Chapter 31 Murder
Hearing that no one had seen her disheveled state, Gu Yingxue's anger subsided somewhat, but the thought of that man's lecherous appearance still made her feel as if she had swallowed a fly.
"Find a way to send that man some money, make sure to shut him up and prevent him from saying anything he shouldn't."

The next day, Chunyan left the mansion early in the morning to run errands.

The maid looked flustered because of her anxiety.
Gu Yingxue's heart trembled upon hearing this. Chunyan had been by her side for many years and had always been reliable in handling matters. How could she possibly commit murder!
"Quick, come with me to take a look."
Gu Yingxue started to walk out as she spoke, but Chunxiang quickly advised her, "Miss, you mustn't go. How can you go to a place like the government office? Besides, even if you went, what could you do?"
"Are I just supposed to stand by and watch Chunyan be treated as a murderer?"
Although Gu Yingxue often scolded and beat the two of them, she couldn't bear to watch Chunyan die because of their childhood bond.
Chunxiang naturally couldn't bear to see Chunyan treated as a murderer, but she understood even more clearly that she was just a maid, and what she needed to do was persuade Gu Yingxue.
"Miss, why don't you ask the master for help? Wouldn't it be better to have him do it instead of you doing it yourself?"
Upon hearing Chunxiang's words, Gu Yingxue immediately understood. She had been so confused. Even if she went to the yamen herself, no one would give her face, but it would be different if her father went.
As a marquis and the Minister of Personnel, his father was someone that all officials who wanted to be promoted had to curry favor with.
Having figured this out, Gu Yingxue took her maid and went to the front yard.
In the study, Gu Shuyan was grinding ink, while Gu Jin was writing something on the cutting board.
"Daddy's handwriting is so beautiful."
Gu Shuyan exclaimed sincerely.
Upon hearing this, Gu Jin finished writing the last stroke of his brush before looking up at his daughter. "Speaking of which, your father hasn't found you a tutor yet! I wonder what kind of tutor your precious daughter would like?"

"Father, aren't my brothers coming back soon? No tutor outside can be as attentive as my brothers. Why don't we let my brothers teach me?"
