A high-ranking military officer has arrived; the opportunity is right in front of us. Since we can't escape it anyway, we might as well bring it up.
Professor Jin and his wife stared wide-eyed. They were truly blessed to have become neighbors with Zuo Ling, who was incredibly bold, in such a vast sea of people.
Do you know who Chief Mei is? He dared to ask a high-ranking military official for a submarine; he really dared to ask!
Chief Mei wasn't as agitated as the others, and said calmly:
“Young lady, if you hand over the formula for the growth agent, I can apply to the higher-ups to approve your conditions.”
Zuo Ling was dejected. She couldn't hand it over. She wished she could!
After waiting for a while, seeing that Zuo Ling did not answer, Chief Mei said again: "Since you can't hand it over, you can't exchange it for a submarine just by helping the troops grow vegetables."
Zuo Ling's eyes lit up. "There's a way!" she thought. "You draw a line, and I'll find a way to make up for the missing parts."
After silently observing Zuo Ling for a while, Chief Mei smiled:
"The supply depot has a price for scavengers to exchange for helicopters. Exchange a submarine for the price of twenty helicopters. You grow vegetables for the army, take half, and figure out the other half yourself."
Zuo Ling was overjoyed and confirmed, "The latest submarine, guaranteed delivery and return, equipped with enough fuel to circle the Earth twice?"
Chief Mei nodded, "Of course."
"Deal, let's sign the agreement. Let's be cautious first, then be honest."
Zuo Ling adopted the same bargaining style as someone haggling at a vegetable market, refusing to budge an inch.
Everyone was stunned, watching as Zuo Ling negotiated terms with Chief Mei, and surprisingly, they actually succeeded. They were so shocked that they couldn't even speak.
Chief Mei gave his secretary a look, and the secretary quickly drafted the agreement. The secretary's writing skills were first-rate, and the agreement was drafted in no time.
She looked at it carefully twice, and there were no problems. It was time to sign. Zuo Ling asked:
"Commander Mei, you won't go back on your word, will you? If you're playing me for a fool, there's nothing I can do about it."
Chief Mei threw his head back and laughed loudly:
"As long as I'm alive, I definitely won't renege on my debt. But if I'm dead, then it's hard to say."
Zuo Ling: "..."
The jokes about military bigwigs are not funny at all.
But this was the only chance she could find to acquire a submarine, and Zuo Ling reluctantly signed her name.
Chief Mei signed the document, and Professor Zhao Hongyi and his wife, Professor Jin, served as witnesses and signed their names.
The deal was finalized in black and white, and the transaction was completed.
Zhao Hongyi secretly gave Chief Mei a thumbs up. The points needed to redeem 10 aircraft were an astronomical figure, not something that could be easily accumulated.
The old commander cleverly tricked Zuo Ling into growing vegetables for the troops by making an impossible agreement.
Then came the matter of moving. Zuo Ling was unwilling to expose her spatial ability, but she was also reluctant to part with the container house, so she asked the army to help her move.
Zhao Hongyi was in a good mood and waved his hand, "It's a piece of cake."
The original military region's garrison location was no longer suitable for habitation, so they had to move further west.
Back at the military region, someone was already waiting for Commander Mei in his office.
Chief Mei snorted, his face dark, and tossed the agreement to the man.
"Look at the conditions your dear niece has set."
