The man in white slapped Lin Mu's hand away. "Even if I can perform surgery and remove all the organs you need, what way do you have to get your son out of the hospital? Human organs aren't like chicken or pig livers, which you can eat even if they're not fresh. You can only blame yourself for making a bad move, risking your life to get organ donors, but forgetting to send your own son here."
Lin Mu acted impulsively, which can be considered both a success and a failure.
"I'll go and bring Binbin out right now."
Lin Mu believed everything he heard.
“Lin Mu, your son should be under police control right now. If you go back, you'll be walking into a trap. I can't control what you do, but I won't allow you to drag me into this.”
The man in white held a scalpel, the blade pressed against Lin Mu's carotid artery. With a gentle stab, blood would spurt out with a "whoosh."
Lin Mu dared not move and could only say, "Dr. Bai, put down the scalpel. I'm not going back. I'll listen to whatever you say."
A moment of patience brings calm; Lin Mu knows when to yield and when to yield.
Lin Mu was indeed his client. Dr. Bai put away his scalpel and sat down to watch the rain. Outside, a light drizzle fell, blurring the view as if veiled by a thin gauze. The muddy path was strewn with puddles, and the last days of winter still carried a biting chill.
Dr. Bai exhaled a puff of white breath and said, "There are blankets inside. Go get one and cover him with it. You guys beat him so badly he's barely alive. If he doesn't keep warm in this weather, he definitely won't live to see tomorrow."
The winter drizzle was the coldest time of the day. Xia Xiu shivered, his mind already hazy, and instinctively huddled together with the trembling Xiao Bao.
Xia Xiu was his son Binbin's lifeline, and Lin Mu would never let anything happen to Xia Xiu. He went into the room that Dr. Bai had indicated, took two blankets from a small bed, one for Xia Xiu and one for Xiao Bao.
"What a good father!" Dr. Bai's tone was laced with unspeakable sarcasm.
Lin Mu shut his mouth, wrapped Xiao Bao up, and sat back down.
Time passed slowly, and in the blink of an eye, the two sides were deadlocked for three days.
Over the past three days, Xia Xiu's body temperature has been fluctuating wildly, and the bruises on his broken hands and feet have been difficult to heal and have become swollen. Complications have sprung up like mushrooms after rain, gradually eroding the health that Xia Xiu had worked so hard to regain.
"How could you beat him up like this, making me have to go through all the trouble of treating him?"
Dr. Bai grumbled and kept criticizing Lin Mu for not knowing how to do things.
Lin Mu endured it all, desperately missing his Binbin. He worried that Binbin might accidentally die young during the three days he was gone.
No, no, I have to go see Binbin!
One night, Lin Mu secretly slipped out while Dr. Bai was fast asleep.
Lin Mu entered X City unnoticed and immediately saw a flood of news reports about a boy named Lin Bin who was in critical condition and urgently needed his parents or relatives to come to the hospital to handle all matters.
For three days, in order to cut off any possibility of being tracked, Lin Mu and his group hid in the deserted countryside. There was no television, their cell phones were turned off, and they were unaware of what was happening outside.
"Is Binbin going to die?"
Lin Mu didn't have time to think it through and ran wildly into XX Hospital.
Inside a van outside the hospital.
"Report, suspect Lin Mu has appeared."
"Know."
Then, Lin Mu was successfully captured.
"Let me go, let me go, I need to see my son."
Lin Mu struggled and roared, screaming like a mad dog.
Ji Xiaoxiao walked over slowly and slapped Lin Mu across the face.
"If Lin Bin is your son, then Xiao Bao isn't your son. Lin Mu, you're worse than a pig or a dog."
Ji Xiaoxiao understood that Lin Mu harbored malicious intentions towards Xia Xiu; people have different degrees of closeness. Lin Bin was his son, and if his brother-in-law was gone, he could simply find another wife. But Xiao Bao was his own son. By holding Xiao Bao hostage and threatening Xia Xiu, was Lin Mu even human?
"Lin Mu, you'd better tell me where Xiao Xiu and Xiao Bao are right now. If you piss me off, I might even harm the patient. You're guilty of kidnapping, and you'll be in jail for at least ten years. Without you around, Lin Bin's fate is easy to imagine. I don't need to tell you what your relatives are like; you know very well. If something happens to you, they definitely won't take care of a burden like that."
No matter how stubborn Lin Mu was, he still obediently gave in when Lin Bin was involved.
The police and Ji Xiaoxiao immediately set off, and after killing a man who resisted, Xia Xiu and Xiao Bao were successfully rescued.
"Mom." The moment Xiao Bao saw Ji Xiaoxiao, he burst into tears.
Ji Xiaoxiao hugged Xiaobao; he had only suffered minor injuries and was out of danger. Poor Xia Xiu, however, even if he survived, the doctors determined he would be bedridden for the rest of his life.
Ji Xiaoxiao was furious. She took out the information she had collected and successfully divorced Lin Mu while he was on trial, taking away 80% of his property.
Extramarital affair, commercial fraud, child abduction, serious injury to a minor… Lin Mu was convicted of multiple crimes and sentenced to thirty years in prison. What pained Lin Mu even more was that Lin Bin died the day after he entered prison.
The day of the visit.
Ji Xiaoxiao said gloatingly, "Lin Bin is dead."
After saying that, Ji Xiaoxiao left.
