A small dining table sat across the dining room, laden with plates of home-style dishes. (lwxs520)
The security guard sat in the head seat, while Ji Xiaoxiao sat to his right below him.
"I... I'm used to it. I didn't mean to ignore you."
He's always been alone. They just met today and got married. The security guard is a little disoriented and hasn't adjusted yet.
Ji Xiaoxiao noticed the security guard's unease, so she stood up, walked over to him, and sat directly on his lap.
"You're not doing this right!"
“What’s wrong with that? We’re husband and wife. If we get any closer, no one can gossip. We’re a legal and legitimate married couple.”
The security guard turned his head away, not daring to look closely at Ji Xiaoxiao. He carefully twitched his nose, greedily and infatuatedly inhaling Ji Xiaoxiao's scent.
It smells sweet and pleasant.
The security guard's mind wandered, and his face grew increasingly serious.
Ji Xiaoxiao wrapped her arms around the security guard's neck, nuzzled his cheek affectionately, and whispered, "Husband."
That shout sent a tingling, numbing sensation through the security guard.
He coughed and said, "Say it again."
Ji Xiaoxiao paused for a moment, then smiled and said, "Husband."
The security guard nodded solemnly and said seriously, "That's what we'll call you from now on."
Ji Xiaoxiao readily agreed.
The two were whispering sweet nothings to each other, and time flew by; it was almost eight o'clock in the evening.
The security guard nudged Ji Xiaoxiao, "They'll be here soon, I'm going to heat up the food."
"Okay." Ji Xiaoxiao got up from the firm thighs.
Hot dishes aren't cooked, so they're ready very quickly.
Just as I finished heating up the last dish, the doorbell rang.
"They're here, I'll go open the door."
The security guard walked ahead, with Ji Xiaoxiao following closely behind.
Upon opening the door, five distinguished-looking men and women greeted us. Three handsome men carried gifts wrapped in red packaging bags, while two beautiful women smiled and held two wooden boxes in their arms.
"Brother Qian," the five said in unison.
"Yes, you've arrived. Please come in."
The security guard stepped back a few paces to make way for the five of them.
In the living room, the security guard pointed at Ji Xiaoxiao, "Tang Yu, my wife." He raised his eyebrows, his tone light and cheerful, unable to hide his smugness.
Three men, carrying gifts, greeted Ji Xiaoxiao, saying, "Hello, sister-in-law."
Ji Xiaoxiao accepted the gifts and said, "Hello."
"Sister-in-law, I am Wen Qianqian, Xing Yang's wife." Wen Qianqian was a gentle and kind woman. She wasn't particularly beautiful, but she had an elegant demeanor and was unsurprisingly beautiful.
The Xing Yang she mentioned was the tallest of the three men. This man was all legs from the neck down, with long, slender legs that frequently drew Ji Xiaoxiao's sidelong glances.
"Hello, sister-in-law." Xing Yang greeted her with a hearty smile.
Ji Xiaoxiao nodded in acknowledgment.
"Sister-in-law, my name is Su Mu, and that bastard is my husband."
Su Mu was cheerful, generous, and poised. Her tall, slender figure of 1.78 meters made her stand out even among a group of men. The "bastard" she referred to was a man with a frivolous appearance and behavior. The security guard had introduced him before; his name seemed to be Ye Xie.
Night Evil?
That's pretty weird!
Ji Xiaoxiao said, "Hello."
They had just met and were completely unfamiliar with each other, so no one minded Ji Xiaoxiao's aloofness.
After chatting for a while, the group got down to business.
"The food is getting cold, take your seats and eat."
At the security guard's command, no one dared to disobey.
Wen Qianqian and Su Mu opened the wooden box, which contained two bottles of fine red wine. Ye Xie uncorked the bottles and personally poured two glasses for Ji Xiaoxiao and the security guard, not forgetting the two beauties as well.
"Wait, what about me and Ah Xun?" Xing Yang said, dissatisfied.
Ye Xie slammed down the bottle. "Don't you guys have hands? Pour it yourselves. How old are you, still acting like spoiled brats?"
“You’re being too stingy,” Xing Yang said.
"That's right."
"I won't fall, so what?"
Xing Yang and Lin Xun glared fiercely at Ye Xie, who swirled his wine glass and glanced at Ji Xiaoxiao.
"Sister-in-law, I..." He accidentally got carried away, and his sister-in-law was still there.
Ye Xie looked at Ji Xiaoxiao, finding the finest red wine tasteless.
"Sister-in-law, we were just joking."
Ji Xiaoxiao stared blankly for a moment, then smiled gently.
That smile dispelled all barriers.
Raise a glass and celebrate.
"Happy wedding!" the five said in unison.
At 11 p.m., the security guard personally escorted the five people downstairs.
Ye Xie hesitated several times before finally speaking, and the security guard said impatiently, "Just say what you have to say."
"Brother, she knows." Ye Xie felt deeply apologetic.
"Why?" The security guard's voice was as cold as ice, each word chilling to the bone.
Ye Xie said tremblingly, "I don't know. She came to me when I was about to leave, saying she wanted to come and see you with all of us, but I refused."
The security guard grunted in agreement, glanced around at the five people, and asked, "Who said that?"
The five looked at each other, and Lin Xun, who had been silent all along, stepped forward. "Brother, it was me who said it."
Ye Xie and the others looked horrified and incredulous.
"Ah Xun, are you crazy?" Xing Yang shouted. They knew perfectly well who their brother hated most. Back then, their brother left with resentment, hiding his identity to sever ties with the past. Lin Xun knew it was impossible, yet he still did it—was he trying to ruin the bond between them?
Wen Qianqian pouted and bluntly stated the truth, "Ah Xun, it's your own business if you like her, but you can't sacrifice your brother to please yourself."
