Chapter 154 Teasing Big Sister

What... what is this?

Chen Shan stared at the hairy fruit that had changed so drastically, still a little confused, when the young girl handed it to him with a smile and said, "Sir, why don't you try it first?"

Chen Shan was reluctant; what was the point of him, an old man, eating fruit?

Perhaps it was the little girl's sweet smile, or for some other reason, but he inexplicably accepted the fruit.

However, he didn't eat it right away. He observed it for a while, then glanced at the little girl in front of him. Seeing that she still had a sweet smile on her face, he started to eat it.

To be honest, this fruit is sweet with a hint of sourness. He, an old man, doesn't like it, but the children might.

In the blink of an eye, he had finished eating a small, hairy fruit, and then he was embarrassed.

Looking at the expectant little girl, Chen Shan didn't know what to say to her.

Because their purchase quota for this year doesn't include hairy fruit, even if the fruit tastes good and some people might like it, they can't buy it.

He remained silent, as did the young girl opposite him. So Chen Shanqing coughed and said, "Young lady, this fruit tastes good, but we cannot accept it."

Well, this answer was exactly what Liu Shile expected. She knew that some things might not be eligible for acquisition until their benefits were discovered.

Not many people know how good kiwifruit is, so it's normal that it's not included in the standards, but this has put her in trouble.

She appropriately showed a look of disappointment, and Chen Shan felt a little sorry for her. After thinking for a moment, he gritted his teeth and said, "I personally want to buy some from you to take back to my children at home, is that alright?"

This was done to consider the little girl's feelings, so that she wouldn't have to come with hope only to leave disappointed.

Liu Shile blinked, then shook her head and said generously, "I didn't bring much with me, so I'll give these to you. Can you tell me what the purchasing station buys?"

She felt that she might have fallen into some kind of misconception before. If she wanted to make money, it would be easier to just ask people what they wanted to buy and then match it up with the relevant information.

Upon hearing this, Chen Shan immediately waved his hand, "If I don't accept the money, I can't take it. As for what our purchasing station is going to buy, let me tell you in detail."

Since no one was coming over right now, Chen Shan was happy to have someone listen to his stories. So he took out two booklets, one about mountain produce and agricultural products, and the other about medicinal herbs.

He took the booklet and explained to Liu Shile what was common, what was unusual, what was rare, what was urgently needed, and so on.

He spoke very carefully and earnestly, and Liu Shile found it quite interesting. Taking advantage of the pleasant conversation, she even asked to see the two booklets.

Chen Shan was pleased to see her eagerness to learn, and besides, this booklet wasn't something that couldn't be shown to others, so he handed it to her without hesitation.

Liu Shile flipped through the pages quickly, and since the booklets weren't thick, she memorized the contents of both booklets in no time.

She thanked Grandpa Chen, quickly put down the remaining kiwis in her cloth bag, and ran away before Grandpa Chen could react.

She ran off and disappeared from sight before Grandpa Chen realized what was happening. He heard the words "These fruits won't last more than a few days" carried on the wind. Looking at the dozen or so fuzzy fruits in front of him, he was stunned and didn't know how to react. He had just said that about other people's things.

He wanted to chase after her and return the fruit, but he had no idea where the little girl had gone.

He could only shake his head, memorize the girl's appearance, and think that he would definitely give her money next time he saw her. He couldn't possibly take someone's things for free!

After leaving the purchasing station, Liu Shile didn't go home. She wandered around the market but couldn't find her walking stick anywhere.

Seeing that it was almost time, she returned home somewhat disappointed. As soon as she entered the yard, she saw her older sister sitting there washing clothes.

"Lele, you're back so early?" Seeing her younger sister return, Liu Shixi really wanted to ask her if she had inquired about exchanging the hairy fruit for money, but considering that it wasn't convenient to talk at home, she refrained from asking.

Liu Shile sighed inwardly. That's just how her older sister is; she can never stay still. Oh well, as long as she's happy.

So she nodded without changing her expression, "Yes, I'm back."

After she finished speaking, she glanced around and noticed that everyone was far away from them. Then she leaned closer to her eldest sister and said mysteriously, "Big sister, I have good news and bad news. Which do you want to hear?"

"Bad news, please." There's been too much bad news at home lately, and Liu Shixi is feeling helpless, so she'll save the good news for last, hoping it will dispel the gloom.

Liu Shile was speechless. Her older sister was being too pessimistic. But she still said, "The bad news is that Xi won't buy our wild fruits."

At this point, she shrugged innocently, but a faint smile remained on her face, as if she wasn't worried about it at all.

The fact that the wild fruits couldn't be sold was actually within Liu Shixi's expectations, since only those who have tasted them know what they taste like.

However, she immediately realized that her sister had gone to the purchasing station, not to take the goods to the market.

"Lele, why don't we take it to the market and try it while it's still early?" Of course, she didn't ask such a question at this time, but looked at her younger sister and suggested.

This woman seems to be feeling a sense of crisis, so she doesn't even want to hear any more good news from her before she starts to worry.

Liu Shixi's concerns were not unfounded. The hairy fruit was ready to eat, and it would spoil in a few more days, at which point it would be worthless, which would be a huge loss.

If her foot hadn't been injured, she would have taken it to the market herself. How would she know if it would sell if she didn't try?

"Why are you in such a hurry, big sister? You haven't heard my good news yet." Liu Shile didn't respond. Setting up a stall was out of the question. Selling in packages was simple and convenient, much better.

Liu Shixi waved her hand; she was too anxious to hear any good news right now.

The man said, "Lele, listen to me, these fritters won't last more than a few days at home. Why don't you take them out and try them out? If someone buys them, you can sell them. It's better than letting them all go to waste!"

Seeing her older sister so anxious, Liu Shile found it somewhat amusing and shrugged, "Okay, I was originally going to tell you that someone has pre-ordered some shiitake mushrooms."

Since my older sister wants me to take them to the market and sell them if I can get some money, I might as well wait and try to get a good price for them.

After she finished speaking, she pretended to walk into the house, but she didn't take a single step for a long time.

Liu Shixi was nodding subconsciously when she heard the last part and realized something was wrong. She grabbed her sister who was about to leave and asked incredulously, "Lele, what did you just say?"

Why does it sound like her sister is planning to sell the fritters at a high price?
