Chapter 20 Man proposes, God disposes

In December of Konoha Year 55, only about two months after Hyuga Kaze caused trouble, it was his turn to be the one to get messed up.

Today, under the leadership of the minor Chunin Kobayashi Yoshiyasu, Hinata Kaze teamed up with the cannon fodder Genin Inoue Nobuyuki and Tanakagawa to leave Konoha Village.

Hinata Kaze appears calm and collected on the surface, but is actually full of complaints.

Originally, he planned to stay in the Hyuga clan's territory and cultivate in seclusion, letting his Blood Shadow clone handle all the affairs while he secretly manipulated the situation, drinking tea, chasing girls, until he became invincible before emerging from seclusion.

But things rarely go as planned. He hadn't expected that Konoha wouldn't tolerate idlers. After he revealed his strength as a genin, he was arranged to be sacrificed by the main clan.

He hadn't even turned 11 yet when he was thrown out to participate in a mission. Although this might be related to his frequent public pronouncements that he wanted to participate in missions early to improve himself through practical training and better serve the main family, Hyuga Kaze was still furious. He hadn't thought about it being so early when he was performing!

In reality, after the Nine-Tails' attack and several years of small-scale border skirmishes, Konoha was indeed in a state of talent shortage. Many talents in sensory perception and detection had been killed or wounded in the war, leaving a significant gap in their skills.

The Hyuga clan suffered numerous casualties in the war, and after the Hyuga Hizashi incident, the Hyuga clan began to shrink its power. Konoha urgently needed sensory-type talents, and the Hokage had reminded the Hyuga clan several times.

Hyuga Kaze has shown enough genius to be comparable to an elite genin. He has excellent observation skills with his Byakugan, and he also knows medical ninjutsu. He is friendly to others and often expresses his desire to serve the Hyuga main family and Konoha. He has a strong fighting spirit.

After some discussion, the main family decided that they couldn't let such a talented person waste his time in the training ground. So they simply granted Hyuga Kaze's wish and arranged for him to join a mission team to shine, while also letting the Hokage see the Hyuga clan's dedication.

Hyuga Kaze didn't consider these things at first, only thinking about establishing his persona. As a result, he was taught a lesson by the veteran ninja masters and could only temporarily obey orders and go with the flow.

Ninjas trained by clans like Hyuga Kaze don't receive the same treatment as those who graduate from the Ninja Academy. They have Jonin leading teams to impart experience, and the Hokage to receive them and assign them tasks, allowing them to train from basic missions.

His first mission was a combat mission to clear out bandits and robbers. This was also a kind of test, and those who survived were considered qualified.

The ninja world was in constant turmoil and war. The Land of Fire was relatively stable and prosperous, but various bandits, robbers, and outlaws still emerged one after another, and many ninjas had their first kills on them.

Led by the Chunin, everyone kept quiet and sped towards the mission location, arriving the next day. It was a small mountain stronghold consisting of a dozen or so dilapidated houses, without even a fence.

After resting for a while upon arrival, Yoshiyasu Kobayashi assigned Hyuga Kaze to conduct reconnaissance, as the Byakugan proved extremely useful in this regard. Hyuga Kaze didn't hesitate, concealing himself as he approached, activating his Byakugan to scan the area, quickly completing his reconnaissance, and returning to report, "There are a total of forty-two bandits. Only the leader possesses a weak amount of chakra, possibly a wandering ninja or samurai. The rest appear to be ordinary, stronger people, armed with axes and hammers. The stronghold has little defense, and there are no visible traps. There are two guards halfway up the mountain, and the only access is two dirt roads, one in and one out."

Kobayashi Yoshiyasu was very satisfied. "Well done. Hyuga Kaze, you take the lead in the attack. Inoue Nobuyuki and Tanakagawa, you two flank from behind. I'll be the backup. Let's get started."

As soon as the Chunin captain gave the order, Hyuga Kaze and the other two responded in unison, then leaped towards the mountain stronghold, splitting up to surround it from two directions.

The first to make contact with the enemy was Hyuga Kaze. After running halfway up the mountain, he didn't stop. With a flick of his wrist, two shurikens took the lives of the guards. Then, without concealing himself, he accelerated straight to the top of the mountain.

"Who goes there!?"

Some people in the mountain stronghold heard the commotion and came out to investigate. Hyuga Kaze had already rushed up by then, unleashing a Gentle Fist strike straight at his chest. In an instant, chakra pierced through flesh, rupturing the bandit's heart, and he collapsed, defeated.

At this moment, the other bandits realized that someone had broken in, and they rushed out of the room with their messy weapons, staring at Hyuga Kaze. The burly man in the lead held a katana, wore leather armor, and had a scar on his face. He stared fiercely at Hyuga Kaze, looking very much like a wandering samurai.

"Damn it! You're a ninja from Konoha!"

This samurai was quite knowledgeable; he immediately recognized the headband insignia Hyuga Kaze was wearing. He brandished his katana, about to utter a few harsh words, when Hyuga Kaze flashed forward and charged.

The wandering samurai had no ninjutsu lineage and had only mastered a superficial understanding of chakra, posing no threat to him.

Hyuga Kaze rushed in front of the samurai, striking him squarely in the face. The wandering samurai's face darkened, startled by Hyuga Kaze's speed. However, he was a ruthless man who had experienced many bloody battles, and his reaction was extremely fast. He immediately swung his sword to intercept, aiming for Hyuga Kaze's wrist.

He refused to believe that a ninja's skills could be stronger than his own treasured sword. He thought that such a young ninja couldn't be that powerful!

Seeing the katana coming at him, Hyuga Kaze didn't dare to be careless. He quickly withdrew his palm and took half a step back, launching another attack from the side.

He could only display the level of an ordinary genin and the Gentle Fist of the Hyuga branch family. He couldn't use the skills and techniques he obtained from the system, so he was still somewhat restricted in battle.

Fortunately, over the past two months, Hinata Kaze has frequently engaged in life-or-death battles with the Blood Shadow clone, resulting in a significant improvement in his combat experience, mentality, and reaction time.

Hinata Kaze intercepted the opponent's wrist holding the sword with his left hand, deflecting the direction of the katana, and then struck the samurai's side abdomen pressure point with his right hand. After the first strike, he quickly followed up with a series of attacks, directly hitting him with the Gentle Fist Eight Trigrams Palm - Sixteen Palms.

The smug smile on the bandit leader's face hadn't even faded when he collapsed to the ground, unable to get up!

Battles in the ninja world are so dangerous that even the slightest flaw can be fatal, especially in battles between ninjas, where life and death are often decided in a single second.

Seeing their leader taken care of, the henchmen who hadn't had a chance to act were terrified and began to flee in panic.

However, Inoue Nobuyuki and Tanaka Gawa had already fought their way out. Without using any ninjutsu, they simply unleashed a flurry of attacks with kunai in hand. For ninjas, dealing with these strong but chakra-poor ordinary people was an easy victory, especially since they were both experienced veterans with plenty of combat experience!

On the front lines, Hinata Kaze calmed himself down and continued his attack, working with his teammates to block the enemy's escape routes.

His movements were swift and agile, his hands moving with elegant grace. The bandits he struck bore no visible wounds, but their internal organs ruptured, and they collapsed dead. In less than ten minutes, this rabble was wiped out, leaving only a pile of corpses.

Clap clap clap, Kobayashi Yoshiyasu emerged from the shadows with a cool and aloof expression, clapping his hands. "To remain calm and composed in your first battle, and to coordinate with your teammates so well. Hinata Kaze, you're quite impressive. Welcome to our team!"
