Zuo Ling had awakened her supernatural abilities, but she did not trigger the necklace's strange phenomena, which puzzled Pei Nansheng greatly.

I can't explain why I believe what Pei Nansheng said. Maybe it's because of his kindness to me in my past life, or maybe we've both been reborn.
At least for this moment, Zuo Ling was willing to believe in Pei Nansheng.
Even if Pei Nansheng lied to her, she was no longer Zuo Ling from her previous life, and was not entirely without the ability to protect herself.
