On their way back, Shen Jie and Tang Wei had a heated discussion.
"Do you think we might be able to find jobs in the industrial park like the 'Ten Thousand Yuan Household'?!"
Shen Jie didn't answer this time, seemingly deep in thought. "The cameras are only in the courtyard area; it seems there aren't any in other areas, and they don't restrict our freedom within the park. That's certainly possible. If we rely solely on the production team's budget, it definitely won't be enough as the number of people increases."
After receiving approval, Tang Wei felt full of energy and pulled Shen Jie in a 180-degree turn, "Let's go! Let's go find jobs! Maybe they'll even provide meals, and then we won't have to cook for so many people."
Shen Jie was truly surprised by Tang Wei's strong will to act; she still had energy after an entire afternoon! She almost made Shen Jie stumble and fall.
"Wait a minute, it's so late already. Tomorrow, I'll go with you tomorrow."
Shen Jie was dragged by Tang Wei almost to the alley entrance before she finally persuaded Tang Wei.
After finishing their meal and washing their dishes, the two squatted in the yard, lost in thought. Usually, they would be on their phones at this time, but since their phones had been taken away, they could only stare at each other in the yard. As for why there were no chairs, it was obviously to save money.
Tang Wei, who had been in a daze, suddenly laughed. Shen Jie heard this and turned her head. Sure enough, Tang Wei's face was full of "I have great news."
I don't know how this girl has survived this long. Shen Jie leaned close to her ear and whispered, "Bang!"
Tang Wei was just lost in a beautiful fantasy when she was startled by Shen Jie. She was so angry that she snapped out of her daze and tried to pinch Shen Jie's waist.
Shen Jie begged for mercy repeatedly, "Good sister, please spare me... You're my own sister, isn't that enough?"
Tang Wei rolled her eyes at Chen Jie and withdrew her hand. "All you do is provoke me every day!"
Tang Wei's personality is too easy to figure out. Shen Jie has already figured it out in just two days. Although she speaks loudly, her face already shows that she has put the matter behind her.
Shen Jie leaned close to Tang Wei's ear and said, "Isn't it because you're too obvious?" After she finished speaking, her gaze swept over the other people in the yard.
After dinner, most people in the courtyard didn't want to stay in their cramped rooms, so there were many people strolling around the courtyard at this time.
Tang Wei touched her face. "Is it that obvious?"
Shen Jie chuckled, mimicking Tang Wei's expression from earlier, only more exaggerated, which made Tang Wei unable to resist giving Shen Jie's waist a light pinch.
Dong Jun couldn't hold back any longer. These people neither asked nor said anything. "Who among you will draw lots tomorrow?"
Today, Han Dong, who lives in the main house next door, drew seven people in the lottery, and it caused quite a commotion. There was clearly enough room, but it was just Han Dong who drew the lottery. Dong Jun watched with a sense of "the rabbit is killed after the hunt," thinking that he had only drawn three people today. If he were to draw seven people like Han Dong, well, it's hard to say what would happen.
Dong Jun just wanted to get rid of this hot potato as soon as possible, anyone would do, he just didn't want to smoke it anymore.
Dong Jun felt a surge of anger. These people fell silent as soon as the topic of drawing lots came up. Just a moment ago they were all chatting and laughing, but now they were like quails! It was infuriating!
"Anyone who wants to smoke can go ahead, I'm not smoking tomorrow!"
Dong Jun went inside after saying that, and everyone else panicked. Tang Wei was also a little flustered and was about to get up and go in to persuade Dong Jun.
Shen Jie wasn't in a hurry. It didn't matter who drew the cards. Among this group of contestants, she had never seen anyone with particularly good luck. They were all incredibly unlucky. Or there was a comparison to be made about their luck. In short, it was a matter of whether they were lucky today or unlucky tomorrow. They couldn't escape it.
As for the secret, she doesn't have any. If she were really lucky, she would have won the lottery long ago. Why would she come to the show to earn prize money?
However, Shen Jie couldn't stand being a loner. While the others were trying to persuade Dong Jun, she stood by and played the straight man, saying, "Don't worry, we don't blame you. You've drawn three people in two days in a row, that's pretty lucky. You still have to go and draw."
"Just an ordinary repeater," Shen Jie chimed in, "Yes, we won't blame you."
Dong Jun was a little hesitant. He thought he might actually be lucky, and others might have worse luck than him. What if a bunch of people were drawn? He still wanted to win the prize money. But despite saying that, he couldn't help but ask, "Really? What if I draw seven people tomorrow?"
Sure enough, as soon as these words were spoken, Dong Jun saw that no one else said a word, and his wavering heart immediately sank.
Shen Jie, whose mind was blank, continued to agree, "I won't blame you."
Only after she agreed did she realize that no one else had spoken, and suddenly everyone's eyes were on her.
Tang Wei even secretly tugged at her clothes behind her back. How could this person have such a sharp tongue! She dared to say anything!
Shen Jie didn't play dumb. "We really won't blame you. This is a team competition. Everyone let you draw lots, so they must have been prepared to share the responsibility, right, everyone?"
This set of fancy frames immediately put everyone else on their toes, and everyone nodded slightly. Seeing that the others' attitudes didn't seem to have moved Dong Jun, Tang Wei quickly said loudly, "Don't worry, go ahead and draw. There's still space in this room."
Dong Jun's expression softened a bit at this point. Whether these people were willing or not was no longer important; they had already nodded in agreement.
In the main room on the other side, Han Dong sighed silently, feeling completely relieved. As expected, he no longer had the right to draw lots.
It would be so much better if there were no lottery! Did these people really think he wanted to draw lots?! He watched as he was voted out, and no one else recommended anyone else. When others did recommend someone, they all made various excuses.
Han Dong watched this good show, his sarcasm almost showing on his face. The back-and-forth pushing and shoving was simply because he was afraid of being drawn into the same seven people as him today.
The people in the room hesitated, all looking embarrassed, glancing at Han Dong out of the corner of their eyes as he stood there seemingly unaffected. When one person's gaze towards Han Dong was caught by another, everyone present suddenly shared a tacit understanding.
The seven newcomers looked around, huddled together, and remained silent, not mentioning the lottery draw tomorrow. Meanwhile, the original seven had already split into several groups. Regardless of the number of groups, Han Dong was certain that he had been separated.
However, he didn't feel isolated. If anyone was being isolated, it was him isolating everyone! None of these people had any sense of responsibility; they were just there to make money from the show, not to make friends. There was no need to get upset over them.
"How about we let Brother Han do it? After all, he has experience..."
Shi Lei, who had finally mustered the courage to voice the unspoken thoughts in everyone's hearts, received a cold snort from Han Dong.
The others tried to smooth things over, saying, "Brother Han, don't refuse, it has to be you. You're the most mature and steady one among us..."
Han Dong said, "I don't have the ability, you should find someone else," and left the courtyard. He wasn't going to be the first to stick his neck out; he'd already been beaten enough.
