Chapter 37 When will you give me a proper title?

"Grandpa." Shi Miao pushed open the door and came in, put her schoolbag on the sofa, and sat down by the old man's bed.

"Miaomiao, you're here." Gu Qingshan leaned against the hospital bed, smiling at Shi Miao.

"Hmm." Shi Miao casually picked up an apple from the table and started peeling it with her head down.

The old man looked at the obedient girl in front of him with slightly red eyes and sighed, "Alas, Grandpa is old and useless, and you have suffered so much."

"What are you saying? You're perfectly healthy. I'm fine. They're not worth my trouble." Shi Miao raised her head slightly, her face softening, and handed a small piece of the peeled apple to Gu Qingshan.

The old man took the apple, composed himself, and asked, "By the way, are you getting used to staying at Yan Chen's place?"

Shi Miao lowered her eyelids, her dark eyelashes thick and long, and said gently, "Yes, it's fine."

Gu Qingshan nodded with satisfaction and said earnestly, "Grandpa can see that Yan Chen truly likes you. With him around, no one will dare to bully you. You must treat him well."

Shi Miao paused in his movements and remained silent for a moment.

Gu Qingshan: "Miaomiao, did you hear what Grandpa said?"

Upon hearing this, Shi Miao looked up at him, her eyes clear and bright. "Yes, I understand."

Gu Qingshan said with a smile, "It's good that you know, then Grandpa can rest assured. When you have time, invite Yan Chen to have a meal together."

Shi Miao's eyes were filled with a hint of helplessness, and his voice was low and gentle: "Grandpa, let's talk about it later."

Gu Qingshan frowned. "What do you mean by 'we'll talk about it later'? I think we should wait until the day I'm discharged from the hospital. I'll call Yan Chen right now."

Shi Miao looked at the energetic old man in front of him and smiled, "Okay, Grandpa, you decide what to do. I have something to do, so I'll be going now."

Gu Qingshan was on his phone calling Ji Yanchen when he waved his hand and said, "Let's go, let's go."

After leaving Gu Qingshan's place, Shi Miao went directly to Lu Hansheng's ward.

Lu Hansheng was sitting on the bed reading when he heard a knock at the door. A hint of excitement flashed in his eyes, and he called out, "Come in!"

Shi Miao pushed open the door and walked in unhurriedly. She pulled out a chair next to the hospital bed, sat down, and said calmly, "Let's begin."

“Okay!” Lu Hansheng nodded and reached for a pile of test papers on the table.

........

"Shi Miao, which university do you want to apply to?" Lu Hansheng's eyes flickered as he looked at the girl who was writing down the steps to solve a problem.

Upon hearing this, Shi Miao slightly raised her eyes and casually replied, "Tsinghua University, I guess."

Lu Hansheng was about to ask more questions when his phone suddenly rang.

"I'll take this call." Shi Miao stood up with her phone in hand, glanced at the caller ID, and saw it was Ji Yanchen.

She pressed the answer button, turned around and walked out. "What's wrong?"

Lu Hansheng seemed to hear a young man's voice on the other end of the phone. His fingers unconsciously rubbed the pen, and his eyes deepened.

His intuition told him that the man on the phone had a complicated relationship with Shi Miao.

Shi Miao quickly finished her call and came in. She picked up her bag and said calmly, "I'm leaving now. Send me the rest on WeChat, and I'll write it down for you when I have time."

Lu Hansheng lowered his eyelids, concealing the darkness in his eyes, and said softly, "Okay."

Hearing the door close, he looked up at the closed door and felt a sense of crisis for the first time.

Lu Hansheng stared blankly at the words the girl had written on the paper, and murmured softly, "Shi Miao".

*

As Shi Miao came out of the hospital, she saw the black Porsche Cayenne parked on the side of the road.

She raised her hand to lower the brim of her hat, put her hands in her pockets, and walked over unhurriedly.

When Fu Jin saw Shi Miao get into the car, he greeted her and then consciously raised the partition in the back.

Ji Yanchen turned his head to look at the girl beside him, his eyes filled with tenderness, "Are you hungry? Do you want to eat something before going back?"

Shi Miao lowered her eyelids, tapping her fingers on her phone screen, which glowed softly. "Hmm, okay."

"What do you want to eat?" The man suddenly leaned in, his breath brushing against the girl's fair neck.

"Hot pot, please." Shi Miao touched his itchy neck, his voice slightly low and hoarse, with a hint of nonchalance.

Ji Yanchen reached out and squeezed the girl's hand, a faint smile playing in his eyes. "Okay."

Shi Miao raised her head slightly, her bright eyes fixed on him, and asked curiously, "What did Grandpa say to you?"

Ji Yanchen's eyes flickered slightly, his tone languid and relaxed: "He didn't say much, just asked me to have dinner together. Does this count as meeting the parents?"

Shi Miao raised her pretty eyebrows slightly and said lazily, "Tsk, we're just friends."

"Then when will you give me a title, hmm?" Ji Yanchen's dark eyes were filled with a burning passion, and his voice was low and charming as he raised the last syllable.

Shi Miao glanced at him lazily, arms crossed, "It's possible now, but there's a three-month internship period."

Ji Yanchen was stunned for a moment, then his thin lips curled up as he pulled the girl into his arms.

His deep eyes held an unyielding tenderness: "Then I'll work hard and strive to become a full-time employee as soon as possible."
