeezed towards Gu Chi's side.

"You're always like this, you can't stop eating when you see food."

Because she was startled, her voice was exceptionally soft at that moment.

Gu Chi clasped his hands together and tried to squeeze towards the car door. He trembled violently with every movement.

Yun Chiyi secretly sized him up: "Why aren't you responding when your sister is talking to you?"

Gu Chi breathed heavily, "Mmm..."

Gu Zhao stared at Gu Chi's expression in the rearview mirror: "Xiao Chi, does your stomach still hurt?"

Gu Chi did not respond.

Gu Zhao added, "If you're feeling better now, let's go back first. If you get carsick, we can talk about it on the way."

He intended to leave as soon as he got in the car, but Gu Chi muttered and broke out in a cold sweat, trying to pry open the door and knock on the window, so he didn't dare to start the car at all.

Gu Chi swallowed repeatedly, his melancholy eyes gazing blankly ahead, as if he wanted to rest for a few more minutes.

Yun Chiyi narrowed his long eyes and saw the charred cuff of his sleeve. Suddenly, he had a sudden realization, like the clouds parting to reveal the moon.

Let's find an opportunity to learn more about it first.

Yun Chiyi said leisurely, "Dad, it's too late now. Could you please take us back to Hongshanyuan?"

Gu Zhao hesitated, "This... I still need to take Xiao Chi to the gastroenterology department for emergency treatment."

“But I drove here myself…” Yun Chiyi’s voice trailed off.

Wen Yanyan said abruptly, "You can't drive right now. I can drive, but I can't go too fast. Let's go back together."

Yun Chiyi slowly nodded: "Okay, then I'll trouble you."

She looked down at her bag, slowly found a mint-flavored candy inside, and forcefully pried open Gu Chi's hand, which was almost cramping: "Take it, eat it when you can breathe."

The stomach is an organ related to emotions; in his current state, he will feel uncomfortable no matter what he eats.

Gu Chi's face twitched, and he froze.

Yun Chiyi smiled faintly and said, "Please drive carefully."

Gu Zhao didn't ask why she wasn't feeling well, just gave a few casual words, and then sent the two of them back to the car.

The white car sped onto the road, and Wen Yanyan frowned as she gripped the steering wheel.

Yun Chiyi leaned back lazily in her seat: "It's okay to drive slowly."

Wen Yan opened her mouth as if to speak, but then closed her lips tightly.

Yun Chiyi looked at her: "Please speak."

Wen Yanyan's brow furrowed even more: "Personally, I think President Gu's actions are inappropriate. How could he leave you alone? If Gu Chi has an upset stomach, he can go to the toilet first. Don't you have a private doctor at home? It's so late now, why do you still need to go to the emergency room?"

Yes, it's obviously an unreasonable excuse.

Yun Chi smiled but did not answer.

Suddenly, a strange noise came from the car door, and both girls' shoulders twitched.

A cold, handsome face loomed close to the car window, his black eyes like cold stars, and blood still clung to his jawline.

Lin Jishen gestured to Yun Chiyi to open the window.

Yun Chiyi pressed her snow-white hand to her chest: "Open the door for him."

Wen Yan Yan was quite frightened. She only knew that Lin Ji Shen was different in private and in public, but she never expected that he would be this different.

Isn't this just a gentleman and a devil?

The car door was opened, then closed again, carrying the evening breeze with it.

Yun Chiyi smelled the blood on Lin Jishen's body, and then pursed her lips slightly.

He moved his wrist uncomfortably, revealing a conspicuous wound on the back of his hand. The bleeding had stopped, but a thick layer of scab remained.

How did it get like this in just half an hour?

She reminded Wen Yanyan, "Drive first."

Wen Yan Yan was on the verge of tears: "...My hands are shaking."

I was genuinely terrified by Lin Jishen.

Yun Chiyi had no choice but to get out of the car and let her drive. She glanced at the people sitting quietly in the back.

Out of fear, Wen Yan Yan put on her headphones and opened a playlist of soothing instrumental music.

Then it connected to the car's Bluetooth, and piano music suddenly started playing.

An eerie atmosphere permeated the narrow space.

She quickly apologized, "I'm sorry, I'll turn it off right away."

Yun Chiyi comforted her, "It's okay, I was scared tonight. Music is a good way to heal."

Wen Yan Yan said guiltily, "I'm sorry, I was going to take you back, but now I'm just holding you back."

Yun Chiyi gently explained, "I'm fine now. Can you keep an eye on the road for me? It's too dark and you might not be able to see very well."

Lin Jishen interrupted them: "Drive."

"How did you hurt your hand?" Yun Chiyi stepped on the gas.

Lin Jishen lowered his eyes, a smile playing on his lips: "It's nothing. Chairman Wang turned and looked at me before getting into the car, and then inexplicably started acting crazy again."

He laughed as he spoke: "He was so badly injured, but he was still incredibly strong and wanted to drive away."

Yun Chiyi chimed in, "He's not in good spirits. He'll get into trouble if he goes on the road like this."

Lin Jishen nodded in agreement, so he slightly sobered Wang Jianjia up. Since his hands couldn't drive and couldn't leave, he was temporarily safe.

Looking into his joyful eyes, one could guess what was going to happen.

Yun Chiyi didn't ask any more questions: "Let me take you home first. Do you have any things to treat your wounds at home?"

Lin Jishen looked into her eyes and said, "Hmm."

Finally leaving this place that had been full of twists and turns, Wen Yanyan gripped the seatbelt tightly, her eyes fixed on the view outside the window.

The car smelled strongly of rust.

We arrived in the city center in about 40 to 50 minutes.

Yun Chiyi extinguished the fire and woke up the sleeping Wen Yanyan.

Wen Yan Yan blinked her sleepy eyes and looked at the familiar neighborhood outside the car.

How did we end up downstairs at her house?

Yun Chiyi smiled faintly, showing no trace of the fright she had experienced the night before.

"Yan Yan, we're home."

Wen Yan Yan slowly woke up: "Hmm, I was sleeping so soundly, why did you bring me back first?"

Yun Chiyi looked at the energetic Lin Jishen in the back seat and said, "The navigation chose a route that's close to your home. I'll take him there later."

Wen Yanyan gently clasped her hands together. Yun Chiyi glanced at those fair hands, then smiled warmly. "Let's go back. Let's end things here tonight. It's best if no one talks about today's unpleasantness. Tomorrow is a new day."

Her words were loaded with meaning, implying that Wen Yan should not mention to others that Lin Jishen had gotten into her car.

Wen Yanyan wasn't very bold, but she knew how to read other people's expressions: "It's all in the past. I'm just glad you're okay. I mean it."

Although she didn't know what they were hiding, Wen Yanyan felt that Yun Chiyi had his own reasons.

Yun Chiyi smiled and escorted her to the elevator downstairs before turning back.

As soon as she sat down in the car, Lin Jishen asked her, "You're always so gentle with Wen Yanyan?"

Yun Chiyi hummed softly, "What's wrong? Are you envious?"

Lin Jishen was impatient, displeased, and remained silent.
