Shui Wuhen walked in and touched Ji Xiaoxiao's face in disbelief. The touch was smooth and warm, as if she were alive. It was real, but Shui Wuhen was afraid of disturbing others, so he immediately withdrew his hand.
"Xiao Bai, is it really you?" Shui Wuhen asked, tears welling up in her eyes.
Ji Xiaoxiao's eyes never left the heavy clouds overhead, her mind solely focused on one thing. Shui Wuhen's eager anticipation was unconsciously ignored by Ji Xiaoxiao.
"We must leave this place immediately. I think the tribulation lightning that follows is no ordinary thing. With our current strength, if we try to withstand it, we're likely to meet with bad luck." Ji Xiaoxiao took Shui Wuhen's hand, took a big step, and turned to leave.
Shui Wuhen's feet seemed to have grown roots, digging deep into the earth. Ji Xiaoxiao tried everything she could, but Shui Wuhen remained unmoved, looking at Ji Xiaoxiao with teary eyes.
"Xiao Bai, is that you?" After waiting for a while, Ji Xiaoxiao did not answer, so Shui Wuhen shouted loudly, "Tell me, are you Xiao Bai? Or are you just another trick by the Heavenly Dao to deceive people?"
Upon reflection, he suddenly understood. Shui Wuhen looked terrified and hesitant, hurriedly breaking free from Ji Xiaoxiao's restraints and scrambling away from the "deception" of the Heavenly Dao.
"Heavenly Dao, you're becoming more and more despicable. You seem quite adept at using such vile, shameless, and filthy methods!" Shui Wuhen's sarcasm hurt both himself and others.
Shui Wuhen glared at Ji Xiaoxiao, then shot off like an arrow, heading straight for her. Ji Xiaoxiao was momentarily stunned, but with her life at stake, this was a matter of utmost importance, and she couldn't afford to be even slightly careless.
Ji Xiaoxiao knew that Shui Wuhen was currently in a precarious situation, so she adopted a defensive strategy, avoiding both harming Shui Wuhen and sacrificing herself. This approach had its pros and cons, and Ji Xiaoxiao would likely have to expend considerable effort to safely take Shui Wuhen away.
Things can happen unexpectedly, if… A slight smile played on Ji Xiaoxin's lips; she had a plan.
"Bang." Reaching out, Ji Xiaoxiao caught Shui Wuhen's fist.
One person launched a full-force attack, while the other defended carelessly. In the back-and-forth exchanges, both of them consumed a considerable amount of their spiritual energy.
"At this rate, my spiritual power will be completely depleted before Heaven can even intervene. I should just knock Shui Wuhen unconscious and carry him away!" Ji Xiaoxiao thought to herself.
With spiritual energy flowing into her feet, Ji Xiaoxiao's speed more than doubled. A blur of motion, and Ji Xiaoxiao appeared behind Shui Wuhen, delivering a swift chop to the back of his neck. Shui Wuhen turned around in surprise, opened his mouth, and then fainted.
Ji Xiaoxiao turned and hugged Shui Wuhen, then quickly headed towards the Monster Forest.
After a day and a night, the result of running at full speed was being drenched in sweat and utterly exhausted.
"Xiaoqing, Xiaoqing, come out quickly, come out and help me."
Ji Xiaoxiao held Shui Wuhen in her arms, knelt on one knee on the green grass, and called out hoarsely to her friend Xiaoqing.
Xiaoqing came running at the sound, and when she saw Ji Xiaoxiao, the smile on her face froze instantly. Fear and panic surged into her heart, like large pearls filling her clear, glassy eyes.
"Xiaoqing, don't just stand there, come and lend a hand, I'm about to be crushed to death by him." Ji Xiaoxiao forced a smile, pretending to be relaxed, as if she and Xiaoqing were old friends.
"Little White." Xiao Qing scolded Ji Xiaoxiao playfully, finally resigned to doing hard labor. After turning over the person in Ji Xiaoxiao's arms, Xiao Qing was so frightened that she ran far away.
"Hmm." The fall was quite hard; Shui Wuhen frowned and unconsciously groaned in pain.
Xiao Qing's ears twitched, and she leaped far away, hiding behind a large tree. Peeking out, she cautiously watched the murderous maniac, Shui Wuhen. After a while, while Shui Wuhen slept, Xiao Qing breathed a sigh of relief, constantly encouraging herself, and finally stepped forward again.
"Xiaobai, where did you bring this person back? No, that's not the point. How could you be so reckless as to bring him back again? Have you forgotten how he treated you back then?" Xiaoqing exclaimed in alarm, dragging Shui Wuhen by the foot, preparing to head towards the doomsday volcano in the Monster Forest. "I have to kill him, so he won't kill us one day."
"Xiao Qing." A melodious voice, a lament, a sorrowful tone.
Helpless, Ji Xiaoxiao spent a lot of time and effort to tell Xiaoqing about her relationship with Shui Wuhen, half-truthfully and half-jokingly. Only then did Xiaoqing blush and let go of her hand.
Xiaoqing, being naive, believed it to be true, and Shui Wuhen thus settled down in the Monster Forest. At first, Shui Wuhen was very uncomfortable, but when Ji Xiaoxiao introduced herself, Shui Wuhen awkwardly settled in.
"Xiao Bai, can we live together?" Shui Wuhen asked, blushing.
Ji Xiaoxiao looked at the small house, which had three rooms, and nodded, "Okay."
That evening, Ji Xiaoxiao returned to her room, where a caterpillar was lying on her bed.
"Xiaobai, I've been waiting for you for so long." A head peeked out from under the blanket.
Ji Xiaoxiao stood at the door, unsure whether to go in or back, caught in a dilemma, her head spinning.
A life filled with noise and commotion, yet happy and peaceful, is always charming but fleeting.
Ten years later, in the Warcraft Forest, dark clouds loomed over the city, and thunder rumbled.
The wrath of Heaven directly killed countless living beings.
"Little White, it seems the Heavenly Dao has found me." Shui Wuhen said calmly.
Death is inevitable for everyone; some deaths are heavier than Mount Tai, while others are lighter than a feather.
If even ants manage to survive and eke out a living, how much more so should humans, the most intelligent of all beings?
If not for dire circumstances, Shui Wuhen would have preferred to continue his peaceful, secluded life with Ji Xiaoxiao. However, fate was unkind, and they were relentlessly pursued.
Happiness and joy are nothing but dreams, illusions, and fleeting moments.
"I'll go with you," Ji Xiaoxiao stepped forward and grabbed Shui Wuhen's cold hand.
