Chapter 174 Reunion with an Old Friend

They led their people to leave Zuo Ling's courtyard, but still maintained a perimeter around it.

Zuo Ling was speechless; this was tantamount to placing them under house arrest!

Pei Nansheng met his gaze, but he couldn't do anything about it; he couldn't very well kill them all.

Outside the courtyard, Zhao Hongyi patted He Guiqi on the shoulder: "Kid, you've done a great job."

He Guiqi muttered, "Who cares about making contributions?"

Zhao Hongyi glared at him: "What did you say? Say it again."

Since joining the army, He Guiqi had suffered enough losses and didn't dare to repeat them a second time.

Since things have come to this, we can only take it one step at a time.

After a bland and tasteless meal, the three people and two animals went to bed early.

Zuo Ling tossed and turned in bed, unable to sleep, and finally closed her eyes in the early morning.

Half asleep, I heard Xiao Hao shout, "Sister, there's an airplane outside, and a lot of people too."

An airplane? Surely not, it's just a few vegetables, what important figure could it have alarmed?

Slowly getting out of bed, slowly brushing my teeth and washing my face, slowly eating breakfast...

Zuo Ling proceeded with everything that needed to be done slowly.

The two humans and two beasts tilted their heads and looked at her, wondering how long she could dawdle.

By 8:30, the person outside couldn't wait any longer and started knocking on the door.

"Zuo Ling, Zuo Ling, is that you?"

The female voice sounded familiar.

Ignoring his sister's anger, Xiao Hao ran out, shouting, "Grandma Tang, Grandma Tang, you're here!"

The gate swung open with a clang, revealing a group of people standing outside. In the distance, a helicopter stood guard, with several special forces soldiers armed and ready.

The first man, with shoulder insignia... pine needles and three stars, is he a general?

Oh my god!

Zhao Hongyi respectfully accompanied him.

Standing next to the general were Professor Jin and his wife.

Xiao Hao twisted and turned in Researcher Tang's arms, his little mouth smacking:

"Grandma Tang, Grandpa Jin, what brings you here? We haven't seen each other in so long! How have you been? I've missed you so much! Have you missed me too...?"

The child's tender and affectionate voice melted the heart.

Researcher Tang hugged Xiao Hao: "I miss you, Grandma misses you so much."

He glared at Zuo Ling:

“You silly girl, we’re waiting for you in the shelter, but you’d rather stay in the middle of nowhere than come looking for us.”

Zuo Ling wasn't particularly affectionate towards the elderly couple, but when Researcher Tang saw her, for some reason, tears welled up uncontrollably. Wiping his eyes, he realized that Kyoto had fallen too quickly, and they still thought that Zuo Ling's family hadn't escaped.

Zuo Ling and Pei Nansheng called out, "Professor Jin, Aunt Tang."

Professor Jin patted Pei Nansheng: "Good, good, it's good that you're out, it's good that you're out."

The old man's emotions weren't as outwardly expressed as Researcher Tang's, but his eyes still welled up with tears.

Zhao Hongyi coughed twice, and Professor Jin, understanding, introduced the new leader to Zuo Ling and Pei Nansheng:

"Zuo Ling, this is Chief Mei."

Surname Mei? The Northwest is Mei's territory; it's not surprising that a general would emerge from there. For him to condescend to come here is not a good thing; Zuo Lingxin sank into despair.

"Hello, Chief Mei."
