Chapter 241 Seeking Life, Seeking Death

The tide was still rising. The man carried his son on his back and quickly climbed up the mountain. He showed no joy at escaping danger. The Chinese village was not high up. The top of the mountain was at most 800 or 900 meters.

Looking down the mountain, the Chinese village where I had lived for more than a year had been completely transformed in just a few tens of minutes.

Many people were swallowed by the waves before his eyes, while some were still chatting and working together at noon.

All the savings I had painstakingly accumulated vanished in an instant.

The package on Toto's back was still there, thankfully, but it was all soaked.

He had just come out of the water, soaking cold, and sighed softly. For his son's sake, he had to try to live.

Ning Qiang's act of saving lives stunned everyone in the Ning family.

When he returned to the villa, Ning Dage's mouth was still agape.

When did their second young master become such a philanthropist?

The joy of saving lives vanished in an instant, and Ning Qiang said coldly, "What are you looking at? Have you finished your work?"

He rarely shows kindness, but on the rare occasion... well, it feels quite nice.

Ning Dage swallowed hard and nodded repeatedly:

"Everything that could be carried has been loaded onto the plane. There are still many things that can't be taken with us, and we're moving them up the mountain."

Ning Qiang stretched his arms, exhaled, and returned to the balcony.

The villas built at the foot of the mountain were submerged, and the villagers who rushed up the mountain were noisy and argued, fighting over the narrow mountain path.

They looked away in disgust. What time is it? Instead of running for their lives, they were fighting each other.

If everyone passes through in an orderly manner, they can all climb to the top of the mountain. But if they make a racket, they will not only hinder others, but also shorten their own precious time to survive.

He disliked the lower classes because they possessed many qualities he disliked.

For example: narrow-minded, lacking in knowledge, bullying the weak and fearing the strong, greedy, opportunistic, mercenary, sarcastic and mean-spirited... and so on.

What he despised most was that he himself lived at the very bottom of society, yet he spared no effort to trample on those who were even worse off than him.

Their disdainful and contemptuous faces are utterly ugly!

Although people in his circle also exhibited those traits, once a label is attached, it's difficult to erase the impression of dislike for a lifetime.

The sky grew darker and darker, visibility decreased, and the humidity increased.

Ning Xiaoqi hurried along, "Second Young Master, everyone's been moved. When are we leaving?"

"You guys go with the plane, don't worry about me, I need to go somewhere first."

Ning Xiaoqi didn't ask any more questions and left first with Ning Dage and the rest of the Ning family.

The empty villa was now empty except for Ning Qiang, and the noise outside had subsided considerably.

I opened the refrigerator, took out two portions of frozen dumplings and a few bottles of mineral water, and relaxed as if the disaster outside didn't exist.

I cooked the dumplings on the portable gas stove and grabbed a bottle of leftover red wine.

Shake the bottle. It's from a winery in a romantic country. There's only half a bottle left. I won't be able to drink it anymore.

The bar counter offered a perfect view of the scenery outside the window. Although it was dark and almost nothing could be seen, Ning Qiang still chose the best spot to sit down.

He picked up a dumpling, put it in his mouth, swallowed it slowly, and sipped some wine, like a successful person who, after a busy day, sits comfortably in a high-end restaurant, savoring the fruits of his success.

The sound of dripping water came from downstairs; water was flooding into the villa.

Ning Qiang pretended not to hear, continuing to eat, sipping red wine and taking bites of dumplings.

A giant wave crashed over the balcony, water gushed into the second floor, and seawater splashed into the dumpling plate.

She frowned, glanced reluctantly at the unfinished dumplings, pushed aside the plate, elegantly wiped her mouth, tossed aside the handkerchief, and waded through ankle-deep water to the balcony.

It paused for a few seconds, then spread its wings and soared into the dark sky.
