Work is frustrating; credit is stolen. At home, there's a beautiful wife, beautiful in body but not in spirit.
Nan Zhu hunched over, her head bowed, creating her own domain, where no one could enter within three feet.
The air pressure in the room suddenly dropped, and an invisible cold wind howled through, the chill penetrating and wreaking havoc in the body.
Lu Zhu swallowed hard, thinking of how obedient Nan Zhu had always been, and mustered her courage to say loudly, "You just got back and haven't cooked anything yet, so where's dinner?"
"Hehehe..." Nan Zhu chuckled softly.
It was very strange; Nan Zhu wasn't the usual Nan Zhu. It was as if she had been possessed by a ghost.
“You…” Lu Zhu subconsciously stepped back.
Nan Zhu took a step forward, suddenly raised her head, and a red light flashed in her eyes.
"Am I your husband?" Nan Zhu suddenly asked.
"Yes," Lü Zhu replied tremblingly.
No matter how carefree Lü Zhu was, she couldn't ignore Nan Zhu's intimidating and terrifying aura.
"Then are you my wife?" Nan Zhu asked again.
"Yes." They've already got their marriage certificate, how could they not be husband and wife?
"Isn't it only natural for a wife to prepare dinner while her husband goes to work? Why do you expect me to do everything? I'm out there working hard, and when I come home, all I want is a bowl of hot soup and a hot meal. Can't you even provide that?" Nan Zhu questioned, each word piercing to the heart.
Lu Zhu opened her mouth wide, and tears instantly welled up in her eyes.
She felt wronged and heartbroken.
When lovers are deeply in love under the moonlit flowers, Nan Zhu takes care of everything for them, from food and clothing to shelter and transportation.
Married, bored, the new love becomes the old love, the promises made are nothing but a fart.
"You said you would cook for me for the rest of your life, and all I had to do was stay beautiful. It's only been a year, and you've already gone back on your word."
The man in front of me had faint dark circles under his eyes, but they couldn't hide his extraordinary appearance.
"He's still so wonderful," Lü Ying thought to herself.
She felt uneasy and rubbed her hands together.
Her skin was rough, her hands were calloused, she had grown old, and she had become ugly.
Thinking of this, Lü Zhu silently shed tears.
Nan Zhu truly loved Lü Zhu, and Lü Zhu silently shed tears, causing his heart to ache as if pierced by needles.
"I..." Nan Zhu wanted to back down.
Men can take a loss without any real consequences.
"What do you mean, 'I'? Nan Zhu, do you think you can look down on me and boss me around just because you're handsome? Let me tell you, no way." Either die in silence or erupt in silence—Lu Zhu perfectly embodied the essence of this saying.
Taking advantage of Nan Zhu's momentary lapse in attention, Lü Zhu leaped and pounced on him. Her neatly trimmed nails sizzled, leaving several claw marks on Nan Zhu's face.
"Ah!" Nan Zhu shouted, quickly spun around, and threw Lü Zhu away.
Nan Zhu reached out and touched the scar on her face. The sensations of heat, burning, and pain surged through her cerebral cortex, causing her to gasp sharply.
"Are you crazy?" Nan Zhu roared at Lü Zhu, who was smiling strangely.
"Crazy? I'm crazy!" Lu Zhu staggered to her feet, looked at the claw marks on Nan Zhu's face, and said happily, "Zhu Zi, you've become ugly too, even uglier than me. If you don't want me to leave you, hurry up and cook some rice and stir-fry some dishes." Lu Zhu snorted arrogantly.
Nan Zhu remained motionless, standing still to observe.
"How did my beloved Zhuzhu become like this?" Nan Zhu was overwhelmed with mixed feelings, as if someone had deliberately spilled a bottle of vinegar, making her feel very sad.
"Go on," Lü Zhu said, pulling Nan Zhu into the kitchen.
Before I knew it, the situation had completely changed.
Nan Zhu sighed resignedly and picked up a cleaver to chop and slice. It was too late to cook rice. Half an hour later, steaming hot noodles were ready.
"Zhuzhu, the noodles are ready. Come and eat them while they're hot," Nanzhu called out as she brought out the noodles.
Lu Zhu responded and came over. She sat down in a chair with a leisurely expression, picked up her chopsticks, and began to eat heartily.
After finishing a bowl of noodles, Lü Zhu said with satisfaction, "Zhu Zi, clean up the dishes. Seeing all this oily mess makes me feel disgusted."
Disgusting! Can't you clean this up yourself?!
Nan Zhu thought about it more and more and more, but her body moved on its own. By the time she finished washing the dishes, Lü Zhu was already fast asleep in bed.
"Zhuzhu, wake up?" Nanzhu wanted to talk to Lü Zhu about something, feeling that letting it go now would have a significant impact on their future happiness.
Lu Zhu ignored Nan Zhu completely, turned over, and faced away from Nan Zhu.
Nan Zhu was helpless. Disturbing someone's peaceful sleep was impolite. She would deal with it when they woke up tomorrow.
Time flew by, and before we knew it, it was five in the morning.
Frogs croaked and insects chirped; the night was dark and windless; stars were faintly visible in the sky.
On a dark and windy night, I dress up as a ghost to scare people.
Ji Xiaoxiao gently moved open the door to Nan Zhu's house and strode inside.
Her hair was disheveled, and she was dressed in a white dress. She walked lightly and silently, as if defying gravity and floating in the air.
With a flick of her finger, Ji Xiaoxiao sent an invisible pellet that woke Nan Zhu and Lü Zhu.
"Ouch, Nanzhu, stop it, I'm so sleepy," Lu Zhu muttered.
"Who messed with you?" Nan Zhu shifted her body, completely unwilling to touch Lü Zhu.
"If it wasn't you, then who was it? There are only the two of us in this house." People who don't get enough sleep have exceptionally bad tempers. "Why are you hitting me in the middle of the night instead of sleeping? You're not still holding a grudge about that little thing I did to you, are you? Nan Zhu, are you even a man?"
Without asking any questions, Lü Zhu blamed Nan Zhu for being beaten.
The worst thing for a sleeper is to be disturbed. It was both painful and noisy, so Nan Zhu opened her eyes.
The anger that had been building up all day finally erupted. Nan Zhu reached out and pulled Lü Zhu in front of her, then slapped her across the face.
